[An Hour Earlier...]

After losing sight of the woman outside Eric’s room, Hannah was about to leave. She assumed the woman had already heard her calling and slipped away.

Just as she turned around, however... a faint sound drifted through the corridor.

A muffled moan.

Hannah froze. Her brows knitted together as she slowly looked toward the room.

Groom’s suite...

Curiosity got the better of her. Carefully, she stepped closer and gently pushed the door open just enough to peek through the narrow gap, only the sight inside made her expression turn icy.

"So... these two scumbags are cheating on Ruby as well."

She immediately stepped back and quietly closed the door. She had no interest in watching another second.

Instead, she felt oddly relieved.

Some people never change.

As for Maria... Hannah had long since realized what kind of woman she was.

A snake. The kind that smiled at your face while waiting for the perfect moment to sink her fangs into your back.

She let out a cold laugh. Ruby brought this upon herself.

Turning around, she was about to leave when the heel of her shoe bumped into something lying on the floor.

She instinctively looked down.

A USB drive.

"Hm?" She bent down and picked it up.

Did that waitress drop this earlier?

Thinking it probably belonged to the mysterious waitress she’d bumped into, Hannah slipped it into her purse, intending to return it later.

She didn’t linger any longer and headed for the elevator.

Just as the elevator doors closed... her phone rang. The caller ID made her shoulders tense.

Dominic.

"...Why is Brother calling?"

She sighed.

Did he already find out I came to the wedding?

Knowing Dominic, there was very little that escaped his notice.

Taking a deep breath, she answered the call. But before she could say hello, Dominic’s calm voice came through the speaker.

"Clara is at the same venue."

Hannah blinked. "What?"

"Find her before she causes any trouble."

For a second... her mind froze. But soon everything clicked.

The mysterious waitress. The oversized uniform. The strangely familiar voice.

"No wonder she complimented my dress..." Hannah muttered, rubbing her forehead.

She should have realized sooner.

"Hannah." Dominic’s voice snapped her back to reality. "Are you listening?"

"Yes... I am," Hannah sighed.

She had only come to the wedding to put the past behind her. Now she had another mission entirely.

"Brother, I can’t talk right now." Without waiting for a reply, she hung up.

She knew exactly what hanging up on Dominic meant. He was probably already on his way.

And if Clara was involved... he definitely wouldn’t stay back.

[Present]

Outside the venue, Clara looked at Hannah with wide eyes.

"Wow..."

She dramatically covered her mouth. "When did you become so smart?"

Hannah stared at her expressionlessly. Without saying a word, she unlocked her phone and held it out. On the screen was the text Clara had sent her earlier.

You look absolutely beautiful today.

Hannah raised an eyebrow. "You complimented my dress."

She looked at Clara. "Wasn’t that enough to make me suspicious?"

Clara immediately dropped her hand and pursed her lips.

"...I didn’t think that far."

Lily slapped a hand against her forehead. "Madam!"

She looked completely exasperated. "Who leaves clues when they’re on a secret mission?"

Clara blinked innocently. "I wasn’t leaving clues."

"No?"

"I genuinely wanted her to know she looked beautiful." She pointed at Hannah. "I was cheering her on."

Silence.

Hannah stared at her. Lily stared at her. The two women then slowly looked at each other.

"..."

"..."

Finally, Lily sighed. "I’ve officially given up trying to understand your brain."

Hannah nodded in complete agreement. "Same."

Clara looked genuinely wronged. "What? I was being supportive."

"Supportive?" Lily repeated.

"You disguised yourself as a waitress, sneaked into a wedding, accidentally became Chef Jaden’s assistant, broke a glass display, exposed three people’s affairs..." She took a deep breath. "...and your biggest concern was complimenting Miss Hannah’s outfit?"

Clara smiled brightly. "Exactly."

Lily covered her face. "I need a vacation."

Hannah pinched the bridge of her nose.

"And Brother married... this."

Clara beamed proudly. "Thank you."

"I wasn’t complimenting you."

"I know," Clara said cheerfully. "But I’ll accept it anyway."

Hannah and Lily exchanged another helpless look.

No matter how long they spent around Clara... neither of them could ever figure out how her mind actually worked.

"But tell me one thing," Hannah said, looking at Clara curiously. "How did you even find out about Eric and Maria? Even I never suspected they were having an affair."

Knowing how possessive Ruby was over Eric, Hannah had always assumed she would never allow another woman to get close to him.

So discovering that Eric and Maria had been secretly involved came as a genuine surprise.

Clara’s smile instantly widened.

"Dad."

Hannah blinked.

"...Dad?"

"I asked Dad to help me," Clara said proudly. "And guess what? He dug up everything about Eric and Maria."

Hannah stared at her in astonishment.

"Dad actually investigated them?"

For a moment, she couldn’t process it.

She had assumed their father wanted nothing more to do with the Swan family. Ever since stepping away from the business world, he had seemed perfectly content spending his days with their mother.

Yet it turned out... a talented man never truly lost his touch.

Clara nodded enthusiastically.

"Yep. Dad."

A smile unconsciously appeared on her face as she recalled what Jonathan had told her before she left the Sterling mansion that morning.

[Flashback]

"Clara." Jonathan had stopped her just as she reached the front door.

She turned around. "Yes, Dad?"

He smiled warmly. "You’re family now."

Clara blinked.

"So don’t ever hesitate to let us spoil you." His smile softened.

"Just like Hannah, you’re my daughter too."

Clara felt her heart warm at those words.

Jonathan chuckled before adding mischievously,

"And whenever you need help..." He leaned in conspiratorially. "...even if it’s to gang up on that stubborn husband of yours, call me."

Clara couldn’t help laughing. "Dad..."

Jonathan winked. "I’ve known Dominic his entire life."

A smug smile spread across his face. "I know every single one of his weaknesses."

Clara’s eyes sparkled. "Really?"

"Of course."

Jonathan folded his arms confidently. "If he ever bullies you, don’t argue with him."

"What should I do then?"

Jonathan grinned. "Call your father. I’ll deal with him."

Remembering the conversation, Clara couldn’t stop smiling.

Back in the present, Hannah looked at her with a complicated expression before shaking her head with a helpless laugh.

"I honestly don’t know whether Dad has adopted you... or completely abandoned Brother."
