Chapter 293: Chapter 293: Gathering of the Nine Thrones

Chapter 293: Gathering of the Nine Thrones

Deep within the towering central spire of the Crucible Arena, an environment completely disconnected from the blood-soaked sands of the colosseum below.

A meeting had been convened in a lavish, heavily warded private chamber.

Inside this impenetrable sanctum, nine figures sat in a wide circle.

Nine Seats of the Crucible Throne.

Unlike their public appearances, their masks were removed, revealing faces that had been severely weathered by centuries of relentless slaughter.

All of them had crawled over mountains of corpses to claim their thrones.

At the head of the table sat the First Seat.

He was a massive, scarred behemoth of a man whose simple breathing seemed to distort the space around him.

The overwhelming pressure radiating from his body marked him undeniably as a peak Domain Master Realm expert—a man who was just a hairsbreadth away from the half step Monarch Realm.

"We have an anomaly," the First Seat spoke in a deep voice, "A Silver Rank 1 fighter operating under the alias ’Asura’. In just two days, he has fought five death matches. He has won every single one of them, completely overwhelming Gold Rank 1 veterans."

The First Seat’s eyes narrowed. "But what concerns me is not his combat strength. It is his method to enslave his opponents instead of killing and completely draining the fortunes of the five Domain Masters he defeated. He is disrupting the economy of our arena."

"A first-level Core Formation boy crushing early-stage Domain Masters?" The Third Seat, a withered old man with a venomous aura, let out a raspy, mocking chuckle. "It sounds eerily familiar, doesn’t it? He almost reminds me of our newest colleague."

The Third Seat’s gaze shifted across the table.

While the other eight seats were occupied by weathered, ancient killers, the Ninth Seat was a glaring contrast.

He was a devastatingly handsome young man, appearing no older than eighteen or nineteen.

He wore pristine white robes, completely untouched by the filth of the arena.

He sat lazily in his chair, his feet propped up on the table.

But no one dared to look down on his casual behaviour.

A razor-sharp, sword energy radiated from the young man’s relaxed body continuously.

The sword intent was so incredibly dense and lethal that the space around his chair seemed to be constantly sliced into ribbons.

None of the other Seats dared to sit within ten feet of him.

At this moment, the handsome youth was completely ignoring the high-level meeting.

He was casually wiping a speck of dried blood from the edge of a breathtakingly beautiful longsword of an unknown, unfathomable grade.

Hearing the Third Seat’s mocking comparison, the youth finally paused his cleaning.

He slowly lifted his head, a lazy, arrogant smirk playing on his lips.

"Compare him to me?" the Ninth Seat chuckled.

His voice was smooth, yet it carried an innate, bone-chilling superiority.

He rested the flat of his blade against his shoulder, his eyes flashing with disdain.

"Do not insult me with such garbage," the Ninth Seat murmured lazily. "There is no one in this world who can compare to me. I was born from the best, and I was raised to be the best. If this ’Asura’ ever crosses my path... I won’t even need to draw my sword to cut him into a thousand pieces."

The sheer arrogance of the youth made a few of the older Seats twitch, but not a single one of them dared to voice an objection.

They all knew exactly how this boy had claimed his throne two months ago.

His strength was incomprehensible even for them.

"Let’s not jump to conclusions," a smooth, cunning voice interrupted.

It was the Fifth Seat, an alluring woman with sharp, venomous eyes.

"Think about it rationally," the Fifth Seat said, tapping a slender finger against the table. "He isn’t just killing his opponents; he is deliberately enslaving them through Heavenly Vows. It is clear that he is gathering power."

Her lips curled into a calculating smile.

"My deductions says that he is undoubtedly a high-ranking noble heir from the outside world, fleeing from some powerful enemies. He is using our arena to rebuild his power base."

"So, what do we do?" the Third Seat asked, his eyes flashing with malice. "Do we squash him before he gathers too many dogs?"

The First Seat sat in silence for a moment, then he finally spoke.

"No," the First Seat finally decided, waving his hand dismissively. "Let him play his little games. Even if he enslaves a dozen early-stage Domain Masters, it is nothing more than a mob of rabble. He is a Silver Rank 1. Until he proves he can threaten the higher echelons or challenges one of us, he is not a true threat to the Thrones."

The First Seat leaned back, his eyes closing. "Ignore him. Crucible Arena has swallowed many prodigies in the past."

Meanwhile, thousands of miles away, in the Stormveil City’s Thunderwood Noble Family.

Celestial Elixir Pavilion.

Despite the vicious rumors surrounding the "demonic addiction" of their pills and the vague, ominous warning from the Royal Alchemist, the street outside the towering commercial building was still packed with people.

Many were protesting, demanding answers, while others were desperately trying to buy pills before the Pavilion was forced to shut down.

Standing at the grand entrance, acting as an immovable deterrent, were two newly recruited Domain Master guest elders.

