Chapter 606: Little Foodie, Why Aren’t You Eating?Chapter 606: Chapter 606: Little Foodie, Why Aren’t You Eating?
Could anything really tear us apart?
For some reason, Annabelle Linton’s heart grew heavy whenever the topic came up.
’...Maybe we really will be torn apart someday?’
She lowered her gaze and answered with a low, husky hum.
Seeing her sudden despondence, a sharp, fleeting pain pierced Leona Grant’s heart—gone before he could grasp it.
"Annabelle Linton," he called softly, his voice low as he made a promise. "Trust me. We won’t be separated."
Annabelle Linton forced down the strange sense of oppression in her heart and managed a smile and a hum.
Leona Grant gave her a soft kiss, then lifted her by the hips so she could wrap her legs around his waist. He carried her downstairs to eat.
Annabelle Linton wrapped her arms around his neck and rested her head on his shoulder, looking for all the world like a little child.
The way they held each other was so incredibly sweet.
Leona Grant looked down at the top of her head, his eyes filled with a deep, unwavering tenderness.
’Annabelle Linton, you have to trust me...’
...
「Time flew by.」
As promised, Leona Grant stayed home with her for three days.
They were practically inseparable for those three days. He doted on her as if she were completely helpless...
He made her drink ginger tea and honey water every day. But the most terrifying part... was the traditional Chinese medicine.
Annabelle Linton felt like she was going to lose her mind, but she had no choice but to drink it down.
At night, he would rub her stomach and hold her tight.
Annabelle Linton felt like he was going to spoil her rotten...
Two or three days after her period ended for the month, she could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
’This month’s period was... certainly one to remember...’
Today was the weekend, which meant it was time to pick up little "Ainsworth Grant" and bring him home.
Annabelle Linton had to laugh seeing the two words, "Ainsworth Grant," on Stuart’s collar.
’That man...’
As Annabelle Linton walked him down the street on a leash, she asked dotingly, "Stuart, did you miss Mommy?"
"WOOF WOOF WOOF!" Stuart barked excitedly, rubbing against Annabelle Linton’s leg.
Seeing the little guy so happy, Annabelle Linton couldn’t help but feel her own spirits lift.
The mother-and-son pair wandered through the streets. Stuart grew more and more excited with every step, his head swiveling left and right. He was impossibly energetic!
After a few hours, Annabelle Linton was too tired to walk anymore, so she took him to a nearby park.
Stuart had a particular fondness for sausages, so Annabelle Linton lifted him onto a park bench and, with great amusement, began to feed him one.
"ARF ARF ARF~~~"
The little guy was ecstatic. He happily nuzzled against Annabelle Linton, acting cute as he ate. He was so adorable you could just die.
’A Husky. No wonder they call them derpy.’
Annabelle Linton watched him with a doting expression, peeling another sausage and feeding it to him piece by piece.
"Arf..."
At first, he was gobbling them down excitedly, eyeing the next sausage before he’d even finished the first. Annabelle Linton couldn’t help but give his little head a gentle pat.
But then, midway through, he suddenly stopped eating...
He just stared at her with a pitiful look in his eyes, refusing to eat any more.
Annabelle Linton stroked his snowy-white head, confused. "What’s wrong, my little foodie?" she asked softly. "Why did you stop eating?"
"Arf..."
He looked at her, conflicted, and let out a dejected little whine.
’Is there something wrong with the sausages today?’
Annabelle Linton took out a fresh sausage to inspect it.
Just as she was about to, Stuart snatched it right out of her hand!
Annabelle Linton stared in shock as Stuart tore open the wrapper with a few quick bites. He then used his paw to take her hand, placed the sausage in it, and looked up at her, tongue lolling out, practically begging for praise.
Annabelle Linton understood immediately.
The little guy felt bad that he was the only one eating, so he was sharing his food with her.
’What a good boy.’
Annabelle Linton, pleased, was just about to offer a few words of praise when Stuart suddenly saw something and dashed off—
