Kalon stepped into the throne room and stopped just past the large wooden doors.
The hall was larger than he expected. The ceilings were high and there were pillars running along the length of the room.
There were also torches on the walls, and benches beneath them for people to sit at during meetings.
At the far end of the hall was a raised platform with a single dark stone throne on it.
Several resistance leaders and knights stood along the sides, watching him carefully as he entered.
Princess Unestia sat on that throne.
Just as before, she was the only Vendurion Kalon had ever seen with black hair. It fell in long, straight strands past her shoulders, beside a face that looked young and serious.
Her skin was the same smooth purple as the rest of her people. Her body was curvier than most, with large, heavy breasts that pressed against the tight red dress she wore.
The dress left her shoulders bare and hugged her curves closely.
Her pink eyes locked onto him the moment he stepped fully into the light.
For a long moment, no one spoke.
Unestia’s eyes widened. Her fingers tightened on the arms of the throne. She leaned forward slightly, as if she needed a clearer look.
"A human..." she whispered. Then her voice rose, filled with disbelief. "A real human. Standing in my hall."
She stood up slowly. The red dress shifted with her movement.
She took one careful step down from the platform, still staring at him.
"How have you done what your people have failed to do since the beginning of time? How have you left the blue planet? Unless our studies were wrong, no one can enter or leave the barrier that surrounds it."
Kalon opened his mouth to answer.
He wasn’t going to tell her the truth. He was just going to explain that he was truly different from other humans.
Before he could speak a single word, however, Unestia raised one hand.
"Never mind. It doesn’t matter right now. The how can wait."
She stepped down the rest of the way and stopped a few paces in front of him.
Her pink eyes studied his face, then his body, then the faint scorch marks still on his clothes.
"I have already heard the reports from the knights," she continued. "You saved them from twenty empire knights in the forest. You wiped almost all of them out by yourself. Only a few escaped. For that... thank you."
Her voice softened a little on the last words. She clasped her hands in front of her.
"I will be honest with you. I am sceptical of humans. Your kind is locked on the blue planet for reasons that have never been explained to us."
"Many of my people fear what a human might bring. But you are an enemy of the empire, just as we are. That makes you an ally in my eyes. For now."
Kalon met her gaze without looking away. He could feel every person in the room watching him.
Some looked afraid. Others looked hopeful.
All he was thinking about was getting to the point.
The longer he was questioned, the higher the chances were that he would mess up.
"Just so you know, I cannot stay here forever," Kalon said. His voice was calm. "I must return to Earth soon. My planet still needs me. Whatever it is that you would like to discuss, we should make it quick."
This also put him in a slight position of power. Now, the terms of the conversation were on him.
Unestia nodded slowly. She did not look surprised.
"I understand. Then I have an abrupt question to ask you."
"What is your rank?"
Kalon answered without hesitation, giving the same response that he had given to Lionedis and Handrid.
"Diamond."
It was a rank never heard of in their world.
The word hung in the air.
No one moved or spoke.
Knights who had been standing tall now stared with wide eyes. One of the older resistance leaders actually took a step back.
Unestia stared at Kalon for several long seconds. Her pink eyes searched his face as if looking for any sign of a lie.
Then she simply said, "I see."
Without another word, she dropped to one knee in front of him.
Her head lowered in clear respect. The red dress pooled around her on the stone floor. Her black hair fell forward, partially covering her face.
The entire room gasped.
Knights and leaders stared with open mouths. Some whispered in disbelief.
One leader took a half-step forward before stopping himself.
A human standing while their princess knelt was something none of them had ever imagined possible.
It shouldn’t be allowed.
Unestia kept her head bowed as she spoke.
"I will always be the ruler of this city. That will never change. But I must acknowledge a being stronger than myself... no, all of us. Diamond rank is something beyond our comprehension... It also explains your strength, and the reason why you are able to come to our planet freely."
Yes... Except I’m actually Mid-Silver...
The princess lifted her head just enough to look up at him. Her pink eyes were serious.
"I beg you. Help us in our fight against the empire. Even if you must return to Earth, any aid you can give will change everything for us. We have survived this long on our own, but with someone of your strength... we might finally have a real chance."
Kalon looked down at the kneeling princess.
The weight of every eye in the room pressed on him, but he remained calm. He could feel the hope in the air.
He gave them his answer.
"I will help, but there must be something in it for me."
A wave of quiet relief passed through the hall.
Unestia rose slowly to her feet, her expression becoming soft.
「Princess Unestia +1 Seduction」
﹂Seduction Stage One: 1%
The resistance leaders began speaking among themselves in low, excited voices.
They would actually have a Diamond-ranked human helping them with the civil war. For the first time, the resistance felt like it had a real chance.
"Of course. Name your price, and you will have it," the princess said, not bothered by the details.
Whatever he asked, she knew it would be worth giving in return for his help.
Kalon had a feeling that opinion might change.
He leaned in and gave his answer in a whispered tone that only he and the princess could hear.
"When the time is right, I’d like to enjoy your body."
"..."
Princess Unestia’s jaw fell open.