Inside the main hall, Luka, Dex, Ives, Orin, and Ezra were frantically managing the chaotic situation, their faces grim.

With Vulcan having departed for Valdris City on Rhain’s orders, Luka had taken charge of the Stormveil branch.

Suddenly—

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

A mountainous pressure descended upon the entire commercial district, instantly multiplying the gravity in the area by a hundredfold.

"AARRGH!"

"What is happening?"

The wealthy nobles and cultivators queuing outside the Pavilion were forced to their knees, their faces draining of color as they looked up in terror.

Even the two Domain Master guards stationed at the doors staggered, their expressions turning incredibly ugly as they frantically pushed their essence to resist the crushing weight.

Luka, Dex, and the rest of the mercenary brothers immediately rushed out of the pavilion, drawing their weapons.

When they looked up at the sky, their pupils contracted to pinpoints.

Hovering high above the Celestial Elixir Pavilion were five figures.

They wore the majestic, luxurious robes of the Imperial Court.

Four of them radiated the auras of middle-stage Domain Masters.

And standing at the very forefront, looking down at the pavilion as if looking at a nest of filthy ants, was a late-stage Domain Master!

"Royal Envoys!" Luka gritted his teeth, cold sweat instantly breaking out across his forehead.

The crowd in the street was completely paralyzed by fear.

The Royal Court had personally descended!

The late-stage Domain Master in the sky did not bother with any polite greetings.

He unrolled a glowing golden scroll that radiated an Imperial aura.

"HEAR THE DECREE OF HIS MAJESTY!"

The envoy’s booming voice echoed like divine thunder.

"It has been brought to the attention of the Royal Court that the establishment known as the Celestial Elixir Pavilion is suspected of harboring demonic arts! Their so-called flawless pills are suspected to be laced with corrupted essence, designed to harm the foundation of the Solathane Dynasty and enslave its citizens!"

The words dropped like a nuclear bomb onto the crowd.

The rumors that had been fiercely debated for days were now being formally validated by an Imperial Decree!

The late-stage Domain Master’s eyes turned chillingly cold as he glared down at Luka and the trembling Pavilion staff.

"The Emperor is merciful, and grants you one chance to prove your innocence," the envoy declared ruthlessly. "If the true backer of this establishment, Grandmaster Korryn, does not personally present himself before the Royal Court within exactly one month to prove the purity of his methods..."

The envoy’s cold voice froze the blood in everyone’s veins.

"...then it shall be deemed that the rumors are true. Celestial Elixir Pavilion, and every single one of its branches throughout the dynasty, will be leveled to the ground. And every man, and woman affiliated with this establishment will be executed without mercy!"

Swoosh—!

Without waiting for a single word of response or defense, the five Domain Masters simply turned and vanished into the clouds, their overwhelming auras dissipating as quickly as they had arrived.

The moment they left, the entire commercial district erupted into utter chaos.

"Did you hear that?! The Emperor has decreed it!"

"They really are selling demonic poison! We have been tricked!"

"Get away from the Pavilion! If you are associated with them when the month ends, the Royal Court will slaughter you too!"

The massive queue of wealthy buyers instantly shattered, people fleeing the streets as if evading a plague.

In the blink of an eye, the grand entrance of the Celestial Elixir Pavilion was completely deserted.

Luka, Dex, and the others stood frozen at the doorway, their faces ashen.

Inside the pavilion, the situation was even worse.

The dozen newly recruited Domain Master guest elders—who had joined purely for the promise of flawless Mystic-Grade pills—were now gathered in the main hall, their faces filled with panic and outrage.

"This is madness!" an early-stage Domain Master yelled, pacing frantically. "We signed up to guard a pill shop, not to go to war against the Solathane Emperor! The Royal Court is going to slaughter all of us!"

"If the Emperor wants this place destroyed, we have no chance of surviving!" another Domain Master roared, his eyes darting toward the exit. "We need to sever our contracts and flee immediately!"

"Calm down!" Dex bellowed, his muscular frame stepping into the hall. "We have one month! Grandmaster will handle this!"

"Handle this?" a middle-stage Domain Master sneered fiercely. "How? I haven’t seen him since we were recruited in the name of Grandmaster. We need him here right now! Call Grandmaster Korryn!"

All eyes instantly snapped toward Luka, who was standing near the entrance with his fists clenched so tightly his knuckles were bone-white.

Luka and his four mercenray brothers looked at the panicked Domain Masters.

Their faces were incredibly pale.

"I can’t," Luka whispered, his voice shaking with profound dread and helplessness.

"What do you mean you can’t?" Another panicked, and angry domain master demanded.

Luka swallowed hard, looking down at the talisman in his trembling hand.

"I have been trying to contact him since the rumors first started spreading yesterday," Luka admitted, looking up at the terrified Domain Masters.

"I’ve sent dozens of messages... but he isn’t answering. Master is completely unreachable."
