Chapter 944: Chapter 944: House Masters
One year later.
At another corner of the galaxy.
"Seth still hasn’t been found?" Asked the Patriarch of the House of Luthor.
Before him were the Patriarchs of other Houses for the Cat civilization. All of them were in their humanoid forms, sporting different patterns of stances and builds.
Some were surprisingly large for someone of their species, probably a few inches short of seven feet tall. Some were the standard five-plus feet.
Either way, every single one of them was powerful and the weakest among them was a Mid-Level Immortal. The strongest was a High Level Immortal, just a few steps away from becoming a Supreme like the Luthor Patriarch.
There were also a few Supreme Level Immortals other than the Luthor Patriarch. Two to be exact. One of them was Zayna, the black-skinned cat lady with long, white hair, adorned in Egyptian-themed attire.
The last one was a male and just like the Luthor Patriarch, he too.was the House Master of his own house.
However, based on status, it was clear that the Luthor Patriarch was the elected leader amongst all other House Masters.
In total, excluding the Luthor Patriarch, there were at least more than a thousand of these House Masters. That was a lot.
All of them sat cross-legged on the ground because this was the tradition of cats whenever they were having important meetings at any section or rank of society.
They attended these meetings and sat around as though they were in a school classroom.
All of them would sit cross-legged on the floor or the air and face the same direction where the speaker would be.
That was how this meeting was constructed, all the House Masters were seated and listening to the Luthor Patriarch.
"No," Said Zayna, blinking her golden eyes as she was deep in thought.
The Luthor Patriarch frowned but didn’t say anything. It was a very brief question that had been asked using telepathy. No one knew about it.
But although he remained poised, the Luthor Patriarch was fuming within. For two years now, Seth, his most promising son, was missing.
Not even his clones had been found anywhere, they all seemed to have just disappeared.
At first, the father thought that Seth had just run away. After all, he was not dumb. He knew that his son had his own plans that deviated from what the Patriarch wanted.
It was inevitable that there would be friction between them at some point. Besides, this was not the first time that Seth suddenly disappeared without any warning.
He was always doing it.
However, during those times, it wasn’t hard to find him as those who knew him could just find one of his clones or he would just end up showing up on his own.
This time, no one could find a single clone and it has been more than two years now.
Time was passing very fast since the feline upper echelons participated with the bare minimum at that war at the Draconic Heaven.
If it was just merely one of his many sons that had gone missing, the Luthor Patriarch wouldn’t care.
But this was not just his son born from a mother that he had barely spoken to since the first intimacy, this was a Primordial.
The Primordial Cat of their entire race. Something had to be done to find him and they had to find him as soon as possible.
For the Luthor Patriarch, the Primordial Cat was very crucial if he wanted to finish his plans, whether it was his son or not.
"House Master of Luthor," One of the House Masters at the front of the seated audience spoke up with his voice, gaining the attention of everyone in the hall.
"Please, speak," The Luthor Patriarch said casually and relaxed his brows. He was the elected leader after all, not exactly the strongest leader.
No one actually knew who was stronger amongst the top three cats and it was better that way. The elected status meant that he had to treat those who put him in power well.
"Have you heard about the rumors of the gods?" The House Master asked. Immediately, everyone sat up. Zayna, the other Supreme Level Cat, and the Luthor Patriarch had to straighten their backs.
This conversation was bound to come up sooner or later.
"Yes, I have heard, and I have confirmed from a source that it is in fact true," The Luthor Patriarch said, taking away the other House Master’s desire to ask more questions.
By source, he was referring to a few Supreme Level Primordials that he may or may not have coincidentally come across in the past year.
"Then it is settled," Another House Master, a large man with a bushy orange and white cat tail behind him said as he scratched his lap.
"What?" Zayna asked, raising her eyebrows she turned around.
"We all have a chance of reaching the Divine Tier. It is no longer a myth." The orange-tailed House Master said.
His words stirred the hearts of all the cats and caused greed to flash in their eyes.
Seeing this, the Luthor Patriarch sighed, putting his hands behind his back and letting his six ears twitch out of annoyance.
The civilization of Cats was heavily focused on being independent of themselves which was quite contrary to seeing that they tended to station themselves uncomfortably close to other races.
When it came to being independent, no one was more proud of themselves than the cats. But they were also a fascinating group of exploiters who tended to use other creatures for their benefits repeatedly.
It was unclear if their independence was actually real or if they were just sharing a joint delusion of their capabilities.
The Luthor Patriarch knew this as he was doing it. Except, he was doing it to his own race and son, not some other civilization or creature.
"I hope you all are aware that we must first have a Primordial to assist any ordinary creature in entering the Divine Tier.
Otherwise, it is impossible.
Even then, even if we do succeed, we ordinary people are restricted to the Semi Divine Tier..." The Luthor Patriarch said.
