Kalon returned to Earth still feeling the lingering sensation of Nyphara’s tongue running along his body.

Slowly but surely, Veylora was becoming his favourite planet, and he hardly even knew anything about the place.

Afterward, Kalon focused on his reward.

[Title Rewarded]

[Title: Light Bringer]

— The light inside of you shines so brightly that others are unable to tell lies to you. The lie that they were going to tell you is revealed within your mind. If they lie to others, you can sense it, as well as the lie they told.

— If you wish for lies to be allowed, that part of the title can be temporarily switched off, but you still receive knowledge that they are telling a lie, as well as the details of said lie.

...

Kalon was taken by surprise by this title.

It showed the clear difference between titles and passive skills.

This title was one that had no direct effect on his status or the statuses of others. If anything, it was more connected to his mental trait, Radiant Soul, and the concept of righteousness.

Although it would not help him in battle, Kalon saw this as an incredible title. One that would help him immensely when travelling to different planets.

Since it not only prohibited others from lying, but also told him what they were lying about and what they planned to say, he could learn a lot about someone’s character just from questioning them.

For example, if he were to ask someone if they had an affinity to water, they would be forced to answer with the truth. They could, of course, choose not to answer the question, but that would reveal the answer in its own way.

After all, if you did not have an affinity to water, there would be no need to lie about it.

If he witnessed someone else ask a similar question, that person would be allowed to lie. However, Kalon would know exactly what they lied about, therefore revealing what their true affinities were.

On top of all this, Kalon could also allow lies to be told to him when he thought it might benefit him.

Just after going over a few scenarios in his head, Kalon could tell just how useful it would be.

In fact, he found himself eager to try it.

Without wasting any time, he travelled to Venduros.

[You have arrived!]

[Welcome to Venduros!]

"HEE-YAH!"

As soon as Kalon arrived on Venduros, he noticed a large ball of mud flying towards him.

His first instinct was to go on the offensive.

Rather than diving out of the way to dodge, he activated Astral Counter and held up both palms.

The small, boulder-sized ball of mud crashed into his hands and was absorbed perfectly by the SSS-Rank skill.

B Skill: Muddy Globe

As soon as he acknowledged that the skill was relatively weak, he was prepared to dash forward and use the force of the skill to send it back at his attacker.

The skill had a slowing effect, so he planned on using it to slow down the enemy while also dealing damage.

However, when the Muddy Globe faded away, Kalon saw Josinia standing across a dirt field from him.

She had her hands raised as though she had just cast a spell, and she was wearing flowing black pants and only a training bra to cover her chest.

The rest of her purple skin was doused in sweat, making her look glossy. Her white hair was dishevelled and falling out of a hair bun, leaving strands covering her face.

The two stared at each other with wide eyes.

Kalon palmed his face.

"Jesus Christ... I thought you were an enemy."

Josinia lowered her hands and relaxed once she saw that her attack hadn’t hurt him.

"I’m so sorry, Kalon. I didn’t know you were going to be there. I just... wait a minute, who’s Jesus Christ?"

Ignoring her question, Kalon swiftly changed the subject.

He looked the woman up and down and smiled slightly.

"So, you’ve been practising?" he said proudly.

A smile spread across the Vendurian’s face too as she nodded.

"Yes, and I’ve even awakened a second skill!"

"Hmm, B-Rank Skill, Muddy Globe. An attack that both deals damage and lowers the target’s Agility attribute temporarily. Impressive."

Josinia stared at him with wide pink eyes.

"H-how did you know?"

"Just one of the skills I have. It allows me to read the skills that I parry while also absorbing them into my body so that the force can be used in my next attack."

"..."

All Josinia could do was stare back at him blankly.

Now that she was a mage herself, she understood the implications of such a skill.

In her mind, it carried immense power.

"Am I allowed to ask what rank that skill is?" she then asked.

Kalon contemplated whether it would be wise to give her a direct answer.

After some thought, he decided to be straight with her.

"SSS-Rank."

...

Kalon and Josinia made their way back to the resistance city to see the state of things.

The civil war was dying down, or at least being put on pause temporarily.

It seemed that the empire assumed Kalon was a constantly present force in the empire. Until they could find out that it wasn’t actually the case, and that he often returned to the blue planet, they wouldn’t attack again.

Once in the city, Kalon was treated like a celebrity.

No, rather like a commander of war.

They did not bow when he walked past, but they showed him respect in other ways.

Many people he walked past thanked him enthusiastically for what he had done for them.

What shocked him most was that on one building specifically, he saw a poster. It didn’t quite look like him, but it was clearly depicting a human slaying a bunch of evil-looking Vendurians with horns.

Kalon looked at all of this, pleased.

He also had a meeting with the princess herself, which he was currently heading towards with Josinia.

He found himself looking forward to it.
