Having left the classroom, Wu Yun, accustomed to his role as a hands-off boss, suddenly found himself with nothing to do.

After some thought, however, Wu Yun decided to start visiting his companies. While the system usually monitored everything and prevented any issues, as the chairman, he still needed to make periodic inspections to make his presence felt.

Wu Yun decided to check on his two game companies first.

Thanks to Wu Yun’s clear game plan and development direction, coupled with the company’s aggressive hiring for development, Wu Yun had received back-to-back reports after the National Day holiday: one from Ling Yi at Kunpeng Games about the progress on *PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds*, and another from Wang Chao at Galaxy Network regarding *Honor of Kings*.

Both companies had made breakthrough progress. The initial alpha versions had already been sent to Wu Yun for testing, and he had provided a great deal of feedback for improvement at the time.

He hadn’t visited the two companies in a long time, but fortunately, the system had their addresses clearly recorded, so it only took Wu Yun a little while to find his way there.

Ling Yi and Lu Changsheng finally laid eyes on their elusive chairman.

Ling Yi smiled at Wu Yun. "President Wu, our team has been working on this for nearly three months. This is the second build. Could you give it another try for us and see how the improvements feel?"

Wu Yun followed Ling Yi and Lu Changsheng to the main work area, where a programmer got up to give Wu Yun his seat.

Ling Yi pointed to the screen and said,

"President Wu, this is the improved test build we created based on your last round of feedback. According to our extensive internal playtesting and LAN matches, the build’s quality has essentially met your requirements."

"If you feel it’s ready, our next step will be to begin the closed beta. Once that’s complete, we can move on to the open beta and launch for sale!"

Ling Yi and Lu Changsheng explained the basic controls to Wu Yun, though he actually knew them all. If they were to run an internal test right now, Wu Yun was confident he’d be the last one standing.

Wu Yun just tested the freedom of the parachute drop and how different attachments affected a gun’s firing after he picked one up.

*PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds* wasn’t like H1Z1’s simplistic automatic firing, which offered a terrible gameplay experience.

After firing a few full-auto sprays with a fully kitted M4, Wu Yun found the bullet spread was well within a controllable range.

Next, Wu Yun tested some character movements and vehicle handling, discovering it wasn’t much different from the version he played in his past life.

"Not bad. It’s very good overall, but there are still a few areas that need improvement."

As he spoke, Wu Yun listed the few shortcomings he’d noticed during his playthrough. Ling Yi and Lu Changsheng quickly grabbed their notebooks and began jotting everything down.

"Alright! That’s about it for the issues. You can roll out the full variety of weapons gradually, but each weapon class must have at least one representative gun at launch."

Hearing Wu Yun’s positive assessment, Ling Yi, Lu Changsheng, and the others all smiled and nodded.

Ling Yi said, "No problem. During our LAN matches, we also felt that some areas still lacked a bit of polish. But I estimate we can develop a complete closed-beta version of *PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds* in another month."

"Alright! Let’s all work hard together! If we achieve good results, I’ll give every single one of you a big year-end bonus—at least 100,000 yuan each." Wu Yun promised with a smile, adding inwardly, ’Work hard, everyone! Your boss’s dream of buying a private jet is all on you!’

Lu Changsheng then thought about how to promote the game’s closed beta. He asked, "President Wu, regarding the promotion for *PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds*, I have a rough idea. What if we partnered with some game streaming platforms and invited various Shooting game streamers to play the closed beta? I think if we start with streaming platforms, our game could make a name for itself in a very short time!"

Seeing Wu Yun nod in agreement, Lu Changsheng continued, "It’s like a scarcity marketing campaign. While the streamers are in the closed beta, we can release a limited number of beta keys to get regular players involved."

"We could even offer bounties, letting players find our bugs. They’d get a reward for every one they report."

When Wu Yun heard Lu Changsheng’s proposal, he strongly approved of the scarcity marketing plan. "Excellent. Starting with streaming platforms is a great promotional strategy. I think we can start working on that right away."

Wu Yun had a great deal of confidence in Ling Yi and Lu Changsheng’s abilities.

With Wu Yun’s approval, Lu Changsheng continued, "I think the biggest advantage of streaming platforms is the interaction between streamers and their fans. And our *PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds* offers enormous freedom, allowing for many different playstyles to emerge."

"I’m sure tons of interesting situations will happen during the streams, which will attract a huge audience of viewers interested in the battle royale genre. We could even convert many of them into potential customers. It would save us a fortune in advertising costs—it’s truly a case of killing two birds with one stone."

Wu Yun nodded after listening. "Do you have any specific streaming platforms to recommend?"

"I think we can try a few of the current major platforms; we don’t need to limit ourselves to just one. YY, Douyu, and Huya all have their own dedicated game streaming sections."

Ling Yi explained from the side, "Those three are some of the strongest platforms for game streaming, but of course, we could work with others as well."

"Streaming platforms, huh?" Wu Yun thought for a moment, then asked, "What if we just acquired a streaming platform ourselves? What would be the effect of that?"

Ling Yi and Lu Changsheng were stunned for a moment. They hadn’t expected their simple suggestion to get Wu Yun thinking about acquiring an entire streaming platform.

While Ling Yi and Lu Changsheng privately marveled at how casually Wu Yun threw his money around, they still felt it was unnecessary.

Ling Yi tried to dissuade him. "President Wu, if the goal is just to promote our game, I don’t think it’s necessary to go through the immense trouble and expense of acquiring a streaming platform."

"First of all, the goal of promotion is to let as many people as possible know about and understand *PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds*. If we only acquire a single platform for promotion, the capital outlay would be astronomical."

"Secondly, the traffic on a single platform would be worlds apart from what we’d get across multiple platforms. So personally, I’m more inclined to partner with many different platforms and have them all open dedicated *PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds* sections."

Lu Changsheng chimed in with a smile, "President Wu, that’s how we should handle the initial promotion. Later, once our game is a massive success, it won’t be too late to consider setting up our own dedicated gaming platform. That would be a huge help for hosting *PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds* tournaments down the line."

Wu Yun dropped the idea. "Alright, I’ll leave the promotion and all that to you! Just let me know if you need me to pull any strings."

After settling matters, Wu Yun called out, "Anyone who knows how to play, let’s get a few games in!"
