It seemed that he didn’t earn any new traits. However, Silver Blood’s efficiency had been increased. This enhanced all of his natural recovery, immunities, etcetera, by a small amount.
As for his attributes, they had all increased by a sub-tier. Stamina had increased by two sub-tiers, which, with Daily Blessing, made it currently sit at A-rank.
His only D-rank attribute was agility now.
His health had also increased to 175.
By the time he had reached the end of the forest, he had finished checking everything he needed to see.
He stood at the edge of the forest and looked out at the city of the resistance.
There was no battle going on, but there was a lot of commotion. It seemed that Josinia and the others had spread the word immediately.
The question now was whether Kalon should finally reveal himself to the resistance or continue helping them from the shadows.
...
It didn’t take long to come to his decision.
Almost twenty men had been slain with ease. It would be hard for Josinia and the others to explain how that had happened to the resistance without telling the truth.
That would only put them in a difficult situation.
So, Kalon decided that he would finally reveal himself.
...
He stepped out of the forest and onto the dirt road leading into the city. His clothes were scorched from the battle, but he walked with steady steps, calm and unbothered.
The faint smell of smoke still clung to him.
The moment the first Vendurions spotted him, everything stopped.
A woman carrying a basket froze mid-step. Her pink eyes went huge. The basket slipped from her hands and hit the ground with a thud.
"That’s... that’s a human."
Her voice was barely a whisper, but it was heard by others around her.
More people turned. Then more. Within seconds, the entire street had gone silent.
"Impossible..."
"Humans can’t leave their planet. Everyone knows that."
"How is he standing here? How did he even breathe our air?"
"This has to be some kind of illusion."
Children stared with open mouths.
An old man stumbled backwards, gripping a wall for support.
Whispers turned into panicked chatter that spread through the city with ease.
"A real human... from Earth..."
"They said it was impossible. The barrier, the distance, everything..."
"Can he teleport? What if more of them come?"
"Is he an ally?"
Kalon kept walking. Every step he took made the crowd part instinctively.
People backed away as if his very presence forced them to. Some covered their mouths.
Others pointed with shaking fingers.
This is a lot...
Soon, the city guards arrived in force. Nearly a dozen armoured Vendurions rushed into the street, spears raised and faces filled with pure disbelief.
The lead guard’s voice cracked when he spoke.
"Stop right there! You... you’re human. How did you leave Earth? How are you even alive here?!"
Kalon stopped a few metres away. He didn’t raise his hands.
"My name is Kalon, and I’m an ally. I came to help the resistance."
The guards looked at each other like they had seen a ghost. One of them actually took a step back.
"Ally? Help? Humans are trapped on Earth. It’s a known fact across the entire universe. This is impossible!"
Another guard shouted,
"Seize him! Something is wrong. No human should be able to stand on Venduros!"
Two guards moved forward, spears pointed at his chest. Their hands were shaking despite the fact that they were all likely of a higher rank than him.
Before they could touch him, familiar voices cut through the chaos.
"Stop!"
Josinia pushed through the crowd, followed by Bethaniu, Lionedis, and Handrid.
The two knights looked exhausted but glad to see that Kalon was back.
That meant that he had avenged their friend’s death.
Josinia planted herself between Kalon and the guards, breathing hard.
"Don’t touch him! He’s the one who saved us!"
The lead guard stared at her like she had lost her mind.
"Saved you? That... thing is a human. Humans can’t even leave their world!"
Lionedis stepped forward, his voice firm.
"Twenty empire knights ambushed us in the forest. The fact that he’s here could only mean one thing..."
Handrid nodded sharply and added,
"He must have taken them down... He avenged the death of my beloved, didn’t you?"
Kalon nodded.
The entire street fell into stunned silence again.
A real human from Earth standing in their city. Strong enough to wipe out twenty empire knights alone.
The lead guard’s spear slowly lowered. His face was still full of shock.
It was as though his mind had finally processed what was going on.
The decision was not his to make here.
"This... this changes everything. If what you say is true, the Princess must see him immediately."
He looked at Kalon with a mixture of fear and awe.
"Will you come with us to see the Princess? If you are an ally like you claim to be, she will have a lot she wishes to speak to you about."
Kalon simply nodded. He didn’t need to think before answering.
"Sure, lead the way. But we should be quick. I can’t stay here forever. My time is limited."
...
Afterwards, Kalon was led through the streets by the entourage of guards. The whispers throughout the streets didn’t stop until they reached the palace.
Even inside, Kalon could feel the eyes of the palace servants staring at him.
Eventually, they arrived at a giant double door leading to the throne room.
Inside was one of the most powerful women on the entire planet.
Princess Unestia.
