Chapter 619: Am I Really Not Your Biological Child?Chapter 619: Chapter 619: Am I Really Not Your Biological Child?
She continued, "Mom has been with you for so many years, working so hard and dedicating herself to this family. We can all see how much she’s sacrificed. Can’t you please not judge her because of something that happened in the past?"
Arthur Ainsworth looked at Vivian Yates and roared furiously, "Shut up, you bastard! I’ve doted on you for so many years, and I never imagined you were a bastard! You’re a bitch, just like your mother! Get out! Both of you, get the hell out!"
Vivian Yates looked completely stunned.
Tina Chapman was stunned for a moment, then couldn’t help but yell, "Arthur Ainsworth, I know you’re unhappy with me, and I know you’re looking for an excuse to divorce me now! But let me tell you, you can curse me, even hit me, but I will not allow you to insult our daughter!"
Arthur Ainsworth sneered, then slapped her hard across the face. "How can you be so shameless as to say something like that?" he cursed viciously. "She’s clearly the child you had with some other bastard, yet you dare to pin her on me! You think I enjoy raising another man’s kid? Get out, you bitch!"
The force of the slap sent Tina Chapman tumbling to the ground.
Vivian Yates ran over to help Tina up. After checking on her mother’s injuries, she stood up again, rushed in front of Arthur Ainsworth, and yelled, "You’re a monster! I won’t let you treat my mother like this!"
SLAP—
Vivian Yates had barely finished speaking when she was slapped across the face. A paternity test report was then thrown at her. "See for yourself, you bastard!"
Vivian Yates took the paternity test and glanced at it. With a look of utter disbelief, she glanced from Arthur Ainsworth to Tina Chapman. "Am I... really not your biological daughter?" she asked.
Tina Chapman stared at the paternity test, unable to process it.
’She and Arthur Ainsworth had a shotgun wedding. Back then, she had schemed her way into his bed.’
’Arthur Ainsworth had been full of youthful ambition back then, and rather naive. That, combined with her good looks, had been enough for him to marry her.’
’She was still working at that place back then.’
’It couldn’t be... Is Janie really a bastard?’
Seeing Tina Chapman’s silence, Vivian Yates took it as a tacit admission. Putting on a show of being heartbroken and unable to accept the truth, she covered her mouth and ran out.
...
Annabelle Linton walked out of the animal shelter.
Stuart had gotten lost during the car accident.
In the chaos of the moment, she had been in a panic. After catching Stuart, she had handed him over to a nurse, asking her to watch him for a while.
But when she went to pick Stuart up the next day, he was gone.
He still hadn’t been found.
Even Leona Grant, using all of her connections, hadn’t been able to find him.
The people at the shelter had said they found a dog matching Stuart’s description, but when Annabelle came, she discovered it wasn’t him.
’Stuart usually stayed at a pet boarding center, so this area was completely unfamiliar to him. If he really was lost out here, the chances of him finding his way back on his own were practically zero...’
Annabelle Linton sighed, her heart heavy. She bought a bottle of water from a convenience store and took a few sips.
It was already nine o’clock. Leona Grant was probably going to be home late tonight, which was why she had come to check on the dog by herself.
This was a rather quiet and secluded path, with almost no one around.
A gust of wind blew past, making the leaves RUSTLE. It felt a little cold, and a little eerie.
Annabelle Linton paid it no mind and continued walking toward her car.
"Help! Help me! Someone’s trying to rape me! Help!"
"..."
"Go away! Don’t come any closer! Get away from me..."
Just as Annabelle was walking, a woman’s cry for help suddenly rang out from a small alley up ahead.
