HAROLD, before he had been forcefully turned into a Soul Beast, had always been a bloodthirsty killer.

And his favorite target?

Children.

There’s something fun about stabbing their soft flesh until they bleed and die.

He had been stuck with the other Soul Beasts for a long, long time.

Unfortunately, no matter how much he ’killed’ the children among them, those kids never died because, well, they were already dead.

Hence, it became boring.

That was why, when the current Emperor Nero gave them a chance to come out with him, he grabbed the opportunity.

He didn’t care about the young emperor’s grand plan.

I just want to kill children again.

Unfortunately, he had been stuck ’training.’

Harold was on the verge of quitting when the Grand Spirit suddenly brought him to the Imperial Palace.

Apparently, the young emperor had a mission for him.

But he didn’t care about that.

As soon as he got a whiff of children staying in the Imperial Palace, he immediately rushed in that direction.

To his joy, he found young Silver Foxes.

However, his fun was cut short because of a three-tailed Silver Fox who bared his fangs at him.

And before the fight got more serious, the Grand Spirit caught him.

The young emperor, too.

That damned Emperor Nero even froze him, turning him into an ice statue.

Harold thought he was going to die.

But, thankfully, the Grand Spirit thawed him.

The Grand Spirit also told him to behave if he wanted to live.

But he couldn’t help it.

The scent of the young Silver Foxes was too tempting.

Hence, Harold found himself back in the part of the palace where the Silver Foxes were hiding.

This time, he made sure to hide his bloodlust.

He even transformed into his white fox form to hide his small body.

That annoying three-tailed fox isn’t here, so this is my chance...

"You are full of bloodlust for something so small."

Huh?

Harold was so sure that he was alone a moment ago, so he was shocked when he heard the voice of a woman in front of him.

He wanted to raise his head to see who it was.

However, a heavy force suddenly crushed down on him, making him unable to lift his head. Actually, he couldn’t move now— not even an inch.

He belatedly realized that his entire body was trembling with fear.

But why?

Why was he so scared?

Who is this person standing before him?

Harold could only see the tip of the woman’s boots, but he already felt like he couldn’t breathe.

Like he didn’t have the right to breathe the same air as she did.

"I was willing to turn a blind eye and add the likes of you to the roster of my representatives for Nero’s sake."

Huh?

This woman just said the young emperor’s name as if they were equal!

Ah.

That was when Harold finally remembered.

The young emperor has a twin sister.

And, just like the young emperor...

She’s half-Roseheart and half-de Moonasterio.

However...

Why do I feel neither?

Harold thought he was facing the devil himself.

Someone with both the Roseheart blood and the de Moonasterio blood should carry pure Mana and divine power, and yet...

All I could feel is heavy and ominous energy!

"I feel bad for breaking my promise to my baby brother, but I can’t really stand bastards like you who enjoy killing children."

Harold, at least, wanted to growl to defend himself.

However, all he could make was whimping sounds.

And, before he knew it, his body had already started to literally crumble.

He didn’t know what happened to him.

But Harold was sure of one thing.

I’m gone for good.

Just like that.

NEOMA didn’t even bother checking if the white fox had completely disappeared.

Because she knew she wouldn’t fail at killing a Soul Beast who didn’t have a shred of humanity in him.

It wasn’t like she was being careless or too arrogant.

She just didn’t have more time to spare on a nobody.

"Ah."

It was William, who glanced at the ’scene of the crime’ before looking at Neoma.

"I was just about to fetch that thing."

"Tell Nero that I cleaned up after his mess," Neoma said, walking past William. "If that thing can’t even stand my mere bloodlust, then he’d be no use in a fight."

"Only a few people could stand your bloodlust when you’re serious about killing, though."

"`Sounds like a skill issue."

"Don’t you feel anything?" William asked in a somewhat emotional(?) voice. "You just killed a Roseheart— a Roseheart that was forced to become a Soul Beast, no thanks to the de Moonasterios of the past."

