Chapter 932: Chapter 932: Beauty To Stupidity
"I’ve never died before, and I don’t plan on dying anytime soon," Teez said, shrugging his shoulders and walking to the front.
Eventually, he took the lead with his only two consorts beside him.
Raychel suddenly burst into a fit of laughter, "Oh darling, we’re on a battlefield.
Death will come surely," She said ominously.
Teez raised an eyebrow, "Do you plan on dying?" He asked.
Up ahead, Olivia suddenly stopped walking and bent her head, lowering her shoulders.
Teez and the others quickly caught up to her and saw what she was looking at.
"Hehehe, I’ve never died before. But there’s a first time for everything.
Oh darling, we must die, we surely must!" Victoria shouted bashfully, grabbing hold of Teez’s arm.
Teez rolled his eyes. Was he tired? Nope. Was he scared? Probably.
Under the guidance of Xu Ying and other helpful lions who wanted to be friends with him after they discovered the daughters of the All-King liked him, he was able to integrate into the brutal society of the lions.
He survived, Teez was thankful for that. It was something worth rejoicing.
He did not have combat experience and some common knowledge had it beaten into him. It was in Leonine Heaven that Teez understood the true meaning of might makes right.
His knuckles had been cracked open from the sheer amount of hard punches he had to throw. His bones were shattered by the hits he took, his eyes were nearly bulged out.
What was amazing was that this was the regular experience for new lion cubs and Teez was just getting this treatment because he was a new member.
They did not take it easy on him because he was the son-in-law of the All-King. On the contrary, they took their lion society introduction to the extreme.
After all, survival of the fittest was key here. If he died during the process, it just meant that he was not built to be a lion despite being a Chimera.
And through all these things that he experienced, his Consorts, Victoria and Raychel, were the light at the end of the tunnel for him.
He did not survive the ordeal because of them, but he was definitely glad they were waiting for him at the finish line.
Why they had taken a liking to him at this point, he did not know. Maybe it was because he was handsome but that could not be so.
Lionesses appreciated the handsome the same way lions appreciated the beautiful. They only cared about it to a certain extent.
What matters the most more than anything was competence. The ability to do. Power.
That he was handsome was a plus feature that any lioness could do without. There were already cases of lions killing their attractive cubs and pride leaders slaughtering their beautiful consorts.
Beauty and handsomeness were not a defining standard for them.
It couldn’t be helped either. Based on actual statistics brought up by the various intelligent experts over the years, attractiveness tended to breed some undesirable traits that lions could not tolerate.
Individuals who usually grew up attractive tended not to have competition because their peers would most likely treat them differently or desire them sexually.
Lack of competition causes these individuals to become moronic and incompetent, as intelligence and skill can only be honed in the presence of competition.
Instead of these individuals attending to their skills and cognitive abilities, they would spend more time taking care of their attractive appearance.
In the short term, this didn’t matter. It was good to look nice once in a while. But long term, it caused one to become stupid.
This could be seen in all corners of life. It was no secret the Peacocks were one of the dumbest and weakest races when it came to combat.
Sure, they were aesthetically pleasing. And many lions have gone to them for transactional sexual relationships. But that was it.
The Lions didn’t operate like the standard human civilization that Teez had come from where beautiful women were called mysterious beings for exhibiting acts of stupidity and handsome men were fawned over despite being incompetent.
The lions would get rid of anyone that was a liability to them as fast as possible. No need to involve emotions when it comes to survival.
So, with that logic, it was impossible to say that the reason why Raychel and Victoria fell for him was that he was handsome.
As for his personal strength. It was not good. He was still at the peak of tier 4 and approaching tier 5 even after using a lot of honey.
Not much time had passed since he became a lion but he was still under pressure, which is the main reason he agreed to come to Draconic Heaven in the first place.
The only explanation would be that they saw potential in him. Potential that he himself couldn’t see.
Also, his two consorts were tier 7. There was no shame in the weak seeking protection from the strong. Just that the weak should not expect the strong to treat them fairly.
This wasn’t a democracy, and that had been hammered into his head by Ozia himself.
Perhaps, Teez may be able to get more consorts in the future. He did not plan on doing so though, he was already satisfied and stressed with the two he already had.
"Let’s wait for the other aunties to come first," Teez said, choosing to ignore his consorts for now.
"There’s no need for that, they already spotted us," Olivia suddenly said, narrowing her eyes.
Before Teez could question what she said, Olivia tilted her head to the side, dodging a red beam that missed her by a few inches.
The beam instantly hit Teez who was directly behind her, blasting him back all the way until he slammed into the metal body of the colossal arkship.
"BABYYYY!" Victoria screamed hysterically as though someone had killed her mother.
Her body burst into a cloud of flames, dashing toward her beloved while Raychel turned into a stream of pink electricity that launched herself to the side.
Olivia was the only one that remained standing. She didn’t look back, completely sure that her luck would rub off on Teez and he would be okay.
Instead, her eyes were focused on the source of the thin red beam.
She saw it.
A light wyvern. And it wasn’t just one. Many flew into the sky. The group had already been noticed.
This was bad.
"I’ll kill all of you!" Raychel screamed, her eyes spewing a dangerous amount of pink lightning. She leaped into the air, rushing toward the incoming flock of bus-sized Wyverns before Olivia could say anything.
Like a beam of light, Raychel covered the distance, crushing the land beneath her feet and brandishing her electricity-covered claws at the first wyvern that appeared in front of her.
Like a breeze, the daughter of the All-King weaved through the winged sub dragons, dodging the various elemental attacks and spilling dragon blood everywhere.
Meanwhile, Victoria landed in front of Teez who had slid to the ground. Teez had a massive black scorched mark in his chest, staining his white hoodie and revealing a bit of the muscular chest he had beneath his attire.
"Uhm..." Teez blinked, coming back to his senses. He felt an arm on his shoulders and muffled voices filled the inside of his white furred ears. His eyes twitched as he brought himself back to proper thinking.
"Darling, are you okay?"
Teez started recognizing the voice and his vision cleared. However, the first thing he did after coming to his senses was not to respond to her.
Instantly, Teez’s cold blue eyes flashed with white electricity. His hands pressed against the metal body of the arkship behind him and he launched himself forward.
Following a deafening roar, Teez shot forward, raising his arms into the air and erecting a wall of ice around them.
Almost at the same time, the rising walls of ice began to crack as multiple beams struck the outer perimeter.
Victoria understood what was going on. She already sensed those attacks but hadn’t reacted in time. She discovered that she may be a bit too reckless and this could cost her the life of her pride leader.
Standing up and watching the string back of her darling, Victoria growled. Seven lion tails sprouted from her back like that of a peacock’s, spreading out to form the shape of a fan.
The atmosphere around her immediately became uncomfortable. The temperature rose drastically.
Out of the tails that were literally up behind her, the Red Flame and the Original Two were the ones that burned the brightest.
Watching the ice walls erected by Teez starting to melt, Victoria did not play around any longer.
She waved her hand, sending out a curved arch of blue fire that burned into the distance, killing hundreds of wyverns at once.
"Where is the Mantis?" Teez suddenly asked a question that they should have asked a long time ago.
