Lily’s ice blade dug deep into Yuki’s flesh, piercing through his armor and impaling him straight through the chest.

A manic laugh burst from her throat as she hurled insults at him, loudly boasting of her victory. "Fucking stupid bitch! Should’ve stayed home and cleaned for your husband instead of coming out here to die!"

Yuki stared up at her, his eyes widening in shock before the light rapidly faded from his emerald gaze. His body went limp. He was dead.

Lily released her grip on the frost blade and turned around, leaving her back exposed to Yuki as she raised her hands high toward the violet sky.

"See that, you gods?!" she screamed triumphantly. "Another one of your little puppets dead by my hands! Suck it, bitches! I’m still number one! HAHAHAHA!"

Wiping a streak of sweat from her brow, she turned back, knelt down beside Yuki’s lifeless body, and stared at him.

"...She’s kinda cute, actually," Lily muttered to herself, her eyes trailing over his body. "I’m sure she wouldn’t mind me taking a little peek. I’m just looking! Gotta make sure she doesn’t have any infections or diseases..."

Satisfied with her own excuse, Lily pulled the ice blade out of his chest, tossing it carelessly to the side, and began unbuttoning his outer jacket to reveal the clothes underneath.

She couldn’t help but admire Yuki’s attire—a seamless blend of cozy modern aesthetics and intricate, arcane flair. He wore an off-the-shoulder, cream-white cable-knit sweater cropped high across his torso, revealing a sleek black inner lining accented by a high-collared, traditional neckband etched with subtle gold trimming.

Emblazoned across the center of his chest and extending down his high-waisted black shorts were vivid crimson sigils, pulsating like stylized demonic runes against the dark fabric. The hem of his shorts was lined with fine gold embroidery, matching the opulent, filigree-style gold bands that crowned his thigh-high black stockings. Each band was further decorated with matching blood-red crests, drawing the eye down to complete a uniquely dangerous and stylish silhouette.

Lily was so thoroughly occupied checking Yuki out that she didn’t even question why there wasn’t a single drop of blood pooling from his gaping chest wound.

"Why does she have so many layers?" Lily grumbled under her breath. "It’s not even that cold out here! I wanna see your—"

SNATCH!

"Huh?!"

YANK!

Lily felt her body violently yanked backward before slamming hard onto the icy ground.

"What the— AUGH!" she choked out.

Yuki’s black tail had wrapped itself tightly around her throat, slowly cutting off her air supply. The armored arrow tip dragged across her skin, slicing a line into her neck that grew deeper by the second.

"Fuck! Shit!" she gagged, clawing frantically at the tail, but it wouldn’t budge an inch.

Yuki lay there unresponsive for a few seconds as the wound on his chest stitched itself back together. Slowly, his eyes fluttered open, and he returned to consciousness.

He raised his head, his vision swimming and his chest burning with intense agony.

"Augh... that lying-ass High Administrator!" Yuki groaned, clutching his ribcage. "You said I would heal instantly! Why didn’t you tell me it would hurt this damn much?! Did he seriously let me drop to my death back then and force me to stitch myself back together without numbing the pain?! Who does that?! Why does he hate me so much?!"

He grimaced, rubbing his sternum. "Tch, is it because I don’t want to be a Demo— Ahh, fuck?!"

Yuki was abruptly snapped out of his rant by a biting chill, watching in horror as his tail rapidly froze into a solid block of ice. He looked over to see Lily desperately channeling her remaining frost magic to shatter his tail’s grip.

Tch-ing loudly, Yuki gritted his teeth and poured every ounce of physical strength into his tail, hoisting Lily high into the air before slamming her back down onto the frozen stone floor.

The brutal impact knocked the wind completely out of her lungs, giving Yuki the exact window he needed to retract his tail.

"Damn it! She ruined my tail!" Yuki cursed. He backed away cautiously, using his claws to slice off the frozen, dead portions of his tail so they could instantly regenerate.

Across the arena, Lily coughed profusely, clutching her bruised neck.

Now would be the perfect time to rush over and finish her, Yuki thought, but overextending right now would end very badly for me... Wait.

He looked down at himself, freezing mid-step. Why is my jacket the only thing unbuttoned?!

"Hey! What the hell were you trying to do to me?!" Yuki blurted out, pointing a claw at her.

"I was trying to eat you!" Lily rasped out, her trembling voice dripping with defensive anger.

"It does NOT take that long to take off a jacket, you creep!"

"Listen, okay?!" Lily yelled back, her face flushing red. "I haven’t seen anyone in ages, alright?! I just wanted to see what was underneath!"

"Sicko."

Lily scoffed, rolling her eyes. "Tch! Listen... if you strip down and shake some ass, I might consider letting you go. What do you say?"

"...Yeah. I’m definitely going to kill you."

"What?! Why?!"

Yuki marched over, snatched up her fallen frost blade, rested it casually over his shoulder, and sprinted straight at her.

"Shit!"

Lily hastily conjured another ice blade just in time to block Yuki’s incoming strike.

The two began trading heavy blows—a spectacle to behold, not because it was skilled, but because it was utterly awful. Neither of them possessed proper swordsmanship technique; they were simply swinging their blades with wild, lethal intent, trying to hack the other to pieces.

Realizing she wasn’t gaining the upper hand in raw strength, Lily resorted to freezing the ground beneath Yuki’s boots, hoping he would slip and fall like before. But Yuki was ready for it this time, adjusting his balance effortlessly.

Yuki continued to close the distance between them, dishing out relentless attacks that forced Lily to panic and freeze everything in her immediate vicinity—which was precisely what Yuki wanted her to do.

Go ahead, waste all your mana and essence, Yuki smirked internally. It only makes things easier for me.

Their fierce duel raged on beneath the vibrant, glowing moon. Eventually, Lily’s mana pool completely dried up. Knowing that pushing her remaining essence would cause her to pass out, she abandoned her sword and switched to raw hand-to-hand combat.

However, that was the absolute worst decision she could have made.

With her guards down, Yuki seamlessly slipped into her guard, landing blow after blow and breaking down her stance.

In a fit of desperation, Lily swung a wild right hook straight at Yuki’s jaw. Yuki didn’t bother dodging—he took the punch head-on.

THWACK!

Huh? Why was that so soft? Lily wondered, watching Yuki’s head snap back.

In reality, Yuki hadn’t taken the full force of the hit. He had rolled his face with the impact at the last millisecond, letting her fist merely graze his cheek while pretending to be heavily hit.

Taking advantage of her brief moment of confusion, Yuki decided to try a triple spin roundhouse kick—a flashy move he had practiced constantly back on Earth, though he’d never had a chance to actually use it on anyone.

Lily watched in sheer bewilderment as the person she had just "punched" spun around three times in mid-air... before a devastating, heavy heel slammed directly into the side of her temple.

Before she even realized what had happened, her head slammed into the frozen ground with a loud, sickening POP!
