One hour later...

Kalon sat on the edge of his bed with his chin buried in his palms.

He was still recovering from the words he had spoken to the princess earlier that night.

Words that, although he spoke them with confidence, required every fibre of his being to get out.

His reasoning behind such a rash request was obvious.

To be truthful, Kalon did not have much interest in a romance with the princess.

Dividing his attention between women on multiple different planets was already difficult enough, so he would try to limit himself as much as he could.

However, he felt certain that the Space Seducer System would soon give him a quest related to the princess.

Warning her in advance that such a thing might happen in the future meant she wouldn’t be surprised when the time came.

As for her reaction...

...

Back on Venduros...

Princess Unestia sat on her throne in deep thought.

She had a goblet of orange wine in her hand that she sipped from frequently.

There was still commotion going on in the palace. In fact, throughout the entire city.

News of a human who was stronger than all of the Vendurions, and also on the side of the resistance, was spreading like wildfire.

Everyone was filled with excitement.

Except for Princess Unestia, or at least it looked that way.

"You’ve looked worried ever since that human arrived," a man’s voice suddenly said.

Princess Unestia looked up to find the Commander of the Knights of the Resistance, Glorian.

He was a tall, purple-skinned man with beautiful long white hair, a suit of armour made from gold, and a golden longsword on his back that was as tall as he was.

His beauty was spoken about throughout all of Venduros, and he had once been the right-hand man of the emperor himself before leaving to join the resistance.

He was also the man Unestia was supposed to marry someday.

"If you would like, I can execute the alien when he next arrives. You know that you can trust my swordsmanship."

Glorian was a prideful man.

The fact that a human, whom everyone claimed to be the strongest on the planet, had suddenly arrived bothered him deeply.

He would love an excuse to cut the man down.

Princess Unestia remained tense, taking a swig of her wine to try and calm herself down.

Afterward, she wiped her beautiful mouth.

"He’s Diamond, a rank we have never even heard of. We can’t just cut him down. He is useful to us."

"Pfffttt!"

Commander Glorian threw his head back and laughed loudly.

The sound drew the attention of everyone who still remained in the room.

"You seriously believe that the human is a rank above Gold?" he asked in disbelief.

Princess Unestia didn’t answer immediately.

Glorian furrowed his brows at the princess. There seemed to be a slight anger growing inside him.

"You think that he is more powerful than me, the first High-Gold in history?"

Princess Unestia’s cheeks blushed a darker purple.

She took another sip of wine.

"I-I did not say—"

"Well, if he’s a rank higher than mine, then you must think that. You really believe that there is a man stronger than me?"

This was the temper of the man named Glorian. A Vendurion who believed there was no one better than him.

That used to be true.

But with the introduction of an alien species to their planet, that had changed.

Before the conversation could continue, the man stormed out of the room, leaving Unestia alone on her throne.

She downed the rest of her drink and relaxed back in her chair.

"So short-tempered..." she said beneath her breath.

The worst thing about it was that he didn’t even know what the human had asked her.

How the alien had disrespected her royalty and dared to ask for something so perverted.

No... That’s not the worst thing.

...

What is worse is that he doesn’t know that I accepted without hesitation.

The princess raised a hand to get one of her maidservants’ attention.

"Please refill my cup... In fact, bring me the whole bottle."

She would need to drown out her thoughts throughout the night, like she often did.

...

Kalon slept and woke up the next day with an absurd amount of pain coursing through his body.

It was more pain than he had ever felt before.

He realised what it was when he stood up.

His height... He had grown again, and it was a bigger jump than he had ever made before.

He measured himself using a tape measure he had bought after earning the Formidable Body trait.

Once done, he looked at himself in the mirror with wide eyes.

"Five-foot-seven..."

It was still shorter than average, but much taller than he had been before. Not only that, but his body had continued to become more developed, and his face more chiselled and handsome.

His black hair had grown to what he thought was the perfect length, and it had a healthy glow to it at all times.

It’s like having a second growth spurt...

After checking out his new physical features, he also saw that his Daily Blessing was buffing his strength that day.

Just as he was about to leave for another day at the academy, he noticed a piece of paper on his doorstep.

It was a letter.

He swiftly read it, and the longer he did, the wider the smile on his face became.

It was a message from the headmaster of the Academy of Systems himself.

His and Thea’s entry form for the duo tournament, taking place in less than a month, had been accepted.

In just a day, they had been entered, and in two weeks’ time, the official bracket would be released.

Kalon wasted no time pulling out his phone to send Thea a message.

Now that everything was official, it was important for them to start training properly.

It would also give him more time to further advance with her...
