"Four Heavens Buddha Palm: Heaven-Sealing Palms," Taranis whispered as he loudly clapped his hands, the sound echoing like a thunderclap. Following the motion, two massive palms of bright yang energy materialised on either side of Doom and slammed his body inside, rippling out a blinding shockwave outwards. The force of the impact sent waves of white light cascading across the sky, illuminating the entire landscape below.

At the same time, the two barriers of Ume finally combined into one, squashing everything inside them.

The sky turned into a spectacle of pink from the explosion caused by the joint of the barriers, a breathtaking canvas of destruction and fire that stretched from horizon to horizon.

The fur from Ume’s body began vanishing, her limbs turning shorter, her body shrinking. Her breath came in short, ragged gasps, each one a struggle. Before long, she transformed into her human form again, her eyelids turning heavy, the divine light fading from her eyes. She was about to fall down when Taranis grabbed her by the waist, appearing beside her in a flash of motion. He took out a coat from his inventory, covering her bare body as she whispered, her voice barely audible, "Pl-please be s-safe, Taranis."

"I will," Taranis answered in a soft tone as her limbs went limp, fainting from the exhaustion, her body completely spent.

Taranis activated the small teleportation array on her palm that she had drawn in advance. She vanished from his arms with a spiral of plum blossoms.

There were two catastrophes from the Prophecy that needed to be stopped. The first was the millions of monsters that would descend from the broken sky, bringing absolute destruction upon Earth. And the second was the Doom itself, the being with whose hands Taranis was fated to die.

To reduce the casualties to a minimum while doing the maximum damage to the invaders, Ume cast a massive array covering the entire Earth. The scale of this array was unprecedented, a web of protection spanning the globe. Due to its sheer size, Ume’s power alone was insufficient to activate it. That was where the Awakeners fulfilled their roles. Following Nymeria’s plan, they were spread across every corner of the planet in advance to provide the sufficient energy.

The array was not merely to stop the intruders but to completely obliterate them. It was a relief that Taranis had pushed the whole plan forward, because the Doom had appeared three days before the solar eclipse, the day of prophecy.

Taranis turned his white comet like eyes upward, staring at the pink fire in the sky, his ghost like white hair swaying upward in white flames, the bright yang disc rotating behind his head.

"Is that all?" A deep, disappointed voice echoed from the burning sky as Doom descended down, its form emerging from the inferno. The combined attack of the planetary level array and Taranis’s all out yang attack had only managed to destroy its limbs, which were quickly regenerating, their edges moving forward in a grotesque bubble of purple, regrowing its arms and legs. "I expected more from the descendant of Banes and the Fox Goddess."

"How do you know so much about us?" Taranis asked in a firm tone as he clenched his fists, the yang energy pulsing into the parallel patterns along his forearms while the miniature white sun at his chest grew brilliantly.

"Because I was there," Doom said, walking towards Taranis in the air, its steps leaving ripples of distortion in the sky. "When Maximilian led the war against my species."

Taranis flinched from the name, his eyebrow twitching, a momentary crack in his composure. Doom did not miss the chance to use this slight distraction. An ominous purple energy spread outward from his body, enclosing Taranis inside a shell of shifting shadows, while its own body vanished into the purple walls of energy, dissolving into the illusion.

Taranis’s fists clenched as he prepared himself for the attack, but what followed was not what he had expected. The world around him twisted and warped, the sky dissolving into fragments of light.

The entire scenery before him had changed. He was standing in front of his house on the island, wearing casual clothes, the sound of ocean hitting the shores echoing behind him. The familiar scent of salt and flowers filled the air.

"Wh-why am I here?" He murmured, obviously confused, his eyes darting around the familiar surroundings.

"What are you dazing here for?" A soft, familiar voice entered his ears. Ume stood beside him, softly holding his hand, her pink eyes warm and inviting. "We shall go inside. Nymeria and the little one are waiting for us."

Before Taranis could even speak, Ume began walking towards the house, tugging him gently along. He moved with her without any reluctance, his feet carrying him forward as if drawn by an unseen force.

As they reached the living room, he found Nymeria sitting on the sofa, holding something in her arms, wrapped in a soft cloth. The room was bathed in warm golden light.

