"Hng-aa," I moaned softly as Azrael’s thumb brushed over my nipple again. The water felt cool around us, but my body was burning up.

He pulled me closer on his thighs. His hardness pressed against me, thick and demanding. I shivered, gripping his wet shirt tighter.

"Azrael..." I whispered, my voice shaky.

"Shh," he murmured against my ear. His breath was hot. "Let me take care of you."

His lips crashed on mine. This kiss was rough, hungry, like he wanted to claim every part of me. I kissed him back, my fingers digging into his shoulders. The pain in my tummy slowly faded, replaced by something hotter, needier.

He broke the kiss and trailed his mouth down my neck. Soft bites, then gentle licks. I arched into him, gasping. My bare breasts pressed against his chest. The water splashed lightly as I moved.

"You scared me," he growled low. "Seeing his arms around you... I wanted to kill him."

"I didn’t mean to," I breathed. "It just happened."

Azrael’s hands roamed my back, then lower. He squeezed my hips, pulling me down against him. I felt him throb through the thin wet fabric between us.

"No more," he said. "No more letting others close. You’re ours."

I nodded quickly, too lost in the feeling to argue. His fingers found my sensitive spots under the water. I jerked, moaning louder. He rubbed slow circles, teasing me until my legs trembled.

"Azrael... please..."

He chuckled darkly, the sound vibrating through his chest. One finger slid inside me, then two. I bit my lip hard, trying not to cry out. The pond water rippled around us as he worked me open.

"So tight for me," he whispered. His eyes glowed that green-black again. Beautiful and scary at the same time.

I rocked against his hand, chasing the pleasure. My head fell back, moonlight shining on my skin. He watched me the whole time, like he couldn’t look away.

Suddenly he pulled his fingers out. I whimpered at the loss, but then he was lifting me higher. The tip of his cock nudged my entrance.

"Look at me," he ordered.

I met his eyes as he sank me down onto him in one smooth thrust. We both groaned. He stretched me so full. I clung to him, nails scratching his back.

"Fuck, Raven," he hissed.

He didn’t wait. His hands gripped my ass as he thrust up into me. Hard. Deep. Water splashed everywhere. I bounced on him, moaning with every stroke. It felt too good. My mind went blank.

He kissed me again, swallowing my cries. His pace got faster, almost punishing. Like he was still mad about Kael. Like he needed to remind me who I belonged to.

I came first, clenching around him hard. Stars bursting behind my eyes. I shook in his arms, crying out his name.

Azrael followed right after. He buried himself deep and growled as he spilled inside me. His body tensed, fangs grazing my shoulder.

We stayed like that for a while, breathing heavy. He held me close, stroking my hair.

"Don’t ever scare me like that again," he said softly.

"I won’t," I promised, kissing his cheeks.

He cleaned me gently in the pond, his touches careful now. Then he carried me out and helped me back into my gown. My legs still felt weak.

When we got back to camp, the others were waking up. Veyra noticed first. His eyes narrowed at my messy hair and Azrael’s ripped sleeve.

"What happened?" Ryker asked, standing up fast.

"Kael," Azrael said simply. His voice was cold. "He tried something."

Thyrian’s eyes went sharp. He looked at me. "You okay?"

I nodded, leaning into Azrael’s side. "I’m fine now. Azrael helped me."

Kael sat a little away from the group. His neck had marks from Azrael’s hand. He looked at me with those dark eyes, but didn’t speak. Part of me felt bad. Another part remembered how tight he squeezed.

"Stay away from her," Veyra warned him, voice low.

Kael just smiled a little. "I can’t. Not anymore."

I sighed and sat down. My body still tingled from the pond. Azrael stayed right next to me, like a guard. Ryker passed me some dried meat. I ate quietly, thinking.

The journey continued after sunrise. Azrael carried me again when my legs got tired. The guys kept watching Kael. Tension hung in the air.

Later that afternoon, we reached a small cave for rest. I lay down on Azrael’s cloak. Veyra came over and pulled me into his lap.

