Hyperion lay on the ground, hand to his head. His face was filled with shame and regret. I held out a hand to him, trying to be civil.

“I can't believe you drugged me! Some hero you are.” He grumbled, but he took my hand, nonetheless.

“It might not be my finest moment but I got what I wanted. Besides, I'm not a superhero anymore, right?” This was definitely going down as one of my worst moments for sure but it is what it is.

Hyperion grunts in what I'm guessing is agreement just as Theia arrives. She shyly steps closer but not within touching distance, as if one of us would bite her. Hyperion glares daggers at her but says nothing. Theia smiles, cheeks turning rosier by the minute.

“Okay, am I missing something here?” I scratched my head and hopped onto a car roof, dying to get away from the thick, marshy water.

“She knows what she did or rather, what she failed to do.” Hyperion says, crossing his arms.

“I was a little busy, brother. Forgive me, please.” It was odd to see her so demure towards him but It wasn’t my business.

“Busy with what? You were supposed to use your vision to keep that one at bay.” He inclines his head towards an upcoming Guy. I smile as he climbs up, with a little difficulty, onto the car next to me. Why the hell is Hyperion mad at Guy? It's not like he actually did anything in this fight…other than emotional support.

And I need all the support I can get.

“What did I do now?”

Theia and hyperion both blink a few times, first at each other and then at Guy. Oh, I see what’s happening here.

“I’m sorry, is something different with your human?” she softly asked, floating near us. She examined Guy like he had three heads.

“I didn’t catch the voice before when I ambushed you. Why exactly does he sound like our nephew?”

“Well, uh, the easiest way to explain it?” Guy started to say, rubbing while rubbing the back of his head. “Wyatt’s kinda hiding inside my head. Something freaky happened because of how Rhea’s powers affected him and now we’re in one body.”

When he finished he tapped his chin, wracking his brain to see if there was anything else he forgot, no doubt.

I smirked. He was so adorable trying to explain an impossible situation. Yet the more the pair listened the more intrigued they became.

“Oh and we created a third person. It’s complicated. We swap bodies sometimes, so even though it’s my body, I guess it’s changing itself? I don’t know. To be honest I’m learning to just go with the flow when it comes to us.”

His fingers interlocked with mine and my heart fluttered. I wanted to kiss him but couldn’t. For fucks sake, just get past it already. Yes it’s Wyatt's face currently but it's Guy’s soul talking to me. My brain knows that…now if the rest of my body could just get with the program.

“Could it be?” Theia whispered. A wide smile appeared on her petite face. Unlike our therapy sessions earlier, where she was serious and serene, now? Now she was a kid in a candy store.

“Could what be?” Oh no. I’ve seen that look before. She’s about to drop some prophecy bullshit.

“Theia, you know not what you speak.” Hyperion chastised her but even he leaned away from us, wary.

“I could be wrong.” Her tone said otherwise. “But I think you have a very rare triple mate connection. One that is only spoken about in legends by our elderly.”

So there were people older than Rupert? Not that he looked that old but I was just curious since he’s the one in charge.

I groaned and shook my head. “Please. No. Whatever prophecy or ancient text you’re about to talk about, please save it for another time.” Stretching my arms behind my back, I sighed with relief as my spine popped. I might be healing from his bruises but Hyperion hits…almost as hard as I used to.

One of these days I'll stop reminiscing about my prime.

Sometimes I forget that I punched the moon. Doesn’t help that I can't see past the orange sky at night either.

Theia pouts, I could tell I just popped her balloon. “But, it is a blessing to have three mates—”

“Yeah, well the goddess says she gave me two.” I mumbled and immediately regretted it. Shit. Why the fuck did I let that slip out. Hyperion was on me in the blink of an eye—completely forgetting about personal space. His nose was touching mine.

“You SPOKE to the goddess? Phereda contacted you directly?!” he was in awe, I was not.

I'd long since gotten over the shock and awe of Phereda when she abandoned me at my most vulnerable.

“A direct connection to the goddess?! It is no wonder that Rupert fears you.” Theia mumbled so quietly I’m not sure if I heard her right. I don’t know if I was meant to hear that but I did and it made zero sense. Rupert could kick my ass all day and he’s toying with me. Why the hell would he be afraid of me?

“Please hold all questions until after I’ve had a shower and some food. I’m exhausted.” Surveying the chaos around us, I noticed how several city blocks had been demolished in the process of our fight. Hot damn, this whole fight was actually good for something after all.

And then a thought occurred to me as I turned to Hyperion, the memory of his punches still fresh in my mind.

“Hey, hype-man? You were holding back against me, weren't you?”

He scoffed. “Of course I was.”

“Why? I thought you all had to do what Rupert tells you. Didn't think playing nice was on the list.”

He squints at me and then, like a fire burning out it's last embers, he sighs. His entire skeleton relaxed, bones visibly shifting to the side

His eyes softened, and my gut twisted. Pity. He pitied me. Great. I clenched my fists and floated into the sky ,one arm hooked around Guy's waist.

He knew. I'm not sure how but he knew about what happened when I was almost…when Wyatt rescued me from Drakkir.

Even now I can't name the incident, it just makes me anxious and angry all over again. Of course I had years of therapy—the best Wyatt's money could buy.

But it wasn't enough. Nothing ever would be. It's why I can't slow down. Can't stop.

Hyperion nodded up at me.“I'm aware of your situation, yes. But I did not hold back for fear of your fragility. No, I restrained myself because I want to see you at your fullest potential. Much like Rupert does. In fact, even though I am no longer under his thumb, I want to rematch you one day.”

“Sapph.” Guy called my name, I signed and held him closer. His arm was around my neck and I inhaled his scent, surprised he smelled like him and not Wyatt.

“Yeah?”

“I noticed something while you two fought. Hyperion's punches had sparks around them. Like electricity almost.”

“Electricity…” I glanced at Hyperion, an idea forming in my head. I grinned, happy that something good was coming about this.

[Grand Electrician position available]

System didn’t say it outloud but seeing the alert pop up in the corner of my eye was enough.

“Hyperion. You want a rematch? You're gonna help me rebuild this city first. Deal?”

Shock and confusion tore through the big guy. “Building cities. For such lowly creatures as the capps?”

“It's either that or nothing. Think about it. Me at my prime against you? Different battle entirely, right?”

That did it. The spark in his eye and the tick of his mouth gave it away.

“Fine.” He relented with a rueful smile. “When do we start?”
