Kalon watched the dragon dive toward him, jaws wide open and its melting armour streaming off its body.

He raised his hand and pulled three of the remaining suns together.

The golden orbs merged into one much larger sphere. The heat became so intense that the air around it warped and crackled.

The power of three merged spheres was immense. Anything that was weak to the element of fire in the vicinity would be incapable of surviving.

He fired it.

The combined sun shot upward like a second sun rising. It met the diving dragon head-on.

For a split second, the entire marketplace turned pure white.

Then the explosion hit.

The Frozen Dragon’s body came apart. Layers of ice vaporised in an instant.

What had been a massive, terrifying creature collapsed into a wave of water and steam that crashed down across the centre of the marketplace square.

The wave slammed into Kalon, knocking him back several steps and dousing the last of the orbiting suns.

The flaming lights were blown out one by one as the water washed over him.

Kalon stood in the middle of the flooded marketplace, his clothes soaked and steam rising from his body.

He wiped water from his face and let out a slow breath.

It was unfortunate that the skill had fizzled out, but he didn’t mind.

Ninefold Sunbreaker was powerful, but it was not his only weapon. He still had other skills ready, and something in his gut told him the hard part of the fight was already over.

The roars that he was hearing in the distance likely came from the dragon and also the creatures that it was killing.

He guessed there were very few creatures remaining in the battle royale.

...

Kalon rolled his shoulders and activated Crown of Heaven.

A golden radiance spawned above his head, forming the shape of a crown. Warm light spread across his body, pushing back the lingering cold of the water that had splashed onto him.

His agility was immediately boosted.

Since his stamina was currently being boosted by Daily Blessing, he felt good.

He listened closely, trying to hear the sounds of footsteps travelling throughout the city.

Once locked onto something, Kalon lowered his stance and started moving at tremendous speed through the streets.

...

Far away in the small ice-brick house, the family of four sat in complete silence.

The father’s hands had gone limp on the arms of his chair.

The mother’s hands were still pressed to her lips.

Both children stared at the crystal screen with wide eyes.

On the display, the massive Frozen Dragon, the creature every citizen of Cryos believed to be nearly invincible, had just been erased by three combined suns.

This creature was owned by none other than Headmaster Runa, and she had now been wiped from the battle.

The tidal wave of its melted body still washed across the marketplace, and in the middle of that destruction stood the Cryon-shaped summon, now glowing with a soft golden crown of light.

"It killed the dragon..." the father whispered. "It actually killed the Frozen Dragon. Headmaster Runa has lost..."

The mother shook her head slowly.

"Nothing is supposed to be able to do that. Not even the old legends speak of fire strong enough to destroy one of the guardian dragons."

The older child pointed at the screen with a trembling finger.

"He’s still moving. He’s going after the rest! Just how high is his mana?"

The camera view shifted, following the glowing figure as he left the flooded centre of the marketplace.

Kalon moved fast, golden light trailing behind him.

Whenever a remaining ice beast tried to stand in his way, he closed the distance and finished it with precise, overwhelming force, sometimes with an Astral Counter, sometimes with pure physical power enhanced by the crown’s radiance.

One by one, the last summons fell.

Some tried to run, but he caught them easily.

Even the most agile of summons couldn’t match him, especially if they were being affected by Deep Sea Pressure or his title, Bully Breaker.

Some tried to group together when they noticed that he was the strongest.

He broke them apart. The streets gradually became more and more empty, and the remaining summons were wiped out.

The youngest child spoke in a small voice as he watched the summon act.

"Is he going to win?"

No one answered at first.

On the screen, Kalon stood alone in the middle of a wide road. No other summons remained in sight.

The golden crown above his head still shone steadily.

A long moment passed.

Then the official tournament crystal flares lit up across the city, signalling the end of the battle.

The announcer’s voice echoed through every viewing screen in the capital:

"Victory... Sifa of the Summoners Academy. Her summon, Kalon, is the last one standing!"

The father leaned back in his chair, staring at the glowing figure on the screen.

"That summon..." he said quietly. "That thing just changed everything we thought we knew about this world."

The mother finally lowered her hands from her mouth. Her voice was barely above a whisper.

"And it belongs to a first-year student. How is this possible... How?"

On the crystal screen, Kalon looked up toward the summoner platforms, the golden light of Crown of Heaven still above his head.

The entire city of Cryos stared back at him, trying to understand what they had just witnessed.

...

Not long after the victory was declared, official escorts arrived.

Two high-ranking Cryon guards in polished ice armour approached Sifa’s booth and bowed respectfully.

Another pair waited for Kalon at the edge of the marketplace.

Their orders were clear: the winning summoner and her summon were to be brought before the Governor immediately to receive their reward.

...

They were taken to the Parliament House, an elegant building that was home to the ruler of Cryos.

Governor Qyra.

After being escorted through the building, they arrived at the end of a corridor that opened up into a giant hall.

The hall was lined with guards, and at the far end was a long desk with four council members sitting behind it, dressed in suits.

At the centre was a woman whose beauty far exceeded what Kalon had expected.

Her skin was made from smooth ice. She was dressed in a black suit with gold lining along the edges. Her chest was medium-sized, and she was tall and slender, giving her the look of a model.

Her face was flawlessly gorgeous, with curly ice hair that had somehow taken on a shade of pink.

When the woman spotted the summoner and her summon entering the room, her eyes immediately landed on Kalon.

Then his system flared in his mind.
