Secret Marriage, High-Profile Pampering!
Chapter 1248: The Couple Yet to Be EngagedChapter 1248: Chapter 1248: The Couple Yet to Be Engaged
The town where the two of them were staying was a quiet little town, far removed from the hustle and bustle, and the residents were very warm-hearted, as was the innkeeper.
During dinner, seeing Manuel Ink and Summer Sutton arrive at this point, the innkeeper guessed that neither of them had eaten, and invited them to join in on the meal.
Manuel Ink’s disposition had always been aloof and cold; even at Royal Delight, it was rare to see him sit together with the staff.
But upon coming to this town, he wasn’t so particular.
When sitting with the innkeeper, he talked and laughed, and the atmosphere in the garden was especially harmonious.
Summer Sutton slowly walked down from upstairs, quietly watching him as she descended.
The bonfire in the garden burned vigorously, roasting a lamb with a rich aroma wafting through the air.
The red glow illuminated Manuel Ink’s sculpted handsome face, making his features appear even clearer in Summer Sutton’s eyes.
When Summer Sutton’s gaze fell upon his face, Manuel Ink happened to look her way.
Seeing her at the garden entrance, he curled his lips and smiled softly at her.
When he smiled, he looked incredibly charming, as if the sky had suddenly scattered countless stars, making his originally cold face seem much gentler amidst the night.
Manuel Ink was an impeccable man, and this was indisputable.
Summer Sutton felt that it would be rare to find a young woman in this world who wouldn’t fancy him.
Such an outstanding man should undoubtedly be matched with a girl equally exceptional.
As for herself, Summer Sutton never felt suitable for Manuel Ink.
She already had Adrian Walyon, although divorce might be possible in the future, Summer Sutton felt Manuel Ink deserved better.
The girl worthy of him should have an equally inviolable aura, as pure as moonlight, like the most pristine orchid in the valley, untouched by the slightest worldly impurities.
Or perhaps a girl from a family equal to his, a princess-like figure everyone treasures would be more suitable for him.
Seeing her gaze fixed on him in a daze, Manuel Ink arched his brows slightly.
Summer Sutton snapped back to reality, calmly walked over, and sat down beside him, "Smells so good!"
Manuel Ink casually handed her a freshly cut piece of lamb, "Try it, is it tasty? Different from what we have back home. Lots of spices added."
"Really?" Summer Sutton took the meat he handed her, tasted it, and turned to praise the innkeeper, "Sir, the flavor is great!"
"I’m glad you like it," replied the innkeeper in English.
Manuel Ink then poured Summer Sutton a glass of wine, "Can you drink?"
Summer Sutton took it and sipped twice, "No problem, one or two glasses are fine."
The innkeeper raised his own cup, clinking glasses with her and Manuel Ink, "To such a beautiful night, cheers!"
"Cheers!" Summer Sutton clinked glasses with the two, respectively.
The three sat together, eating roast meat, drinking red wine, and then started chatting leisurely.
The middle-aged innkeeper looked at Summer Sutton and Manuel Ink repeatedly, and began to gossip about their relationship, "Are you two a married couple?"
"Sir, you’ve misunderstood. We’re not." Summer Sutton quickly denied.
"Oh? Then are you engaged?" the innkeeper asked again.
"Not really. We’re just friends," Summer Sutton said.
"I see," the innkeeper seemed a bit regretful, "I think you two are quite well-matched, whether in terms of aura or appearance."
