Reincarnated Femboy Vampire, with Max Survivability Stats
Chapter 75: Ice Cold BitchYuki took a cautious step back, utterly torn on how to handle the situation.
Technically, completing his mission meant killing her. She was a trapped, tormented soul, but ending her life in cold blood still didn’t sit right with him. Besides, even if he did try to kill her, he had no idea how strong she actually was—and he didn’t have any of his primary weapons or gear on him.
"Don’t be afraid," she whispered gently, her voice trembling. "It’s okay... don’t fight yourself over this. I’ve been trapped here for so long, and I have no one left alive. So please... please, just kill me."
Yuki remained frozen near the ruined archway where he had entered. "I can’t just kill you—"
"Why?" she interrupted, her eyes desperate. "I’m a monster, and you’re a hunter of sorts, aren’t you?"
"Well... yes. I’m an Inquisitor."
"Then kill me! Before my other half wakes up!"
"Other half?!" Yuki blinked. "Are you a split soul, too?"
"...You know of my kind?"
Shit, Yuki cursed under his breath. I hate these kinds of complicated situations.
"Um... is something wrong?" Lily asked nervously.
"What are your abilities?" Yuki asked, his eyes scanning the surrounding arena.
"I... I can construct blades out of frost, and coat my skin in ice crystals for extra armor protection."
"Anything else?" Yuki asked, slowly pacing in a circle around her.
"No...? Is something wrong?"
"How long before you switch to your other self?"
"I... I don’t know..."
Yuki let out a heavy sigh. "What’s her personality like? Is she reasonable like you, or..."
"Yes, I’m quite reasonable, I’d say," Lily replied—except her voice had suddenly dropped into a cold, guttural tone.
Yuki spun around just in the nick of time, ducking as a jagged shard of ice whistled right past his ear.
Lily stood up slowly, stretching her arms. Her long, celestial-white hair rapidly darkened into a vibrant, deep-sea blue. Her eyes shifted, pupils slitting into reptilian slits that tracked everything in the room before locking onto Yuki and narrowing dangerously.
"So, you want to save me, right?" She smirked, gesturing toward the ground at her feet. "Come over here."
"When did I ever say I wanted to save you?" Yuki retorted, slowly backing away.
Lily took a step forward. The ground beneath her boots instantly crystallized into solid ice, and a thick frost smoke erupted from her skin, rapidly forming jagged plate armor around her forearms and legs.
Yuki prepared to turn and sprint for the exit, but he halted mid-step as his instincts flared—the temperature in the air was plummeting at a terrifying rate.
In a matter of seconds, frost raced across the floor toward every exit of the arena. Massive spikes of solid ice shot up from the ground, completely sealing off all routes of escape.
"There’s nowhere left to run," Lily purred, her voice dripping with malice. "So it’s best you just give up."
Yuki narrowed his emerald eyes and stared directly at Lily’s chest, watching intently to see if her lungs were expanding.
"What are you looking at?" she asked, her brow furrowing in irritation.
Yuki didn’t answer; he just kept staring intently at her chest.
Growing increasingly annoyed, Lily broke her gaze and looked down at her own chest to see what had distracted her soon-to-be meal. ...There’s nothing here to see?
Irritated, she snapped her head back up to glare at him. "Tch, hey—"
THWACK!
THUD!
Lily’s body hit the stone floor hard, sending a cloud of purple and blue lily petals erupting into the air.
"...Huh. Well... that went way better than I expected," Yuki said, casually tossing a second heavy stone up and down in his hand.
He began walking cautiously toward Lily’s collapsed form to check if she was completely knocked out or merely stunned. But just as he leaned in, a sharp projectile whistled past his ear, embedding itself deep into the stone wall behind him.
Yuki barely had a second to react before another projectile came flying straight at his face.
What the hell?!
He began darting around at top speed, attempting to pinpoint the source of the attack. Why aren’t my senses picking up anything?!
SNAP!
Another crystalline needle zipped across the arena, giving him just enough of a trajectory to trace it back to its source.
Perched high above him on a fractured pillar was the glowing jellyfish. It was staying completely still, blending into the background as it spat pressurized ice needles directly from its mouth.
Tch! Man, I really need to get stronger. My spatial awareness can’t pick up something that small from this distance unless it’s right in front of my face. This stupid sense ability works like a damn flashlight...
Yuki kept his pace, continuously circling the column to throw off the jellyfish’s aim. Once he roughly calculated the distance, he began chucking fist-sized rocks upward with pinpoint accuracy until the creature was far too battered to keep firing.
With the jellyfish dealt with, he turned back toward Lily—only to find her already standing and staring directly into his eyes, her forehead dripping with blood.
When the hell did she get up?!
She raised her hand and swept it in a wide arc, summoning a massive, writhing tentacle of solid ice that slammed directly into Yuki, launching him across the room.
Yuki braced himself for impact, rolling as he hit the stone floor to disperse the momentum. The moment he caught his footing, he bounded back up—just in time to see a thoroughly enraged Lily sprinting straight at him, a massive ice-crystal greats word raised high, ready to cleave him in two.
"I’m going to make you regret coming to my home!" she screamed, bringing the heavy blade down toward his head.
Yuki, however, wasn’t particularly worried. She’s an idiot, to say the least.
Why are you fighting in close-quarters combat when you’re an ice mage?! he thought, exasperated. That is just wildly irresponsible.
Yuki raised his hardened claws, catching and blocking the descending edge.
Lily gritted her teeth, pouring all her strength into her arms as she tried to force her way through his defense.
She doesn’t even know how to use a sword, Yuki noted, shaking his head slightly. Wasting a massive chunk of her mana pool just to trap me in close range... what a waste.
"Are you making fun of me?!" Lily shrieked, her eyes wild. "Bitch, I’ll kill you! I’ll tear you apart and eat your mangled corpse!"
She gripped the hilt even tighter and pushed with everything she had. Yet, despite her best efforts, Yuki didn’t budge an inch.
Desperate to gain the upper hand, Lily flashed a layer of slick ice directly beneath Yuki’s feet, causing him to lose his footing and fall flat on his back.
A wicked, triumphant smirk spread across her face. She raised her frost blade high above her head with both hands, aiming directly for his chest, and drove it down with all her weight.
