Deep Sea Water Elemental

Swimming freely at the bottom of the lake, after activating "Deep Sea Will,"

Serea's level soared to 35, and, as she was in mermaid form, all her mermaid skills received a 20% attributes boost.

"Sssha!"

Several reckless naga charged straight at her, but would Serea just allow it?

Water Flow Control!

In an instant, the nagas underwater were immobilized by the compressed lake water around them. As the water continued to shrink and squeeze, their bodies were about to be crushed into pulp.

Before Serea could finish them off, a blade of water suddenly slashed in her direction.

"Hm?"

Catching sight of the attack out of the corner of her eye, Serea responded with several jets of high-pressure water.

Bang!

The naga were repelled and knocked unconscious. With the mermaid skill enhancement plus the damage boost from her magic-imbued attire, Serea was now unstoppable.

"Sssha!"

Seeing their companions gravely injured, the leading Sea Palace Guard charged at her, but Serea didn't waste words.

"Deep Sea Water Elemental!"

A blue spell circle glowed beneath the water, and then a surge of black liquid gushed forth from it.

"Re~vere~the~Deep~Sea~"

First there was a massive staff of ice crystal, then a monster appeared on the lakebed—15 meters tall, humanoid upper body, lower body made of water, and the whole figure composed of black water currents.

Level 35! Epic! Deep Sea Water Elemental!

Oceanic Slam!

The staff struck out, causing the water to accelerate and flow violently. Several naga were swept away by the water, while the Sea Palace Guard managed to break free. However, the second strike from the Deep Sea Water Elemental immediately followed.

Frozen Hell!

A region underwater began to freeze, trapping several naga within. Encased in ice, they sank to the lakebed, and in the blink of an eye, only three naga remained out of the initial ten.

"Sssha!"

The Sea Palace Guard still attempted to attack, but Serea was already ready.

"Ah~"

Rhythm of Sound!

She cast her skill, raising the Deep Sea Water Elemental's attributes even further, while the three nagas' eyelids began to droop as drowsiness assaulted their minds. Two naga quickly fell asleep, leaving only the Sea Palace Guard.

He struggled to remain conscious, but as he slipped up for a moment, Serea controlled the water to form a blade and stabbed it into his chest.

Squelch!

Hit in the chest, his tentacles twitched a few times before going limp.

Sure enough, just like those mutated ogre, the Erosion Demon parasitized right at the center of the chest was their weakness.

Realizing this, Serea quickly finished off the other defenseless naga as well. The Erosion Demons were slain, and the threat was completely eliminated.

"Nevies, go help Celia and the others."

"As~you~command~"

Upon receiving the command, the Deep Sea Water Elemental, nevies, transformed into a stream of water and glided toward the lakeshore, then continued into the woods.

After clearing out the naga, Serea swam toward the passage leading to the lake's cavern.

Coincidentally, the magic in the barrier was exhausted, the undercurrent disappeared, and Serea entered the cave unobstructed.

"Bad person!"

"Woo!"

However, right after passing through the tunnel, a massive tentacle whipped at her. As she saw the attacker's face, she flicked her agile tail to dodge and called out,

"It's me, Serea."

"Serea!"

"Woo!"

Upon seeing Serea, nora and Little Mo grew excited. But when Serea saw Little Mo's current state, her brow furrowed slightly.

At the moment, three of Little Mo's eight tentacles had been severed, and his entire body was covered in wounds. Logically, he should be able to transform into a level 39 Abyssal Octabrute—so how could he be in such a sorry state?

Serea's gaze then shifted to Tethys, unconscious on the shell bed, and she had a rough guess.

Little Mo would need to hear Tethys' singing before transforming, but now that Tethys was unconscious, he couldn't...

"There were so many monsters outside, Serea, how did you get in?"

"The monsters have already been dealt with by me, don't worry."

"Really?"

"Mm."

"Serea, you're amazing!"

Nora hugged Serea, and Little Mo wrapped both of them in his tentacles in excitement.

Feeling the slimy, squirming octopus tentacles on her body, Serea's hair stood on end, and she stiffened, not daring to move.

"Let me down, first!"

Little Mo placed Serea on the stone platform, and she shifted into human form before approaching Tethys.

"What happened to Tethys?"

"Miss saw a strange bug, and then she was like this."

Nora looked worriedly at her, so Serea turned to Dogsius for answers.

"Do you know what happened to her?"

"Master, she's been hit by a high-level spirit magic, 'Fear's Proliferation'—a spell that awakens one's deepest fears. The stronger the fear in a victim's heart, the worse the effects. In the most severe cases, someone can become trapped in their own fears for a lifetime."

"Fear's Proliferation...spirit magic..."

Putting the clue of the 'strange bug' from Nora together, Serea recalled the underworld bug she caught earlier—it was a medium for casting spirit magic.

So, someone used an underworld bug to cast spirit magic on Tethys. For someone to get to Tethys like this, they couldn't be just anybody.

But what was it that Tethys feared so deeply that, even at level 30+, she would be struck unconscious?

That would only be revealed later.

With her deduction complete, Serea carefully picked up the unconscious Tethys and said to Nora,

"It's not safe here. Let's return to the camp."

"Okay, we'll listen to Serea."

"Woo!"

With both agreeing, Serea jumped into the tunnel with Tethys in her arms. Transformed as a mermaid, she swam toward the lake shore with Tethys, while Little Mo shrunk down into a mini-octopus and latched onto Nora's head, the two following behind.

But just as they reached the lakebed, Serea suddenly noticed that the Sea Palace Guard was still alive. He struggled, writhing his body, and when he saw Serea, his eyes filled with a desperate desire to live.

That look made it clear he had broken free of the Erosion Demon's control.

Appraise was used on the other naga—they too were still breathing. Seeing this, Serea manipulated the water to scoop them up and carried them to the lakeshore.

She whistled, and Chips, already waiting in the woods, rushed out.

"Awoo~"

He nuzzled Serea's leg affectionately, making a 'wulu-lulu' sound, and Serea patted his head.

"Go, take them back to camp."

"Awoo."

Mounting the Carrion Beast, nora asked,

"Serea, aren't you coming with us?"

"I still have things to do. You go on ahead."

With that, Serea ordered Chips to leave. With a few leaps, chips carried the two into the woods.

After seeing them off, Serea turned to the nagas. The Sea Palace Guard was gazing at her, confused, and Serea walked toward him.
