Chapter 469: Chapter 441: Leaving
If he really lost the ability to obtain special rewards, Fang Chenyi would find it truly unacceptable.
To be frank, the Fang Chenyi of today could already be considered wealthy enough to rival a nation.
Even though recycling the woven bags always brought him a decent sum of money, compared to his current business empire, it was merely a drop in the bucket.
What Fang Chenyi truly wanted were the special rewards.
To be precise, even if Fang Chenyi returned to his old ways and spent twenty hours a day collecting scraps, with each reward being at least 500, how much could he really make in a day? 500,000? A million? Or ten million?
Never mind his other companies; the daily profits from Tencent Games or the Baida Group alone far exceeded that amount.
If this were before his trip to South Africa, Fang Chenyi would have likely chosen not to go.
His corporate empire was already large enough, his assets were enough to rival a nation, and he could have comfortably coasted for the rest of his life.
Even his future children, and their children, would be set for life.
But ever since coming to South Africa and discovering the Sea God’s Relic, Fang Chenyi seemed to have gained a new understanding of the world.
It seemed this world was not what he had previously thought; there were still many secrets left to explore.
Therefore, no matter what, Fang Chenyi had to go to the Taklamakan Desert.
After returning the map in his hand to the space inside the woven bag, Fang Chenyi turned and went back to the control room.
He sat on the sofa and thought for a moment. ’For this trip to the Taklamakan Desert, should I bring people with me?’
Although he was now very powerful, Fang Chenyi still hesitated when faced with a place known as a forbidden zone for humans.
The topic seemed to circle back to the previous question. ’Should I give these people those little Medicine Pills?’
If he didn’t give them the pills and still brought them into the Taklamakan Desert, it would be no different from leading them to their deaths.
His gaze fell upon Qi Xiaotian, who was lying on a nearby bunk, and a plan began to form in his mind. He immediately picked up the walkie-talkie beside him and contacted Liu Yishou.
Ten minutes later, Liu Yishou pushed open the control room door and strode inside. Following behind him were a dozen or so staff members responsible for managing the crew:
"Brother Fang." "Boss."
Everyone greeted Fang Chenyi respectfully as they entered.
Fang Chenyi waved his hand, gesturing for everyone to find a seat.
Once everyone was seated, Fang Chenyi announced, "I’ve called you all here to let you know that we’re setting sail for Huaxia this afternoon."
No one would dare object to Fang Chenyi’s decision, so they all simply nodded in agreement.
Fang Chenyi then turned his gaze to Liu Yishou. "Yishou, you won’t be coming with us. I need you to go with Poseidon Robton. Handle the takeover of his family’s businesses, and when you’re finished, you can fly directly back to Huaxia."
Liu Yishou nodded. "Understood, Brother Fang."
After that, Fang Chenyi turned to Billson, who was sitting to the side.
"Bill, I’m leaving you in charge here. Just do your job, protect this place, and don’t let anyone take anything. Also, I’m leaving all three amphibious armored vehicles with you. How does that sound? Any problems?"
The moment Billson heard he was getting to keep the three amphibious armored vehicles, he grew visibly excited. He nodded his head repeatedly, stammering, "No problem, no problem at all."
Once they had both agreed, Fang Chenyi waved his hand, dismissing everyone to go and make preparations.
But just as everyone was getting up to leave, Fang Chenyi suddenly called out to Billson and Liu Yishou.
"Old Liu, Bill, you two stay behind for a moment."
The two men sat back down as instructed. After everyone else had left and the door was closed, Fang Chenyi suddenly reached into his leather bag and pulled out two small, white pills.
He then placed one of the Medicine Pills in front of each man.
Both men looked on in confusion, wondering what this was about and what these Medicine Pills could possibly be.
Sensing their confusion, Fang Chenyi explained before they could ask,
"I found these Medicine Pills in that stone hall. I’ve taken one, and Xiaotian’er just took one as well."
He paused, observing their expressions. Seeing they were still bewildered, he continued, repeating the same explanation he had given to Qi Xiaotian earlier.
After hearing his explanation, they exchanged a look of sheer astonishment. They couldn’t believe it was real—that a Medicine Pill that could actually increase a person’s strength existed in the world.
However, compared to Billson, Liu Yishou knew Fang Chenyi much better.
He knew what Brother Fang’s skills were like before, but his abilities now were on another level—truly terrifying.
Thinking of this, Liu Yishou picked up the Medicine Pill and was about to toss it into his mouth.
But Fang Chenyi, reacting quickly, stopped him.
"Hold on. After you take this Medicine Pill, you’ll fall into a coma, just like Xiaotian’er. It might be a long time before you wake up.
I’m leaving right away, so you two can’t take them at the same time.
Here’s the plan: Old Liu, you take yours first. Bill, you wait and stand guard for him.
After Old Liu wakes up, you can take yours, and he’ll stand guard for you. That way, I can rest easier, and both of your safety will be guaranteed."
It had to be said, Fang Chenyi’s plan was a sound one, ensuring both of them would be safer.
The two men nodded, carefully stowing away their respective Medicine Pills. They then bid farewell to Fang Chenyi and departed.
Three hours later, with a loud blast of its horn, the cruise ship Chen Meng slowly began to move.
High in the sky, Liu Yishou circled in the Apache, as if seeing the cruise ship off.
To leave the base here more secure—and to avoid the trouble of dealing with things that couldn’t be brought into Huaxia—Fang Chenyi had ultimately decided to leave the modified Apache behind as well.
And just like that, Fang Chenyi’s journey in South Africa finally came to an end.
As the cruise ship sailed across the vast ocean, Fang Chenyi stood on the deck, facing into the wind. He ran a hand through his wind-tousled hair and couldn’t help but muse aloud:
"Sigh... leaving the ocean, only to head for an endless sea of sand. I wonder what kind of dangers this journey will hold..."
