Reincarnated as a Lizard

Chapter 560: This... This is Blatant Dragon Discrimination!

"Ehm, I didn’t expect to run into you two again in this kind of way... Do you happen to know what place this is and if there are any deadly monsters around?" Knowing that nothing would come from just staring at each other, the leader of the adventurer group decided to break the silence with a rather forced cough before steering the conversation towards the safety of their surroundings.

"Huh? Deadly monsters? Unless you consider bath spirits deadly monsters or those near immortal elemental upgrades of them. I don’t think I need to introduce to you what kind of place this is..."

"That... I... My bad, my vision is still a bit blurry from the earlier landing..." Hearing Verdell’s response to his question, the adventurer leader couldn’t help smiling somewhat awkwardly as he took in the surroundings and realized just how meaningless his earlier question was.

A simple glance was all that was needed for one to realize where they had landed alongside the lack of danger with only those bath spirits and their upgraded elemental version around.

The only real threat they would have to face would be from other monsters trying to enter this bathhouse from the outside, something that was difficult to not notice ahead of time given how there was only one entrance into the bath section of the bathhouse- or there had only been one entrance, but they had just created a new one above them.

This aside, the place was safe and a perfect place for them to recover their strength-

"Leader! Look, the exit is right there!"

Or that was at least what he had thought about doing before one the adventurers behind him noticed the very out of place door standing in the middle of the bathhouse. A door that an experienced adventurer like himself also realized was the exit leading out of the dungeon that he and his group had wanted to find. Not just have a safe way out in case they ran into the construct from earlier again, but also to stop the necromancer from escaping.

At the same time, one of them would also be able to leave through the exit and inform the guild about the situation. Allowing them to respond accordingly before the Eternal Life Sanctum could move to try and capture the dungeon from them, something that would undoubtedly result in Temple Guard City becoming a far more important city than it already was while serving as an entry point into the dreamscape for the guild.

Blocking the exit out of the dungeon from the other side was of course something he wanted to do, but these kinds of exits at the lowest floor of a dungeon were random when it came to where you ended up once you stepped through it. Generally shifting to a new random location every few minutes. Making it impossible to block off.

"You, go and inform the guild about the situation and make sure they send more than just one person to clean up the situation, the number of monsters whose strength exceeds the SS Rank on this floor is at least three, while the necromancer also controls a bone construct with strength exceeding the SS Rank.

Don’t mention the damage the bone construct suffered, or those fellows will site a lack of personnel and will rely on the one who should have been dispatched to investigate the situation after the sudden expansion of the dungeon."

Knowing just what kind of situation they found themselves in, the leader quickly threw the task of informing the guild to one of adventurers who specialized in speed and had suffered some injuries during the earlier bouncing journey they had gone on as a group.

"Got it, I know how those fellows will try their best to avoid sending more people. At least with the emergence of an undead kingdom, they will have to sent over another one anyway so it shouldn’t be that difficult to convince them." Nodding his head in agreement with the leader, the adventurer in question didn’t linger around after receiving the task and quickly got up and made his way to the door.

Creaaack~

Following which he pushed open the door under the curious gaze of Scaly, who observed in close detail how the door that seemingly stood in the middle of the bath with nothing behind it revealed a lush forest on the other side.

"Looks like I’m lucky, it didn’t end up being somewhere up in the clouds..."

Something that the one about to leave through the door seemed quite happy about as he muttered a few words to himself before jumping through the door that slammed shut behind him after he passed through it and successfully left the Swirling Sands Dungeon.

"Are you two planning on leaving as well?" And as Scaly found herself observing the door more closely. Wondering how it worked, the leading adventurer spoke up. "Yeah, we are. No intention of staying here any longer than we already have. Ended up all the way down here by complete accident in the first place." Earning a quick reply from Verdell.

"You don’t say, we had no intention of coming here either, but..." And before she knew it, the leading adventurer had already started chatting away with Verdell, who was more than happy to take this opportunity to deepen his understanding of the guild and things he hadn’t been privy to in the past.

Not only learning quite a bit of information that wouldn’t even be available to someone in the S Rank but also learning about the mana circulation skill he had ended up picking up alongside Scaly.

In process, he also found out that the reason why information on how to obtain this unique skill wasn’t widespread, had to do with the fact that far too many adventurers ended up throwing their lives away trying to obtain the skill in the past, either dying on the lower floors or waiting for decades as their lifespan ran out for nothing.

This alone wasn’t enough for the guild and other major powers to seal away the information. Instead, the final nail in the coffin that caused them to restrict the information on the mana circulation skill came to be because some crazier individuals took things too far and began experimenting with ways to forcibly make a dungeon core expand in an attempt to not just obtain this unique skill but also rapidly raise its level.

Of course, this all ended in failure with several dungeons being lost in the process. Resulting in countless deaths and chaos throughout the world.

All of this had taken place thousands of years ago and the guild at the time, alongside other major powers, had taken advantage of the chaos that had spread throughout the world to restrict information on the mana circulation skill. preventing another similar disaster again in the future.

Although Verdell found it difficult to understand people throwing their lives away for a single skill, part of him also understood why seeing just how valuable this skill was to a mage like himself.

How the guild had managed to keep information on the mana circulation skill locked up wasn’t difficult to understand either, as it, along with other major powers like the Holy Light Church restricted access to the lowest floor of a dungeon where the dungeon core was located. Making it extremely difficult for someone to obtain the skill by accident, as they would not just have to encounter a dungeon in the process of expanding but also had to survive the encounter and get out alive. Not to mention, it was already difficult to get the mana circulation skill knowing what to do, let alone for someone with no prior knowledge who would dedicate at least half an hour if not longer to observing the dungeon core.

The only ones who generally ended up obtaining the mana circulation skill by accident who wasn’t already aware of its existence were those crazy dungeon researchers who ended up risking their lives to deepen their understanding of the inner workings of dungeons, though that was hardly surprising, as most of those dedicated to the study of dungeons weren’t right in the head and tended to find themselves in deadly situations whenever they were out seeking a breakthrough discovery.

Pain... Why must I suffer like this?

Standing on the side the entire time, Scaly silently thought this to herself as she was essentially forced to listen in from the side. Learning alongside Verdell about the history of the mana circulation skill and how awesome it was and bla, bla, bla, she couldn’t take it for much longer before she grew crazy listening to the two continue their chatter like a group of a pair of teenage girls talking about love in the middle of the night.

Rustle~

Because of this, she didn’t wait for Verdell any longer and strode forward towards the door leading out of the dungeon. Not hesitating for a second before pushing open the door and striding straight through it.

Or...

That was at least what she wanted to say she did, but she now once again found another reason to complain about her size, as she couldn’t fit through the door that was so clearly designed in a way that discriminated against a beautiful and awe-inspiring dragon like herself!
