Chapter 1247: Chapter 1247: Shaking Him Off

"Sir, please take me away from here!" Summer Sutton instructed the driver and slammed the car door shut.

Her reaction was so swift that Watt Bennet didn’t even have a chance to glance at her.

Looking at the now empty hotel entrance, Watt was agitated.

Did she know how long he had been looking for her?

Did she know that because of her, he hadn’t had a good night’s sleep these past days?

Not knowing where she was, worrying about her safety, worrying about her being insecure living alone, and worrying about her financial troubles while traveling.

His biggest fear was that she would keep avoiding him forever.

With great difficulty, he finally found her, and this was her reaction?

She didn’t even give him time to react, just turned her head and ran?

The pain in Watt’s heart was intense, but this time it was his fault at first, so he didn’t blame Summer Sutton.

What frustrated him was, after missing her this time, how much time would he have to spend to find her again?

The car Summer was in had already gone far when Watt quickly flagged down another car to chase after it.

His reaction speed was pretty quick too, almost immediately starting to hail a car after Summer’s car drove off.

However, after catching up, he couldn’t spot the car Summer was in.

The driver hadn’t even seen the license plate of Summer’s car, so he could only drive blindly in obedience to Watt’s orders, searching in the vicinity.

But the place they were in was just a small town.

The countryside roads, the intricate alleys, and various mountain paths made finding someone not as easy as imagined.

Watt searched the entire day, but since Summer’s car disappeared, he never crossed paths with her again...

Frustrated, Watt punched the tree trunk beside him, completely at a loss.

He had been searching for a whole day without a trace of Summer; she must have left this town long ago.

If she intended to avoid him, after discovering he was there too, she wouldn’t stay any longer than necessary.

But with so many surrounding small towns, where could her next destination be? Watt couldn’t fathom...

...

After leaving the hotel, Summer got the driver to take her around the small town by car.

She initially just wanted to shake off Watt, but later on, feeling uneasy, she instructed the driver to take her to another town two towns away from her current location.

The drive was quite a distance; upon reaching the destination and getting out of the car, she suddenly realized a tricky problem.

She had no cash.

Her money had been stolen by a pickpocket before she met Manuel Ink...

Summer stood there, dazed, looking at the driver still waiting for his payment; she was embarrassed.

"Sir, sorry, please wait a moment!"

Not knowing how to solve the issue at hand, in a foreign country without knowing anyone else, Summer had no choice but to call Manuel Ink for help.

"Manuel, where are you now, I ran into a bit of a problem..." Summer hadn’t even finished speaking before Manuel cut her off with two words, "Wait for me!"

Summer exhaled softly.

At the hotel entrance, she patiently waited for Manuel Ink.

When Manuel arrived, it was already late in the evening; he paid a day’s fare to the driver and accompanied Summer into the hotel.

He booked two rooms, and that night, Summer decided to stay there temporarily.

Having hidden from Watt for so long, she hadn’t even had a meal that day.

After completing the check-in process and heading downstairs, Manuel was invited by the hotel owner to a bonfire barbecue in the garden.
