"You damn girl, what are you laughing at, what’s so funny?" Lin Kong cursed as he gathered all his strength in his fist and swung it at her.
Xuexue crouched down, dodged his attack, then lifted her leg and kicked hard right at his butt...
Lin Kong never would’ve dreamed Xuexue would pull that move. His footing slipped, and he stumbled forward several steps. He hurriedly performed power to steady himself. His stance was stabilized, but the pain in his hand grew worse. He lowered his head and saw the black lines on his palm slowly spreading upward. Startled, he quickly reached out and tapped several Acupoints on his own body.
Only this way, by cutting off blood circulation, could he keep the poison from spreading.
Xuexue didn’t attack again; she stopped and asked, "Lin Kong, as long as you tell me what your real purpose is for staying in Moli Country, I can let you go."
Lin Kong had always thought highly of himself. Now that Xuexue said she’d let him off, he felt insulted. "Who’s letting who off, that’s still up in the air!"
Panicking, he forgot his hand was poisoned and performed power, slamming a palm strike straight toward Xuexue.
Xuexue hadn’t expected him to lash out like a cornered dog. Poisoned as he was, he still dared to perform power and attack her.
She didn’t even think; she sent out a palm of her own, meeting Lin Kong’s strike head-on...
"Boom...!"
"Whoosh... thud...!"
After several sounds rang out, Xuexue had originally thought she would suffer for it. After all, Lin Kong’s Inner Strength was astonishing. Now that he was ignoring the deadly poison in his hand and going all-out against her, she was no match for him at all. But when she steadied herself and looked, Lin Kong had actually vanished into thin air; his figure was nowhere to be seen around her.
Just as Xuexue was puzzling over it, she heard Xiao Jiu croak loudly, "Awesome, it worked! Master sent the big baddie flying!"
Xuexue was completely dumbfounded. She lowered her head and looked at her own palm. Was she really that badass?
"Ah...!"
Suddenly, a shrill scream sounded. Xuexue looked up and saw a black dot in the sky hurtling toward her. The situation was critical; if she didn’t dodge right now, she’d be turned into a meat patty.
She rolled several times, getting away from where she’d been standing.
"Splat!"
Before Xuexue could scramble up from the ground, something heavy slammed down. When she focused, it was Lin Kong. He lay on the ground, howling in pain. "Ow... ow...!"
Xuexue walked over and gave him a kick, saying, "Hey! Quit playing dead. Get up, now!"
"Ow ow, it hurts so bad!" Lin Kong ignored Xuexue and kept crying out loudly in pain.
From the looks of it, he really seemed badly hurt. Xuexue lowered her guard a notch, getting ready to send a signal so someone could come tie Lin Kong up and take him back. After all, he was Wei Country’s Think Tank. This was no trivial matter; if she wasn’t careful, she could end up as the culprit who sparked a war between two countries. She was not about to carry that blame.
Xuexue was just about to go find some herbs to dress his wounds, completely failing to notice that Lin Kong, lying on the ground, suddenly had a terrifying gleam in his eyes. He abruptly pulled a sharp dagger from his chest and stabbed it viciously toward Xuexue.
Caught off guard, Xuexue was stabbed in the thigh. The pain made cold sweat pour down her face, and her whole body curled up on the ground.
Just as Lin Kong was about to follow up with a second stab, his vision blurred and a tiger leaped out of nowhere. If his reflexes hadn’t been quick, it would’ve already pounced him to the ground.
"Roar...!" The tiger let out an angry roar at him.
Lin Kong jumped in fright at first, but when he took a closer look, it turned out to be the Thousand Year Striped Tiger that had vanished the last time. He couldn’t help but feel a surge of joy. Truly, you wear out iron shoes searching everywhere, only to find it without any effort at all.
Just as he was feeling lucky, the Little Tiger kept lifting its head to the sky, letting out one tiger’s roar after another...
"Rooaar... rooaar!"
In no time, roars of tigers came from all directions. The momentum was massive, as if hundreds, thousands of tigers were roaring together. The whole Xiao Shan ridge trembled; it felt like the ground itself was shaking.
