Rebirth: I have Monopoly System

Chapter 253 - 251: Susan’s Game Livestream

Over the course of the morning, they played a total of five matches.

Wu Yun won twice, and Zhao Yang also got two chicken dinners. The fifth win went to an employee who was streaming, who managed to out-heal Wu Yun to take the victory.

Wu Yun shut down his computer and walked out of his office. Seeing Ling Yi and Lu Changsheng talking outside, he asked, "How did it go? How many beta accounts did we give out this morning?"

Lu Changsheng, who had been monitoring the backend, smiled and said, "President Wu, between us and the other streamers, we’ve given out over three thousand game accounts this morning!"

They had previously decided on a scarcity marketing strategy, which involved promoting the game through streamers and then slowly releasing the accounts over the course of a week.

Since they had to manage the game’s operations, they ordered a working lunch to the office.

After lunch, Wu Yun didn’t go back to gaming. Instead, he began searching his computer for streamers playing PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

The lunch hour was peak time for livestreaming.

Thanks to Kunpeng’s promotional efforts, more than half the streamers in the gaming section were suddenly playing PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

Wu Yun decided to play the part of an online tycoon for the day. He immediately registered an account named Wushan Cloud Rain and loaded it with 500,000.

Most game streamers didn’t use facecams. Wu Yun scrolled through the streams, spreading the wealth around. An average stream got one Rocket; if he liked what he saw, he’d send two or three.

In an instant, the gaming section was filled with cries of "Thank you, whale!" and "Thank you, President Wu!"

Wu Yun moved on to the next stream. The title looked familiar: "Susan’s PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds!"

Clicking into the stream, he saw a small window below the main gameplay feed, which framed Susan’s lovely face, headset and all.

"Thanks to Bro Yizhiduxiu for the Rocket! Watch this, I’m gonna get a chicken dinner with a sniper!"

Susan’s voice drifted from the speakers. Wu Yun noted that her stream was doing quite well, with a popularity score of over 20,000.

He noticed, however, that half the comments were just about her looks. ’These shut-ins are so repressed,’ he thought. ’They really let loose online.’

Seeing some of the more over-the-top comments, Wu Yun sent 99 Rockets in one go.

"Wushan Cloud Rain has sent Rocket x99!"

Instantly, Wu Yun’s account shot up several levels.

"This streamer’s got skills! All you pervs can shut up! This is a gaming stream, not a strip club!"

Wu Yun’s message immediately garnered a lot of support.

"He’s right! Our Susan has the looks *and* the skills. She’s definitely gonna be famous!"

"President Wu is a beast!"

Susan was stunned by the flood of comments and the endless stream of Rockets flying across her screen. It was the biggest donation she’d received in the half a month she’d been streaming!

After the platform took its cut from that last wave of gifts, she had just pocketed over 20,000!

But when she saw the name "Wushan Cloud Rain," combined with some viewers calling out "President Wu," Susan’s mind immediately jumped to the man she’d researched so thoroughly—her idol, Wu Yun.

She ventured, "Wu Yun! President Wu, is that you?"

While skillfully maneuvering her character to pick up loot, Susan glanced at the chat, waiting to see if her guess was right.

"Susan, just focus on your stream! I think you’re very talented! Your skills are great, too. You’ve got a bright future!"

Wu Yun typed back in a patronizing tone, "When you’re free, we should squad up for some chicken dinners! I’m off to check out some other streams now!"

Susan’s face flushed at Wu Yun’s double entendre. Just as she was about to reply, another massive volley of Rockets erupted on her screen.

"Wushan Cloud Rain has sent Rocket x99"

Instantly, Susan’s stream popularity skyrocketed, quickly surpassing the 100,000 mark.

"President Wu is so generous! I’ve been following him from other PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds streams. He’s been gifting pretty much every channel, but he’s giving this one way more!"

"Looks like President Wu knows Susan. She’s so beautiful, I wonder if they’ve got a thing going on!" someone speculated boldly.

Someone else asked Susan, "Susan, who is this Wushan Cloud Rain guy?"

Seeing that someone had hit surprisingly close to the truth about her and Wu Yun, Susan forced herself to remain calm. "Wushan Cloud Rain is the same President Wu who’s been all over the news lately," she explained. "Please don’t speculate, everyone. We’ve only met a few times. He’s a friend of a friend, and we had a meal together once."

Even as she spoke, her hands didn’t slow down. With a single shot, she knocked down a player standing in a window.

Susan tried to change the subject. "Alright, guys! Watch and learn! I’m getting us a chicken dinner with a sniper this round!"

Some viewers weren’t having it, though. They were hungry for gossip about Wu Yun.

Susan sighed in resignation. She knew her audience’s wishes came first. "Everything you’ve read online is true," she said, continuing to play. "Especially that article predicting President Wu’s net worth. If anything, I think it was an underestimate!"

"From what I know, at least, he founded Little Red Car entirely on his own! Between his remaining shares and his cash on hand, Little Red Car’s market cap alone is over 800 million USD!"

"And PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds? I know for a fact his company developed it. They’re collaborating with streamers like us from all over to promote the game and run the beta test."

Susan’s eyes were glued to the screen. Crouching behind a rock, she fired another shot, killing a player named "Douyu-ButtBlaster"!

"Yes! Didn’t think I’d kill off one of my peers!" Susan cheered.

Her tone shifted as she continued, "If you guys like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, be sure to hit that follow button. All of us streamers have 200 beta account slots to give away. I’m going to hold a raffle after every match and draw winners from my followers."

Hearing this, many of the casual viewers who had dropped in to see what the hype was about immediately clicked the follow button.

Soon after, Susan’s exceptional skill led her to an incredible feat: a chicken dinner with twelve kills, all using a sniper rifle.

"6666~"

Eternal Thought sent Airplane x1.

Susan’s Fanboy sent Airplane x1.

Game Fanatic sent Rocket x1.

For a moment, the screen was flooded with all sorts of paid and free gifts.

"Thank you **** for the Rocket, thank you **** for the gift..."

After a round of thank yous, Susan announced, "Alright, let’s start the raffle! Ten spots are up for grabs! The download link for the game is in my profile description."

...

Wu Yun spent an hour making the rounds, donating to all the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds streamers on Douyu, including Zhao Yang’s "Little Sun" stream.

Even after all that, he still had over 100,000 left out of the 500,000 he’d topped up.

Wu Yun figured he didn’t watch streams very often anyway, so he went back to Susan’s channel, intending to spend the rest of the money.

"Wushan Cloud Rain has sent Rocket x256!"

Susan, who had been chatting with her viewers, was left speechless. She stared blankly for a long moment before finally chuckling. "Thank you for the Rockets, President Wu! Do you want to squad up and play a round?"

"Maybe next time," Wu Yun replied. "I already played all morning. Okay! Stream well. I’ve finished spending the 500,000 on my account! I’m off to check out other platforms now!"
