"Your spears cannot penetrate me."
Odir grunted as his twin axes moved with terrifying precision, knocking away each spear that came within his reach.
The first weapon shot toward his chest, only for his right axe to sweep upward and send it spinning away, while another immediately came from his blind spot and was intercepted by his second axe.
More followed from every direction, forcing Odir to twist, duck, and shift his footing through the air as his weapons constantly flashed between the incoming attacks.
Olium watched calmly as Odir continued to defend himself, his expression gradually becoming more serious. With a subtle movement of his hand, the spears changed their trajectories, curving through the air to attack Odir from behind, above, and both sides at once.
Odir responded instantly, ducking beneath one spear before smashing another aside, then crossing his axes to catch two more between their blades and violently snapping them apart.
Olium finally opened his palm.
"You think so?"
A single spear materialized above his hand before countless others began appearing behind him. Within seconds, thousands of spears floated behind the elf, stretching across the sky in an enormous formation, their sharp points all directed toward Odir as the surrounding air seemed to tremble beneath their overwhelming presence.
"Then how about a thousand?"
With a simple flick of his finger, every spear shot forward at once.
The sky seemed to disappear beneath the enormous barrage as thousands of weapons rushed toward Odir from every direction, creating a storm of silver that completely overwhelmed the space around him.
Odir’s expression hardened as he tightened his grip around his twin axes. The first wave struck almost immediately, forcing him to swing both weapons repeatedly as spear after spear came crashing against his blades, each collision producing sparks that illuminated his figure through the storm of weapons.
More spears came from above while others curved around his sides, attempting to strike him from behind.
Odir ducked beneath one, twisted around another, and smashed a third aside before using its momentum to redirect it into several incoming weapons, causing them to collide in midair.
Olium continued summoning more.
The weapons seemed endless, replacing every spear Odir destroyed with several more. Odir’s breathing gradually became heavier as the strain began to accumulate, but his movements remained precise, his axes constantly shifting between defense and offense as he fought through the overwhelming barrage.
A spear suddenly rushed toward his face.
Odir tilted his head just enough for the weapon to pass within inches of his cheek before his axe swung backward without him even looking.
The blade struck the spear with such force that it shattered instantly, sending fragments spinning through the air.
Another wave descended upon him.
Then, just as the final weapons closed in, Odir roared and swung both axes outward.
A violent shockwave erupted from his body, blasting the surrounding spears away in every direction. The weapons scattered across the sky, some spinning wildly while others collided with one another, and when the storm finally cleared, Odir remained standing at its center with his twin axes crossed before his chest.
Not a single spear had pierced him.
Odir slowly lowered his weapons and stared toward Olium, his breathing heavier than before but his expression still carrying the same confidence.
"Still not enough."
Before Olium could respond, a raspy voice suddenly interrupted the battlefield.
"The lizardman and the elven druid people have finally met."
Both Odir and Olium immediately stopped fighting and turned toward the source of the voice. Below them stood Moleius, calmly observing the two ancient warriors as the remaining spears floating through the sky began disappearing one after another.
"A total of thirty draws, is it?"
Neither of them bothered arguing.
They simply followed Moleius inside, where the three ancient beings gathered around a large round table. Once seated, they activated Intangible Spectation and turned their attention toward the events unfolding below.
Olium’s eyes narrowed. "Who is that? A group of humans?"
"Must be merchants," Odir replied.
Several minutes later, the forces below finished introducing themselves.
Olium’s expression changed when he heard one particular name.
"Retian?"
"The one said to have received an artifact directly from the entity?" Moleius asked.
Olium remained silent for a moment. "Did the entity lead him here?"
"Perhaps."
Moleius’s eyes remained fixed upon the battlefield below.
"Then our chances have increased."
Odir looked toward the humans accompanying Retian.
"The humans beside him appear strong as well. Especially that woman."
Olium nodded slowly.
"The entity truly has everything planned."
--
Meanwhile, the entity was watching the exact same scene.
Liam stared at the gathered forces with growing amusement.
"Avengers..."
He leaned closer to the scene. "It’s like a bunch of superheroes banded together to fight a monster. I mean, Zillagod is a monster after all, but I didn’t expect a group of humans to show up and help them too."
His attention eventually settled on Retian.
"I wonder if that frail little boy finally managed to grow into a proper man."
Liam then remembered something.
"System, what are the chances of them defeating Zillagod?"
[Approximately less than 5%.]
Liam’s expression immediately changed.
"What? Why is it so low?"
[Zillagod is classified as a planetary threat. The beings currently assembled are not even capable of defeating a single dragon individually.]
Liam stared at the battlefield.
"Is that so...?"
Before he could continue observing, another notification appeared before him.
[Player has reached a global population of 50,000,000.]
[Reward acquired: Astral Projection.]
[Description: Similar to Intangible Spectation, but allows the player to observe locations across space. Maximum observation radius: 10 light-years.]
Liam’s eyes widened. "Wait... I can finally get out of my planetary system?"
He immediately opened the player chatroom.
Red Rings: Anyone got Astral Projection?
Almost immediately, several responses appeared.
Dr. Diagnosis: I recently got Astral Projection.
X_X: Astral Projection? Anyone else got that?
Lynx: I got it as well.
Liam stared at the messages.
"What?, Did we all get the same skill at the exact same time?"
Red Rings: What...
Dr. Diagnosis: ...It looks like the system was telling the truth. We really do progress at the same time.
Lynx: I still can’t process this...
