"Begin!"
As soon as the words left Theodora’s mouth, Derrick and Lira shot forwards towards their opponents like arrows.
Bursts of fire and smoke erupted from their backs, coming from a skill that allowed them to move faster.
On top of that, their agility attributes were clearly already high. Perhaps within the B-tier.
With this skill, they most certainly were A- minimum.
Their plan was to use this to deal with Kalon and Thea swiftly before they realised their enemies’ weaknesses.
However, as they swiftly closed the distance, they both suddenly noticed something was wrong.
Their speed had dropped drastically.
It felt like they had come into contact with a wall of water and were having to move through it.
What was once low A-tier agility had fallen all the way to mid C-tier.
Their speed, which was once greater than mosts, became the average of professionals.
Kalon didn’t smile when he saw this because he wasn’t in the mood to.
This was the SSS-rank Water passive, Deep Sea Pressure, and it was working well.
Before the fight had even started, he checked to see if either of his opponents had a Water affinity.
They didn’t. Only a Fire affinity and a dormant Wind affinity. Therefore they would be targeted by the skill.
He knew that their agility would be dropped by six sub-tiers beforehand.
Thea noticed this and immediately charged towards Derrick. As she dashed, she summoned a bubble of water and consumed it, turning all of her movements floaty.
It was an interesting skill, and Kalon wanted to see exactly how he would use it, but he didn’t have the time.
He had to focus on his own opponent.
Lira, the one who was recording.
He didn’t know whether she was truly hired by someone. Perhaps she was just recording for her own personal studies.
The problem was that she didn’t ask him beforehand.
For that, she had to be punished, and his Radiant Soul had no problem delivering it.
Kalon activated Crown of Heaven.
The golden crown appeared above his head, casting a beautiful glow over his body and the area around him.
He knew that those witnessing what was happening would be completely stunned. Especially Theodora, who had no clue about his Light affinity.
Kalon looked across the field at Lira, who was approaching him. Her movements hesitated for a second as she caught sight of the crown.
She could not believe it.
And she did not need to.
With Daily Blessing currently boosting Kalon’s agility, it was at B when he woke up.
This already put his agility above Lira’s current agility due to Deep Sea Pressure affecting her.
However, with Crown of Heaven’s buff, Kalon’s agility was now resting at a staggering SS+.
An inconceivable amount of speed.
Kalon burst forwards.
In Lira’s eyes, she watched as the young man became a blur and simply disappeared.
By the time she blinked, she felt a strong breeze brush past her.
Her pockets also suddenly became lighter.
She tapped them, feeling for the phone that had been secretly sticking out and recording, only to find that it was no longer there.
Crunch!
She turned around and saw the crown-wearing Kalon standing a few metres behind her.
He was holding a crushed phone in his hand, crumbling the plastic and metal bits onto the floor.
Lira was left in a state of both shock and guilt. Her scheme had been caught, and this man had demonstrated a near-impossible feat to expose it.
"Kalon... I..."
She opened her mouth to begin trying to defend her actions.
But the next moment, the young man became another blur.
Following this, a tremendous force crashed into her chest, right above her left breast.
It hit her with so much force that she felt her ribcage cave in, shattering a few ribs in the process.
She was sent flying across the grass, tumbling over herself again and again until she suddenly came to a stop on the ground.
She clutched at her chest where the strike had hit her.
It was slightly caved in, like it had been dented.
Her fingers dug into the dent in her chest, but the pain was already fading...?
"Ugh... huh..."
Then, there was a single, violent flutter beneath her ribs.
Her heart, which had been hammering only a moment ago, fell unnaturally still.
A wave of weakness flooded through her body. The strength drained from her limbs almost instantly, and her vision narrowed until the world became a dim tunnel.
Her lips parted in a silent gasp, desperate for a breath that no longer seemed to matter.
Before she could even process what was happening, everything was restored to normal.
She looked around, gasping deeply for air and thoroughly confused.
Her partner, Derrick, and Thea had stopped their fight.
Kalon was standing a distance away, still wearing the golden crown.
And Theodora was approaching her with an expression of rage on her face.
She stood over Lira, who had been healed by the safety system but was still stunned from the pain.
"Not only are you recording one of my students, but you are also recording on my property. Both without my permission."
Lira tried to scoot herself backwards, fearful of what the number-one-ranked fighter in their organisation might do to her.
"P-please, don’t hurt me! It was Moon Greatest! He asked me to."
Kalon’s brows rose.
Moon Greatest, the brother of Sun Greatest and child of Atlas Greatest.
He was the one who had put Lira up to this, as he wanted more information on the fighter who had been in conflict with his sister online.
Theodora replied bluntly.
"I’m not gonna hurt you. I don’t feel like getting arrested."
She turned to look at Derrick, who was clearly a guilty accomplice.
"Both of you get out of my house before I change my mind."
Without wasting a single second, the pair dashed out of the garden, back through the house, and out of the front gates.
They had no plans to test Theodora’s patience.
