Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate
Chapter 1279: You’ll Believe EventuallyChapter 1279: Chapter 1279: You’ll Believe Eventually
"My daughter is not the type to cause trouble!" Edward White stated with certainty.
Sophie Wilson understood that Edward White was implying she was deliberately stirring up trouble.
"Your daughter came to me, saying she wanted to tell me a big secret about Mr. Seymour. She wanted me to reconsider whether I should stay with Mr. Seymour after hearing this big secret," Sophie explained.
"And when I got here, this big secret turned out to be about the child Mr. Seymour and I have together, and she insisted the child wasn’t biologically ours." Sophie sneered, raising an eyebrow, and asked, "With her saying things like that in front of my child, who else should I hit?"
"If her words have planted any kind of shadow in my son’s heart, I won’t forgive her!"
Sophie’s words made Mrs. White retort through gritted teeth, "Just because you say something, that makes it true? Why would my daughter go looking for you?"
"You’re infatuated with Charles Seymour, but my daughter has plenty of suitors!" Mrs. White blatantly accused Sophie of lying, "Do you have any proof?"
"Of course I do!" Sophie replied.
"If you’re thinking of using your child as a witness, it won’t work. You’re all family, so naturally, you’ll say whatever supports your side." Mrs. White cleverly blocked off Sophie’s retreat.
This matter couldn’t be blamed on her daughter. If it were, how would Chloe dare to show her face in Imperial City?
It would be utterly humiliating.
If Charles Seymour were single, it would be fine.
But Charles Seymour clearly has a fiancée, and now there’s even talk of them getting married.
Strictly speaking... Chloe clearly seems like the third party trying to intervene.
If that reputation stuck, it would be really disgraceful.
Sophie laughed and asked, "Your daughter said it herself, surely you’d believe that?"
Mrs. White hadn’t grasped what Sophie meant yet, but Chloe White’s face went pale immediately.
She watched as Sophie took out her phone, and hurriedly cried out, "Mom, my stomach hurts."
"Hey, don’t make excuses." Sophie sneered, "Let’s just listen to the recording of our whole conversation, shall we?"
"Sophie Wilson, my daughter is unwell, I need to take her to the hospital immediately!" Mrs. White quickly blocked Sophie, supporting Chloe, and shouted to Edward, "Hurry up and get the car, Chloe isn’t feeling well!"
"Okay." Edward, flustered, responded, not even bidding farewell to Old Mr. Seymour, and rushed off supporting Chloe.
Holding her child, Sophie sneered, "Asking me for evidence!"
She had as much evidence as needed!
She had always been prepared, knowing that certain shameless people would deny everything.
"Good job." Old Mrs. Seymour snorted, spat in the direction Chloe and her family left, and said, suggesting they were crazy to speak of their beloved child that way.
"Grandma, don’t be angry." Sophie said with a smile to Old Mrs. Seymour, "Let’s go home."
"Yes, yes, let’s go inside, it’s awfully hot out here." Old Mrs. Seymour said with a smile, and went inside with Sophie and the others.
The security, seeing the situation resolved without any conflict, secretly let out a sigh of relief and then walked away.
Of course, while on duty, they wouldn’t say anything, but privately... well...
"Little one, don’t listen to that person." Sophie carried her child inside and affectionately tapped their little nose with a smile.
"Okay." The child obediently replied, sitting on the sofa, and hugged Sophie’s neck.
