Chapter 1352: Chapter 1452: I Do

The maid understood her words as meaning that Summer Sutton wanted to try on the wedding dress, but only if Manuel Ink came in person.

After Summer Sutton spoke, the maid left quickly and eagerly went downstairs to pass on the message.

So, after a short while, the maid’s crisp voice rang out in the living room on the first floor. "Young Master, Miss Sutton said she’d like to ask you to personally come over and help her try on the wedding dress!"

The living room was full of members of the Ink Family, from top to bottom.

The maid’s words made everyone’s eyes turn in unison to Manuel Ink.

Manuel Ink seemed not to have expected Summer Sutton to say something like that to the servant. He was choked for a moment by the maid’s message, and his face slowly lifted.

"What did you say?" He asked very slowly, sounding unsure.

The maid lowered her face and respectfully repeated what she had just said. "Young Master, what I said was, Miss Sutton would like to ask you to personally come over and help her try on the wedding dress!"

Manuel Ink seemed dazed for a few seconds. Once he had confirmed that every word before and after was exactly the same, he put the notebook in his hand aside, got up, and headed upstairs.

Old Master Ink was sitting off to the side, his fingertips tapping at the white porcelain teacup in his hand, playing with it one tap at a time.

Women, heh—he really didn’t believe there was any man of the Ink Family who couldn’t handle them.

Look at Summer Sutton, isn’t she just the same?

The second floor.

After going upstairs, Manuel Ink went straight toward Summer Sutton’s room.

He came to the door of Summer Sutton’s room, raised his hand, and knocked lightly. "Summer, you were looking for me?"

Hearing his voice, Summer Sutton reacted like she’d grabbed a lifeline, yanked the door open with a bang, and looked at him with pleading eyes. "Manuel, can I still trust you?"

Manuel Ink paused at her words, but didn’t think too much. "Anytime. You always can."

"Then will the wedding be held?" Summer Sutton anxiously grabbed his sleeve and pressed him.

Manuel Ink seemed to ponder for a moment at her question. His palm came to rest on the top of her head, gently rubbing her hair. "Got scared by Grandpa’s arrangements?"

His movements were incredibly gentle. They’d already come this far, and Summer Sutton had been staying on this island that belonged to the Inks for more than half a month now. Deep down she actually understood that the man in front of her was probably on the same side as Old Master Ink.

Even so, Summer Sutton still chose to believe him.

He was Manuel Ink.

The man who had only ever protected her, who had never once done anything to hurt her. He was her sun, her eternal light, never giving her a single speck of darkness.

If even Manuel Ink couldn’t be trusted, how many people were left in this world she could trust?

After Manuel Ink spoke, Summer Sutton fell silent for a moment, then lightly shook her head. "I’m just a bit caught off guard, but I’m not scared. Don’t I still have you?"

Manuel Ink seemed somewhat surprised by her words, and his gaze on her deepened.

He held her in a long, long stare, then slowly brought out a sentence. "Summer, if I asked you to cooperate with me... would you be willing?"

"..." Summer Sutton was stunned by his words.

She had no idea what kind of game Manuel Ink was playing right now, and she couldn’t see through it.

After he spoke, she was silent for quite a while, her head lowered, not saying a word for a long stretch of time.

Seeing her like this, Manuel Ink assumed that she would definitely refuse his proposal without hesitation.

Who knew that after Summer Sutton had been silent for a very, very long time, she finally lifted her face and gave him two firm words. "I’m willing!"

Manuel Ink was clearly caught off guard. He stared at her in a daze for a long time without managing to say anything.
