"It’s done..."

Adrian looked at his forearms. Both of them were covered in patterns that looked like scribbles. It was only four days until month-end, and he had finally completed all three of his tasks.

He observed the engraving on his right arm.

For the first task, he had managed to successfully replicate the engraving he had seen on Ravian’s arm. The engraving of the spell that allowed one to pull someone else’s consciousness into their mind realm.

’It should work fine.’

Replicating the engraving hadn’t been as simple as copying the one on Ravian’s arm. He had to understand the underlying principle behind the engraving and then design one for himself.

After all, that spell was something that had been created for Ravian specifically.

It was a spell that would’ve worked only if Ravian had used it.

’That was probably some technique to ensure that the spell didn’t get stolen. The one who created Ravian’s spell knew what they were doing.’

After studying the original design, Adrian had finally succeeded in creating a version of that spell that he could use.

’Now who should I test it on...’

Now that he had successfully created the spell, he would obviously need to test it to see its effect. That would also help him identify if there were any problems that he needed to fix or if there were any improvements he could make.

The function of this spell was simple. As long as Adrian was in direct physical contact with a being that possessed a consciousness, their consciousness would be pulled into the immutable world.

Unless they had an Origin ability similar to his own—something that made them immune to mental abnormality—they would not be able to resist this process either. And it would be hard for them to resist it, even if they did possess such an ability.

After all, Ravian had been able to pull Adrian’s consciousness into his mind realm—the Library of Mnemosyne—without much effort.

’But I can’t just test it on anyone.’

Whoever he pulled into his mind world would see the earth’s infrastructure. While that wasn’t anything too strange on its own and wouldn’t help them reach any conclusion, it would definitely plant a seed of doubt in their minds.

On the other hand, he didn’t really need to test this on a person and could just test it on a beast. But he wouldn’t be able to find one in the academy city.

’Testing this spell would have to wait for now. As for its name.... Hmm... I should just call it Mind Realm spell.’

Letting out a sigh, Adrian shifted his focus to the engraving on his left arm.

It was the second thing he had been working on. This was the engraving for the Tier Three space element spell: Shift. Adrian had finally managed to find a way to use this short-distance teleportation spell properly and fixed one of his biggest weaknesses, which was mobility.

’It’s a good thing I managed to create this before going to the Island exploration mission. I need to test this too, but for now...’

He stood up and left the grand library. Soon, he arrived at the dormitory, stopping before the door of Evangeline’s room.

He knocked lightly.

Moments later, the door opened, and he was greeted by Evangeline’s face, who looked at him in confusion.

"Adi? What’s up?"

Adrian grabbed her hand without warning and began pulling herb along as he walked.

"Come with me for now."

They left the dormitory and soon arrived at a training field that was mostly empty.

Evangeline grumbled once again, just as she had been doing on the way here.

"Hey, Adi, are you gonna say something or not? Where are you taking me?"

Standing in the corner of the training ground, Adrian told her in his usual tone.

"Copy what I am doing."

As Evangeline tilted her head in confusion, Adrian channeled mana into his hand and began creating the formula of a spell.

By the time he finished, Evangeline blinked.

"Uh, isn’t that the formula for the Ruler of Waves spell?"

Ignoring her comment, Adrian spoke once again, this time a bit sternly.

"I told you to copy me, didn’t I?"

She looked at him doubtfully, then began channeling her mana. Moments later, she had also formed the magical formula of the Ruler of Waves spell, which looked completely identical to the spell formula Adrian had formed with his mana.

Of course, since Adrian didn’t possess water affinity, his spell wasn’t going to activate.

After that, Adrian began adding more patterns into the existing spell, changing it and making it denser. Evangeline furrowed her brow but still followed his lead.

After he was done, he turned to her.

"Now activate the spell."

Evangeline nodded and did exactly as he asked.

Moments later, a crown made of water materialized above her head.

But this crown was different from usual. A single small flame was burning at its tip. Above it was a halo of wind that contained fragments of tiny stones, making them spin in circles inside.

Evangeline blinked.

"What... is this?"

"This is the spell that you had asked me to create," Adrian replied in his usual dull tone. "Creating each spell individually would’ve taken more than half a year, so I simply modified the existing Ruler of Waves spell and made it so that it amplifies your control over all four of the elements you possess. I call this new spell Ruler of Elements."

He sighed.

"Thankfully, the process wasn’t too hard since all four of the spells would’ve had common aspects like manipulation and amplification, so I was able to merge them into a single spell. It would also make it easier for you to use in battle since you will only have to cast one spell instead of four. Of course, it’s not all good. As you’ve realized, this has caused the spell’s tier to go from Tier Two to Tier Three, so it will be harder to cast quickly."

Evangeline brushed her finger across the crown as she heard his explanation. After he finished, she channeled mana into the gold bracelets she wore. Moments later, tiny droplets of water, wisps of flame, mini wind vortices, and small fragments of rock all materialized around her.

And as Adrian quietly watched from the side, Evangeline began testing out the effects of the spells with a bright smile on her face.

From what he was able to observe, the Ruler of Elements spell was working just as he had intended, greatly amplifying her control over all four of her elements.

And so, Evangeline spent several hours playing with the spell.

With her amplified control, she created many of the things that they had encountered in the past.

Things like the full plate stone armor they had to attack during their practical exam, a stone sculpture of herself with fire as the hair and the rest made of stone. She even started copying Saria, creating an axe that looked very similar to the one she always created during the practical exam and the ranking duels. The only difference was that this axe was made of stone instead of platinum.

Evangeline cheered.

"This is so awesome! I love it!" She turned around, as if to rush off. "I am gonna release the Ruler of Waves spell from my tiara and seal this spell in it instead."

But before she could go anywhere, Adrian grabbed her wrist.

"You didn’t forget our deal, correct? I gave you plenty of time, so I hope my sword is ready."
