The hospital was a wonder of modern medicine by the time that Kalli was done with it, and it only took three clicks of the purchase button.

One to put a half dozen resurrection pods in the hospital area, one to fully furnish it with the hospital designation, and then one more to upgrade it. Once that was done, there were medical devices that even the doctors in her home world would have killed to get their hands on.

The hospital had surgical scanners that could stitch together arteries, tissue and even bone at the molecular level, closing cuts and even repairing broken bones in seconds

Apparently, to the system, that counted as "intermediate medicine". That was what the system called the hospital, an intermediate medical facility. What exactly constituted an advanced facility when this one had rare grade resurrection pods in it, as well as beds you could simply lay down on and have your broken bones healed in under a minute, was a mystery.

But perhaps it had to do with the actual medicine?

There was a {Medical Supply Dispensary} in the office, where you could pay mana to get medicine, but there might be limits on it. Kalli had no way of knowing because she had no idea what most of the medicines did in the first place.

Just the fact that it covered physical trauma was a great start, the medicines for other illnesses, and the treatments that it could offer without even involving the healers were mind-boggling.

And then there was the actual magic.

One thing that they had learned early on was that many illnesses could be cured with a single spell. Diabetes, infections, even poisons that didn’t instantly kill were no match for the [Cleanse] and [Purify] spells that the healers had.

With a full medical facility at their side, the chances that someone would succumb to a preventable illness or injury seemed extremely low.

That seemed to sort out the necessities of the city, but Kalli did add a few more small clinics around the compound, though without the resurrection pods. If the heroes were going to come back, it was best that they appeared in predictable locations, not all over the city.

Professor Tymon came in with Nigel and Fara, the architects who had recently arrived from the Undersea Base.

"Miss Kalli, is there anything that we can help you with? Other than cleaning up the city, that is? The monsters outside the walls are already disappearing, and the ones inside the walls are being cleaned fast.

I feel like we need to be doing something, but I’m not sure what it should be."

"You can start working on organizing the movement of the new residents from the Arks. I’ve programmed living quarters into the computer system, and you can assign them as necessary.

I was going to leave it to the Ark staff, but you can supervise them.

They don’t have direct access to the city’s computers yet, but I was going to send them a copy of the planning documents."

The Professor shook his head. "There is a saying for that situation. Too many Chefs ruins the soup. Let them take care of their own residents. They’ve already got their power structure sorted out, and they’ll figure it out on their own without us doing anything."

Kalli shrugged. "I see your point. Alright. In that case, what we need once everyone is settled is to start organizing bulk goods into warehouses for consumption at the factories.

We will also need to assign most of the factories. I’ll upgrade them once I get the notification of what they’re going to be used for.

That will let me give them the appropriate basic tools.

I don’t know what sorts of shops we’re going to manage, but once we have a harvest schedule for the greenhouses on all the new towers, we can start running a ration program for the restaurants and grocers.

I most definitely did not plan to volunteer to be restarting civilization, but I know that the military used to use ration cards to ensure that everyone got fed and people didn’t hoard food.

Since we’re going to be opening restaurants, we can use something like the Academy’s student cards. They had spending quotas on them for uniform replacements, supplies and such. We can expand that to a per person general quota, and let them decide how they’re going to spend it within the categories that we have.

System Points are their own currency, but most of the population can’t use them. So, we split what we do produce between everyone, and use the ration credits by category to distribute them.

I will let you all take over that duty. You’re all experts in that sort of thing, I hope."

Professor Tymon laughed. "Well, I wouldn’t say that. I do have a fair bit of experience in the area, but the others are architects. Better trained at creating the buildings than distributing supplies within a city.

But the only other ones who have more experience than we do in the matter are the Captains of the Arks.

They were picked for that specific sort of skill set."

That wouldn’t work out at all. The Captains would still have people on their Arks, even if they were getting supplies from the city. They were needed right where they were, and it wouldn’t be practical to ask them to take over ration distribution.

However, Kalli could already see that things were going to stratify into classes. Heroes needed more nutrition to keep up with the trials, and they put in most of the work that kept the city afloat and everyone alive.

So, it was inevitable that they got what they needed first, and then the rest would be split.

But in a way, that would actually work out smoothly. There were currently two greenhouses within the Academy grounds, and they were more than enough to supply the heroes and a large portion of the level 0 population who were likely to become heroes soon.

So, if they kept them from spreading out into the city too much, she could use the excuse of regional distribution to gloss over the fact that they got the good stuff.

Hopefully, they would be able to go fishing again soon, though.

If they could get some fishing done, that would add a lot of fresh protein to the meal plan, and she even had a fishing boat from the System that she hadn’t redeemed.

Come to think of it, she also had two more Dungeons.

Those really did need to be placed soon.
