"D-don’t do it! Stop, you freaking pervert!" Maximilian cried out, his face crimson, eyes widened as Cindera slowly descended on his crotch in a squatting position.

Maximilian tried to summon his power but the fire pole to which he was pinned was effectively suppressing his Soulforce, rendering him unable to make any move.

Their bodies were about to become one when Cindera suddenly froze, her eyes narrowing, ears twitching.

The very next moment, the door of the mansion opened, Pyria breaking in, her breathing uneven, urgency palpable on her face.

"Lady Cindera, the World Tree is under attack," she revealed in panic. "Blue Lightning is descending from the sky, striking the branches. There are no casualties but many houses have been set on fire."

"Who dares attack Phoenix Clan so openly?" Cindera snapped, rising to her feet, the fur covering her intimate parts again as she flew into the sky, tearing through the fire ceiling and the mansion roof as well.

"H-haha, she is finally here," Maximilian laughed, releasing a sigh of relief. "I owe you again, Vivi."

As Cindera reached the zenith of the World Tree, her magnificent golden and amber wings unfurling behind her, an enormous circular array came into view, suspended high above the sacred tree. Intricate runes shimmered across its translucent surface as torrents of blue Heavenly-Class lightning rained relentlessly upon the colossal branches below. Every thunderous strike scorched ancient wood and reduced entire clusters of houses to blazing ruins. Flames spread rapidly through the settlements nestled among the branches, while countless phoenixes burst from their homes in frightened flocks.

Veins bulged across Cindera’s temple as unrestrained fury surged through her.

A blazing comet-like tail materialized behind her, its immense length wrapped in searing amber flames. Golden fur rapidly spread across her body as her divine aura erupted outward. Her figure expanded at an astonishing pace, growing larger and larger until she towered over the surrounding branches.

Colossal flames devoured her entire body, swallowing her silhouette in a blazing inferno. The overwhelming pressure released from her transformation descended upon the country-sized World Tree, fluttering it’s leaves and branches.

Slowly, the sea of flames dispersed into countless glowing embers.

In its place soared a divine fire phoenix, her radiant eyes burning like twin suns while her wings stretched so wide that it seemed as though the entire sky itself had been set ablaze.

"SCREECH!!"

With a deafening screach, she shot directly toward the colossal array. Bolts of Heavenly-Class lightning crashed into her divine body one after another, yet they failed to leave even the faintest mark upon her radiant feathers. Every strike that had been destined for the World Tree was intercepted by her colossal form, shielding the sacred tree beneath.

Her massive body collided with the array with a thunderous impact. Cracks spread rapidly across the translucent barrier before it shattered into countless glittering fragments, unable to withstand the force of her charge as Cindera tore straight through it.

---

A few minutes earlier...

As Cindera began transforming into her original form, her control over the flaming poles that imprisoned the trio of thieves weakened. The blazing restraints flickered violently, allowing them to circulate their Soulforce once more.

Maximilian was the first to break free, shattering the flaming shackles with a powerful burst of strength. Draven escaped immediately afterward, and together they quickly removed the restraints binding Arthur.

"M-my Lord, did you do it with Lady Cindera?" Arthur blurted out the moment he was free.

Judging from the unwavering curiosity in Arthur’s eyes, Maximilian knew the man would never stop pestering him until he received an answer.

"Of course not." Maximilian let out an exhausted sigh as the wings on his back spread wide. "I would never lose my chastity to a bird!"

With that bold declaration, his black wings beat powerfully against the air. Grabbing Draven by the back of his collar without the slightest warning, he launched himself forward, using the unfortunate demon’s body to smash straight through the mansion wall.

Arthur hurried after them, quickly taking to the skies.

"Maximilian Éclair Valcyrion Bane, do you have a death wish?" Draven muttered coldly as he spat a small wooden plank from his mouth. "Do not hold me like a puppy."

"Keep whining, and I will drop you right here," Maximilian declared as they sped through the sprawling branches, powerful gusts of wind trailing behind them.

"Not even in the Demon Kingdom have I seen a person as insufferable as you," Draven replied, his fists clenching in suppressed fury.

Ever since that fateful day ten years ago, when Maximilian had shamelessly wandered into the Demon Kingdom and spent his time bullying innocent demons, he had become a living nightmare for Draven’s dignity.

Every moment spent in Maximilian’s company became another memory he wished could be erased from existence. No amount of torture could ever force him to recount the countless humiliations he had suffered because of that man.

And now, after first being dragged around by a phoenix and then carried through a wall like baggage by Maximilian himself, this had undoubtedly become the worst day of his life.

He had already resolved to spend the next fifty years in closed-door cultivation.

As they burst past the final branch and entered the vast open sky, a blinding explosion erupted overhead.

The dazzling flash momentarily eclipsed the brilliant sunlight itself.

Cindera had destroyed the array that had occupied her attention.

Her radiant, star-like eyes immediately shifted toward the three fleeing figures below, the very reason the World Tree had suffered such devastating destruction.

"Stop right there, you brats!"

Her terrifying roar echoed across the sky, causing the enormous leaves of the World Tree to tremble violently as she descended toward them.

"Draven, hold on tightly. I’m going full speed," Maximilian declared as he tossed Draven high into the air.

The wings upon Arthur’s and Maximilian’s backs expanded dramatically, growing several times larger in the blink of an eye.

Obsidian scales from Maximilian’s arms and chest before rapidly envelope his entire body. The golden gem embedded within his chest pulsed brilliantly, radiating light like a miniature sun. His hands transformed into razor-sharp claws.

Two magnificent golden horns erupted from his forehead, curving elegantly toward the back of his head.

The dark particles drifting within his golden eyes stirred violently, as though countless stars were shifting across the endless expanse of a living galaxy.

A massive tail extended from the base of his spine, thick obsidian scales continuing to spread along his back before flowing seamlessly across its entire length.

Draven landed on his back again as soon as the transformation was completed.

"Bwahaha! Goodbye, perverted old hag," Maximilian’s thick voice reached the ear of every phoenix present in the vicinity. "You will always remember this as the day that you almost caught the Lightning Dragon God, Maximilian Éclair Valcyrion Bane."