"You smell like him," he complained, nuzzling my neck.

"Sorry," I mumbled.

He kissed me softly at first, then deeper. His hands wandered under my gown. "Let me replace his scent."

I laughed lightly. "You guys are too much."

Ryker joined, kissing my shoulder. "We almost lost you last night. Need to feel you’re safe."

Thyrian watched from the side, smiling a little. But his eyes kept flicking to Kael outside the cave.

I let them touch me. Gentle hands, soft kisses. It felt warm and it felt right. Their love chased away the fear from the dream and Kael’s hug.

But when I glanced out, Kael was staring. His eyes looked hungry. He licked his lips once, that snake tongue flashing.

I turned away fast and buried my face in Veyra’s chest.

Night came again. We ate together. The guys talked about the dam and what might wait there. I listened, half-dozing against Azrael.

Kael stayed quiet most of the time. But every now and then, I caught him watching me. Not in a creepy way exactly. More like... longing.

Part of me wondered if he really liked me. Or if snakes really could love at first sight.

Azrael noticed and pulled me closer. "Stop thinking about him."

"I wasn’t," I lied.

He smirked. "Liar."

Later, when everyone slept, Azrael woke me with soft kisses. We snuck a little away from camp again. This time slower. Sweeter. He made love to me under the trees, whispering how much he needed me.

I fell asleep in his arms after, feeling safe.

But deep down, I knew Kael wouldn’t give up easy. And I wasn’t sure how I felt about that.

The next morning, we kept moving. My body ached in a good way, and my other beastmen were aslee.

Kael walked at the back, when our eyes met, he mouthed something. "Choose me too."

I suddenly felt irritated at his words. What was I going to do with him?

"I don’t have time for this," I said and walked to the others. It was already morning, and it’s already been two days, If we wanted to find that dam, we had to move now!

"Guys, wake up!" I screamed at the top of my lungs, and their eyes popped open. "Let’s head to the dam. We aren’t stopping for no reason until we reach there!"

"Why? You look cranky today?" Thyrian said, but I didn’t reply and directed my attention elsewhere.

"Kael, lead the way," I said, ignoring Thyrian’s words, Thyrian gaze narrowed and his lips parted to say something, but Veyra’s hand landed on his shoulder.

"Let Raven be," he said.

"She doesn’t look actually happy,"

Thyrian whispered, yet I heard everything. It’s not like I’m not happy, I’m just tired of the wild already. I came for a vacation, but now it just feels like too much work.

They stood up, packing their stuff. I followed Kael right behind him.

"Why don’t you want to choose me? Am I that bad of a Beastsman?" He asked, yet my gaze was focused on the ground. I stopped in my tracks and carried the soil in my hands.

Kael stopped on his track, once he noticed I wasn’t moving anymore, "Are you okay?" He asked, but my gaze was focused on it.

"Cat, I need the Encyclopedia," I said in my head, and instantly the book appeared in my hands, Kael was startled seeing this.

"Where did that come from?" He asked, but I ignored him, flipping through the pages until I found an image of that exact kind of soil.

"I knew it was familiar when I saw it," I mumbled, and immediately purple flames hovered over my hands. I charged them straight into the soil, watching as the soil heated and turned into slick mud liquid.

According to the Encyclopedia, the soil was really good at healing. Apart from that, it could form a perfect glue. I don’t know why, but I feel like it would be of good use someday.

"Are you ignoring me?" Kael asked and I inhaled sharply.

"What do you think I’m doing? I’m not replying, yet you asked me if I am or not?" I snapped, and he moved closer. My gaze moved to his leg, and I turned to the liquid sand.

"Don’t come closer."

He stopped on his track, his face showing a bit of confusion. Why was I suddenly cranky and cold today? I just didn’t just want to entertain anything unserious.

I reached out and carried a little pouch, there, I put the sand in and smiled.

Just then Thyrian appeared beside me. "What are you doing?" He asked.

I looked up at him and looked away. "None of your business!"
