Akuma had finally become an official student of Gajia Academy after successfully passing the entrance examination. Out of the three hundred applicants who had entered the examination hall, only thirty remained, and each of them was now recognized as a student of one of the most prestigious academies on the continent.
As part of their enrollment, the new students were given a special item known as a Gajia Stone. It was a small stone engraved with the academy’s insignia, serving as proof that its bearer was an official member of Gajia Academy, and even outside the institution, possessing one was considered an honor because of the tremendous magical power contained within it.
After receiving his stone, Akuma was instructed to head toward his assigned dormitory. As he walked through the academy’s corridors, however, he couldn’t help but stare at the magical items scattered throughout the place, from floating tables powered by enchanted stones that responded to a simple touch, to lamps that produced light without flames and stones that continuously released cold air.
"These stones are merely being used as tools. If I sold all of these, I could probably buy several farmlands."
Akuma glanced around in disbelief, realizing just how different the academy was from the village where he had grown up. To the people here, objects that could potentially change an ordinary family’s life were nothing more than everyday conveniences.
After walking for a while, Akuma finally found the door to his assigned dormitory. He touched the Gajia Stone against the door, and the lock immediately responded, opening with a soft click.
His eyes widened.
The room was far more luxurious than anything he had ever imagined, with a bed made from high-grade cotton, a blanket woven from the hide of a special beast, and a sturdy table crafted from wood said to have been harvested deep within the Elven Forest.
Akuma stood frozen for several moments as he looked around the room. Gajia Academy truly lived up to its reputation.
The following morning, Akuma was abruptly awakened by a voice coming from the Gajia Stone beside his bed.
"Fresh students of Batch 15-B, please prepare yourselves and proceed to your first class."
The voice paused for a moment before continuing.
"Your food will be delivered shortly."
Akuma quickly got out of bed and began preparing himself for his first day of classes. He changed into the clothes hanging nearby, their design and quality immediately reminding him that he was now part of an institution far more prestigious than anything he had known before.
Several minutes later, a knock came from the door.
Akuma opened it and found a woman standing outside, pushing the same type of floating table he had seen throughout the academy. Several dishes were neatly arranged across its surface, and the woman handed him a plate containing eggs, bread, and a generous piece of beast meat.
"Thank you."
Akuma took the plate and began eating, his expression gradually brightening as he tasted the food. After finishing his meal with complete satisfaction, he left his dormitory and headed toward his first class.
When Akuma entered the classroom, he found dozens of students from different races already seated inside. The spacious room contained rows of chairs facing the front, where the instructor would stand, and its size was comparable to a medium-sized house.
Akuma took his seat, unable to hide his excitement as he looked around the classroom. After hearing so much about Gajia Academy, he was finally going to experience its teachings for himself.
His gaze soon landed on several familiar faces from the entrance examination.
The heir of Etia, Rize Drough, sat calmly with her attention fixed toward the front of the room, her long red hair gently swaying whenever the wind passed through the open windows. Nearby sat Akira Prosei, the daughter of the famous merchant family, whose composed demeanor was strikingly similar to Rize’s.
Then Akuma’s eyes shifted toward the proud elf, Ragnir Rootil, who sat patiently in his seat while waiting for the instructor to arrive.
Suddenly, the classroom door opened.
A large figure stepped inside, immediately drawing the attention of everyone in the room. The man possessed a massive frame covered in dark fur, with a long tail extending behind him, while both of his hands remained casually buried within the pockets of his uniform.
He stopped before the class and looked across the new students.
"Welcome, newcomers."
His voice carried a deep, confident tone that instantly silenced the room.
"Is he a werewolf?"
"Why is a werewolf here in the academy? Aren’t they supposed to be predators of humans?"
A lizardman blurted out the question without hesitation, causing several students around him to turn their attention toward the massive instructor. Raquan’s expression immediately soured, and he slowly brought one palm over his face as though he had already grown tired of the class.
After a moment, he lowered his hand and sighed.
"I am Raquan Paw, your physical instructor. And before anyone else asks, yes, I know I resemble a werewolf."
He paused, his eyes sweeping across the students.
"However, I am a beastman from the southern continent. We are not werewolves."
"A foreigner?"
A griffon raised his voice from somewhere within the classroom, his tone carrying a hint of curiosity.
Raquan’s ears twitched slightly, but he ignored the comment and continued with his introduction. Meanwhile, Akuma stared at him with undisguised amusement, his eyes shining with curiosity.
"It’s my first time seeing a beastman."
Akuma had grown up in a small village where the people he encountered were mostly members of his own race or the common races that occasionally passed through the nearby settlements. Seeing someone from an entirely different continent sitting before him as an instructor was something he found genuinely fascinating.
Raquan finally turned toward the board and picked up a piece of chalk.
"For our first class, however, we will not be discussing anything physical."
The room gradually became quieter as everyone focused their attention on him.
"Today, we will be covering the introduction and history of this world, along with some of the basic knowledge that every student of Gajia Academy is expected to understand."
