Chapter 946: Chapter 946: Change Versus Order

Myriad Heaven.

The skies...

They were stranger than ever..

The skies of Myriad Heaven were like a vast collection of multicolored paintings that stretched to the very horizons, creating a bridge of existence that united all sides of the heavenly realm.

*BOOM!*

That same colorful sky was viciously ripped apart by a violent surge of multicolored energy, tearing through the fabric of space and time like a hot knife through butter.

Thousands upon thousands of slimes flew into the sky, launched off the ground with incredible power. Their buoyant forms streaked through the shattering sky, slamming straight into the swarm of ants that kept on coming.

At one corner, the whole concept of space, time, and gravity was constantly being destroyed and redefined as two godly entities battled for dominion.

The Slime God, his true form manifesting as an ever-changing gigantic slime mass, entangled with his foe.

His enemy, the one and only Order, the Ant God, did not relent at all. With four sharp mandibles, six antennas, and an ever-changing set of eyes and legs that ended in sharp needle-like tips.

The Ant God and Slime God clashed repeatedly. Their battle wasn’t ordinary, it was sad from it.

With ordinary eyes, one may simply see two eldritch beings throw heavy physical attacks at each other.

But on a deeper level, the fight was absolutely world-breaking, just contained.

They were not just fighting physically, not at all. The very concepts that they represented fought with them.

The very thing that symbolized their existence and gave them purpose moved their attacks and defense. It dictated how these gods tried to bite each other and what they even intended to achieve with every injury they tried to inflict.

Order and Change, two very significant pillars of a stable universe. If one of them were to die, the universe would seriously be affected. Even an Alphaverse would be affected.

Yet, they attacked each other with the intent not just to suppress, but to kill and destroy.

Their battle was taking place in different dimensions at the same time. Over a hundred pocket realms had been forced open where different versions of this same battle were happening.

In some dimensions, the Slime God turned into a galactic whip, constraining the Ant God and crushing the cosmic exoskeleton that protected the latter.

He was winning.

But in other dimensions, the Ant God drained supreme, chowing down in the mucus of the slime and slurping up the insides of his slimy enemy.

Each realm represented a possibility for Change and Order to take advantage. It was either one was winning, or the other was winning.

Change, being the law that it was, did exactly as it was designed to do. It changed things.

It changed things erratically. It made them go blind, go deaf, go limp, change color, remove color, and he made them do everything they didn’t want to do.

The ants around them were forced to literally change things about themselves. Their identities changed, their affiliations changed, and their minds were changed.

If not for the Ant God, who was seriously holding Change back, it would have been much worse than this.

The Slime God, on multiple occasions during the course of this fight, and in multiple dimensions of different realities, had tried to change the very foundational blueprint of the ant race.

Yes, he had tried to turn the ants into something that wasn’t an ant. He had tried turning them into his own slimes and many more creatures that would have rendered them useless to their gods.

And on a few occasions, he did succeed. There were multiple scenes earlier on of groups of ants suddenly brushed by a wave of pure Change power and then turning into goo or balls of fur.

The transformation was usually violent and very disturbing.

Unfortunately or fortunately, it never lasted as the Ant God, holding the ultimate authority over the ant race, was able to hold a massive lock on the whole army.

He tried but he never succeeded again after that. He and the Ant God could only settle for trying to kill each other directly.

It was now clear just how dangerous the Slime God actually was. If he had been allowed to roam free since the Second Generation of Races, it would mean that the slimes would be free.

And it would mean that that Change would have free rein to do as he liked because it was clear that he didn’t give two shits about the Rules of the Highest Will.

It was even possible that he could change the rules if not that he was being imprisoned here.

It became clear that the Highest Will might have been very insightful when he decided to lock Change up. If not, a lot of creatures would have had a very rough time adjusting to the universe that would have been very hostile to them.

But as powerful as the Law of Change was, if possible as at now that it was being used to fight the Ant God, it was still up against another powerful Law.

Order itself and its most raw form. The Ant God did not just resist what Change was trying to do, he was making everything around them absolutely rigid and frigid.

Nothing changed, nothing. Because to be orderly was to be unchanging. To be orderly was to be uncompromising, to be orderly was to be like an immovable pillar.

Absolutely rooted in upholding the structure of stability.

For it is only with order that there can be peace and stability.

So, at its most fundamental form, this was not merely a battle between two godly egos, it was a battle between two laws that were just not compatible with each other.

There was no wrong or right, just a matter of perspective.

As different dimensions were being created and demolished every minute to support the gargantuan scale of their frenzy, the sponsors and instigators were at the very far end of the Myriad Heaven, almost done with their work.

"How much longer?" Kael asked as he slapped one of the ants coming at him away.

"A few hours left," Seth replied.