She glanced at Taranis, standing at the entrance, before turning her eyes to her arms again, her voice carrying a tender warmth, "Look, baby, father is here."

Ume quickly moved towards the sofa, where she bent forward and chuckled, her voice filled with joy, "See how the baby is smiling just from hearing the word father."

"Dear, why are you standing there?" Nymeria said, confusion laced in her voice. "The little one is calling for you. Come, raise the baby in your arms."

"O-oh, alright," Taranis said as he moved towards them, his heart swelling with a warmth that felt almost too perfect.

His eyes fell on Nymeria’s lap, where she held a child with no face. The sight flinched Taranis, his hand slightly trembling, a cold dread creeping into his chest.

"Here," Nymeria said, extending her arms towards Taranis, the bundle held out expectantly.

"Husband, are you not feeling well?" Ume asked, standing beside him, her eyes narrowing at him in concern. "Why do you keep spacing out?"

"Hold the baby already, Taranis. My arms are tiring," Nymeria insisted with a frown, her voice carrying a hint of impatience.

"Y-yes, I-I am sorry," Taranis said, shaking his head as he moved his arms forward, forcing himself to reach for the child.

His hands passed right through the faceless child, as if it were made of smoke. His brows furrowed as he tried again, only to pass through the baby again. Desperation began to claw at his heart.

No matter how many times he tried, he was failing to feel the warmth of his child, each movement turning more desperate than the previous one, his fingers grasping at nothing.

DO YOU WISH TO FEEL THE WARMTH OF YOUR CHILD?

A deep, non-human voice echoed inside his mind, instantly freezing him. The words seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere, vibrating through his very soul.

DO YOU WISH TO SEE HOW YOUR CHILD LOOKS LIKE?

The voice asked again, its tone coaxing, tempting.

Taranis looked at the child in Nymeria’s arms, his jaw tightening.

"Y-yes, I d-do," he whispered as if drawn to the voice.

THEN DO NOT RESIST THE POWER I BESTOW UPON YOU.

A thick vine of purple energy materialised into thin air before him, moving slowly towards his chest, its surface pulsing with an ominous glow.

IF YOU ACCEPT THIS, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO STAY WITH YOUR FAMILY FOREVER.

Just as the vine reached a nail’s length from his chest, he clutched it tightly with his hand, his other hand clenching into a fist.

"I will meet my child after beating the shit out of you," Taranis muttered as he launched the punch forward into the empty air.

"Galactic Punch Version: Yang Blazing Fist!"

The punch connected with something in the empty air, shattering the scenery of his house with Nymeria and Ume like a glass, revealing Doom standing behind it. The illusion crumbled into fragments of light.

Doom’s claw was held tightly by Taranis’s hand just an inch before his chest, intercepted at the last moment, while his fist had connected squarely at its jaw, the sheer impact breaking the reality from the point of contact and destroying the jaw of Doom. The creature’s head snapped back, fragments of purple bone scattering into the air like shards of a broken statue, while cracks spiderwebbed across the space around them.

"How did you resist the deepest temptation of your heart?" Doom asked, its tone carrying genuine confusion, its jaw already regenerating, the fragments reforming in a grotesque bubble of purple bones.

"Hate to break it to you..." Taranis said as he threw him upward from its arm, his grip releasing with a powerful shove. "Illusion spells do not work on me."

Before Doom could regain its balance, Taranis was already following him, ascending upward with a burst of speed that left a trail of white light behind him. The air around him howled as he pushed through the atmosphere, his white hair streaming like a comet’s tail.

His right arm began glowing with bright light as he hurled his palm upward, the energy concentrating into a blinding point of yang power.

"Four Heavens Buddha Palm: Nirvana Hand!"

An energy in the shape of a palm materialised from Taranis’s hand and shot upward, striking Doom in the guts. The impact sent a shockwave rippling through the creature’s body, ascending it further into the sky. The air around them shattered, the force of the blow bending reality itself.

Taranis did not let the momentum falter, already launching another palm strike and another and another. Each impact sent shockwaves through the air, the blows landing with unrelenting precision, driving Doom higher and higher.

When Taranis finally stopped, the two were already outside the Earth’s atmosphere, hovering in space with the blue planet left behind them.