"No, I don’t feel anything," Neoma said, looking over her shoulder to give William a dire look. "Being a victim doesn’t give you the right to turn innocent people into victims."

PFFT.

Neoma couldn’t help but laugh while watching Lewis teach the young Silver Foxes how to give a proper kick.

She didn’t mean to disturb her ’son,’ but her laughter caught his attention.

I was trying to hide my presence...

Lewis immediately headed towards her. "Princess Neoma... oh, you killed someone."

And that was the reason why Neoma didn’t want to come near the Silver Foxes.

They have keen senses, after all.

"I thought I’ve already toned down my bloodlust."

"It’s not really obvious, Princess Neoma," Lewis assured her. "I just have sharper senses than most people."

Hmm.

Neoma glanced at the Silver Foxes behind Lewis.

It was only the children there at first.

But, this time, the adult Silver Foxes had come out.

Probably because they sensed my presence.

Neoma didn’t want to face the Silver Foxes when she had just killed someone, so she didn’t move from her spot.

She simply nodded politely at the Silver Foxes before turning to Lewis.

"My son, would you like to go to hell with me?"

"Sure," Lewis answered in a heartbeat, not even pretending to think about it for a moment. "I’ll go anywhere with you, Princess Neoma."

Aigoo.

"It will just be a quick trip," Neoma said while cracking her knuckles. "Hopefully."

TSK.

Nikolai couldn’t help but click his tongue after hearing the report that Geoffrey Kinsley delivered to him.

The report was from Mona, his beloved wife.

"What’s wrong, Your Majesty?" Rufus Quinzel asked worriedly. "Did something happen again?"

Nikolai looked around the room.

After Geoffrey Kinsley left, only Rufus Quinzel and he were left in there.

But you never know.

Since Rufus Quinzel was a quick-witted bastard, he immediately realized what he needed to do— hence his cousin covered the entire room with Shadow Veil, a soundproof barrier.

Of course, it was something that Nikolai was also capable of doing.

But I’m currently hiding the fact that I left the Imperial Palace.

"Apparently, the Black Ocean had dried up."

Rufus Quinzel’s eyes widened in shock. "What?! How could that happen?"

"According to the survivor, it was the Ancient Devil’s doing."

"That being is still alive?" Rufus Quinzel asked in disbelief. "Trevor Kesser is already the new Devil. Why can’t those ancient beings just rest in peace?"

Right?

"Anyway, I need to return to the palace," Nikolai said, getting up from his seat. "I’ve already approved your request, so I leave it to you."

Rufus Quinzel nodded in agreement. "Thank you, sire— I’ll make sure that my daughter will bring you excellent results soon..."

His cousin stopped talking.

Nikolai didn’t have to ask why— he immediately pulled out his holy sword the moment a shift in the air happened.

We have an uninvited guest.

***

"IT’S BEEN a while, Princess Neoma."

"Yeah, it’s nice to see you again, Gin," Neoma greeted the humanoid black cat cheerfully. "But let’s skip the pleasantries. I need to see Trevor."

"Of course, Your Imperial Highness," Gin said, bowing exaggeratedly. "I’ll open a portal straight to where Trevor Kesser is."

Neoma just nodded.

Since Gin was a master of ’doors’ that led to Hell, it didn’t take long before a portal appeared out of thin air.

"After you, Princess Neoma."

It wasn’t like Neoma trusted Gin 100%— she was just confident that no surprise attack could harm her.

Hence, she stepped inside the portal without a care in the world.

Lewis and Gin followed closely behind him.

In just the blink of an eye, the familiar interior of a bedroom greeted her.

It was still the same room with a black and red color palette.

Trevor’s mansion hadn’t changed a bit.

And the Sorcerer was sleeping peacefully in the bed.

Neoma’s glowing red eyes saw the sinister barrier surrounding the bed, something that was designed to kill whoever touched it.

At least, he didn’t sleep without protection.

I feel bad for disturbing his sleep, but...

"Rise and shine, Trevor," Neoma said, pulling out Skewer— her pink Death Scythe. "We have plenty of gods to scam."
