Chapter 1246: Chapter 1246: Avoiding Him

When he reached the hotel booked by Summer Sutton, Manuel Ink did not stop but continued walking forward.

His expression was calm and composed from beginning to end, as if he knew nothing.

After circling several streets, he arrived at a hotel farthest from the one booked by Summer Sutton, went inside, and booked a room for himself.

"I’d like a room for tonight, just for one person." He handed his ID to the front desk staff, and after completing the check-in process, Manuel Ink headed to the hotel’s buffet area to have a meal.

His actions were leisurely, and from time to time, he would take out a newspaper to glance at, as if appearing in such a place was merely for vacation purposes.

Watt Bennet monitored him from beginning to end, watching him enter the hotel, eating alone, and even watching him check in at night. All of Manuel Ink’s actions were within his sight.

Watt Bennet didn’t believe that he wasn’t with Summer Sutton. After Manuel Ink checked in, he walked in, revealing his identity as Adrian Walyon, and asked the front desk if there was any check-in information for Summer Sutton.

However, the answer he received was no.

The staff couldn’t possibly lie to him. When Manuel Ink booked the room earlier, Watt Bennet saw it, and there were no instructions given to the staff. If the staff said Summer Sutton wasn’t checked in, then she really wasn’t there.

As Watt Bennet walked out of the hotel, he suddenly felt lost.

The figure he saw this afternoon, other than being Summer Sutton, he couldn’t think of who else it could be.

Although it was just a fleeting glimpse, he was confident he couldn’t have mistaken her figure.

She must be in South France!

But, since she was already here and Manuel Ink was too, weren’t they together?

Initially, Watt Bennet wanted to find Summer Sutton through Manuel Ink, but now it seems impossible.

Without lingering outside the hotel where Manuel Ink stayed, Watt Bennet started inquiring one hotel after another locally.

The hotel staff who knew his identity would cooperate with him and tell him the truth.

But in the foreign countryside, where many didn’t know who he was, hotel staff unfamiliar with his relationship with Summer Sutton adhered to professional underpinnings of the service industry and didn’t reveal any check-in information about Summer Sutton.

That night, Watt Bennet asked around dozens of hotels in the area but didn’t get any information about Summer Sutton.

Standing before a flower field in the small town, staring blankly at the sea of flowers ahead, his brows knitted tightly.

She’s avoiding him.

He had searched the world for her for so long. Now that it’s clear they might be in the same place, yet she refuses to see him...

The small towns in South France are too many, adding to that, it’s in the suburbs. If he still misses her in this place, there’s no predicting where she might go next, Watt Bennet pondered.

The rural roads are hard to traverse, with so many mountains, where could he possibly find her?

Deep in thought, with his eyes closed in contemplation, reflecting on where he should venture next to find Summer Sutton, from a nearby inn to the flower field, a silhouette suddenly emerged.

When Watt Bennet looked over, the person exiting faced his direction.

Four eyes met, and the person at the inn’s entrance seemed momentarily stunned.

In the few seconds of mental blankness, Summer Sutton’s first reaction was to turn and get in a passing vehicle.
