A massive horn echoed across the shoreline, its deep sound rolling over the water and reaching every soldier gathered along the coast.
Thousands of warriors immediately turned toward the sea, gripping weapons forged through countless battles as the armies of Humans, Lizardmen, Elves, Druids, and Fishmen stood ready for the creature that had threatened their lands. The combined force stretched across the shore like a sea of soldiers, yet even their enormous numbers seemed insignificant against the scale of what was approaching.
At the front stood the group of humans alongside the two Lizardman leaders, The elven leader, Erid, The druid warrior, Adin. Each prepared to lead the forces into battle. Behind them, thousands of warriors formed organized ranks, their weapons raised and their eyes fixed upon the distant waters. Nobody spoke anymore, as the silence before the battle carried a weight far greater than any command.
A massive shape suddenly emerged from the shallow waters.
Zillagod’s enormous body moved beneath the surface, displacing so much water that waves crashed against the shoreline as though a storm had suddenly appeared.
Its back was covered in enormous pointed scales, each one large enough to resemble a fortress wall, while its reptilian head slowly rose above the water and cast a shadow across the surrounding shore.
Beside the creature, Fishmen sounded their seashell horns, their calls echoing across the battlefield as they desperately warned the armies of its arrival.
"EVERYONE! It has finally shown itself!" one of the Fishmen shouted.
The soldiers behind him trembled.
Some tightened their grips around their weapons while others swallowed nervously, staring at the colossal creature before them. Yet despite the fear spreading through the ranks, not a single soldier abandoned their position.
Then Erid rose into the sky.
A radiant glow surrounded the elven leader as he flew above the army, his figure shining against the darkening horizon. The sight immediately steadied the soldiers below, reminding them that they were not facing the monster alone.
"He flew... like a griffon," Retian muttered as he watched Erid ascend.
"I heard the previous elven leader could fly like that as well," someone nearby replied.
Before anyone could say more, Zillagod released a deafening roar.
The sound shook the shoreline.
Several soldiers instinctively flinched and clenched their weapons tighter as the roar rolled across the battlefield, powerful enough to make the water surrounding the creature ripple violently. Even from such a distance, they could feel the sheer force contained within that single cry.
Cull raised his weapon. "Prepare to unleash!"
Erid’s body became enveloped in radiant energy, and countless spears began materializing behind him. They floated in enormous formations across the sky, their sharpened points aimed directly toward Zillagod as the elven leader gathered his power for the first strike.
At the same time, Adin raised the powerful staff of Moleius, its tip beginning to glow with an intense light that rapidly grew brighter. Trias also lifted the mysterious orb in her hands and closed her eyes, causing the artifact to illuminate with a strange energy that spread across her body.
"Attack!"
Erid’s command echoed across the battlefield.
The sky erupted.
Thousands of spears launched forward from behind Erid, filling the heavens with a massive silver barrage. At the same time, Adin released a tremendous explosion from Moleius’s staff, while the Lizardman armies unleashed their own attacks, turning the shoreline into a storm of projectiles that tore through the air toward Zillagod.
Then Trias opened her eyes.
A wave of glacial energy erupted from the orb, racing across the battlefield and freezing everything in its path as it joined the other attacks. The combined assault illuminated the entire coastline, countless projectiles crossing the sky until they finally collided with Zillagod.
The impact was catastrophic.
Explosions erupted across the creature’s body, sending enormous waves crashing outward and throwing columns of water hundreds of meters into the air. The force of the combined attack created a wall of smoke and debris that completely swallowed Zillagod’s head, while the ground beneath the soldiers trembled from the impact.
"So powerful..." an elf whispered, his eyes widening as he watched the destruction.
"There is no way something that powerful could survive that," a druid said, his voice filled with renewed determination.
"What kind of abilities..."
For several seconds, nobody could see the creature.
Then the smoke began to clear.
Zillagod was still there.
Its enormous head emerged from the clouds of smoke, its body remaining almost completely motionless as water poured from its scales. There were no visible wounds, no blood, and not even a noticeable change in its expression.
"No..." a Lizardman whispered, his voice shaking. "No effects?"
Erid stared at the creature, his eyes widening as doubt began creeping into his mind. He bit his lower lip before turning toward the soldiers and forcing confidence into his voice.
"Don’t lose hope! It’s hurting from the inside!"
Even Erid knew he had no proof. "Continue the attack!"
The armies obeyed.
Another wave of attacks filled the sky, followed by another and another, until the battlefield became a continuous storm of magic, weapons, explosions, and elemental energy. The shoreline disappeared beneath the destruction as mountains of water were thrown into the air, the ground cracked beneath the soldiers’ feet, and enormous explosions repeatedly swallowed Zillagod’s body.
Yet the creature continued moving.
Slowly, Zillagod reached the shore.
Its enormous limbs emerged from the water and slammed into the earth, causing the ground to tremble violently beneath the armies. Every step sent shockwaves across the battlefield, while its towering body rose higher and higher until the soldiers below could barely comprehend its full size.
A Fishman suddenly turned pale. "Prepare yourselves! It’s going to attack! Get away from the shoreline!"
Zillagod raised its head.
A deep roar emerged from its throat, followed by a strange whistle that grew louder with every passing second. The creature opened its massive jaws, and an intense light began gathering deep within its mouth, growing brighter until the surrounding air itself appeared to distort from the heat and power.
Erid’s expression changed.
He immediately understood that whatever was coming next was nothing like the attacks they had just endured.
"HIDE! HIDE! HIDE!"
His voice thundered across the battlefield.
The armies finally broke formation as soldiers desperately rushed for cover, abandoning their positions for the first time since the battle began. Behind them, Zillagod’s mouth continued glowing brighter and brighter, illuminating the entire shoreline as the creature prepared to unleash its devastating breath.
