Chapter 292: Chapter 292: Bow or Die
Chapter 292: Bow or Die
Deathblade’s eyes widened behind his skull mask, completely dumbfounded by what he was seeing right in front of him.
The deep, bone-revealing cuts that had just been carved into Rhain’s arms and chest were healing.
The torn muscle fibers and shredded skin were actively knitting back together at a speed visible to the naked eye.
’Impossible!’ Deathblade screamed in his mind, ’Even a mid-stage Domain Master would need days of intensive meditation to heal from the Rending Storm Devastation! What kind of monstrous physique is this?’
It defied all logical laws of cultivation.
But Rhain did not give him a single second to process the shock.
He had paid a heavy price for this exact opening, and he was not about to let it slip.
Rhain abruptly pulled back the pressure of his heavy broadsword, his left hand curling into a fist as a vortex of pitch-black essence instantly gathered around his knuckles.
Void Fist. Second Form.
Sensing the danger, Deathblade hastily attempted to retreat.
He crossed his twin machetes in front of his chest, pouring his frantic essence into the blades to form an impenetrable shield.
But he had fundamentally misunderstood the nature of the attack.
Rhain punched the empty air.
The spatial transmission completely ignored the physical distance.
It completely phased through the crossed, essence-coated machetes as if they were nothing more than empty illusions.
BOOM—!!!
The pitch-black essence detonated directly against Deathblade’s chest.
"GAAAAH!"
Deathblade spat a massive mouthful of blood, his ribcage cracking audibly as the sheer kinetic force launched him backward through the dark void.
However, before he could even hit the ground, Rhain was already moving.
Boundless Sky Wind!
Rhain chased after him relentlessly, his speed multiplying to an inconceivable degree.
He materialized right above the airborne Deathblade, refusing to give him a single breath to concentrate his scattered essence and reform his domain of blades.
BANG! CLANG! BOOM!
A flurry of brutal clashes erupted in the darkness.
Deathblade could only raise his machetes in a desperate, panicked frenzy, parrying strikes that carried the monstrous physical force of the Abyssal Sovereign Physique.
With every clash, Rhain’s heavy broadsword and pitch-black fists battered against him, worsening his internal injuries.
The essence-devouring properties of the Void Fist were simultaneously siphoning his essence, dragging him deeper into a sense of despair.
He couldn’t cast his domain! Rhain simply wasn’t giving him the necessary time.
’If this continues, I will die!’ Deathblade realized frantically, his eyes turning entirely red behind his mask.
Driven by the pure instinct of a cornered beast, Deathblade bit the tip of his tongue, burning his own blood essence to forcefully halt his retreat.
"I WILL DRAG YOU TO HELL WITH ME!"
Deathblade ignored a devastating punch to his ribs, channeling every single drop of his remaining life force and essence into his twin blades.
"Mystic-Grade Martial Art: Bloodshade Cyclone Slash!"
A colossal, cross-shaped arc of crimson blade aura erupted from his weapons.
It was his ultimate, most powerful killing move.
Rhain also halted his advance.
His dark grey eyes remained chillingly calm beneath the Asura mask.
He casually extended his index and middle fingers of his right hand.
Buzz—!
The vortex of destruction gathered at his fingertips.
Emperor-Grade Martial Art: Heaven’s Judgement Finger.
Swoosh!
A concentrated beam of pitch-black light tore through the darkness.
It collided with the colossal crimson cross.
There was no struggle.
The pitch-black beam pierced right through the ultimate Mystic-Grade martial art as easily as a needle puncturing a dry leaf, shattering the crimson aura into millions of dissipating light.
The beam continued its trajectory, striking Deathblade squarely in the chest.
"AARRRGGGHHH!"
The pitch-black light drilled a bloody hole right through his torso, missing his heart by a mere fraction of an inch.
BOOM—!!!
Deathblade was blasted backward like a cannonball, flying across the arena until he crashed into the reinforced outer wall of the colosseum.
With the battle concluded, Rhain slowly lowered his hand.
WHOOSH.
The Origin Domain of Darkness rapidly receded, drawing back into the mark on his forehead.
The bright morning sunlight flooded back into the arena.
The hundred thousand spectators leaped from their seats, leaning over the railings, and desperately trying to see the outcome.
They could finally see the condition of the fearsome Deathblade.
He was slumped against the cracked arena wall, his twin machetes shattered on the ground.
Dozens of bloody wounds covered his body, but the most lethal was the hole in his chest that continuously poured out fresh blood.
He was completely and utterly defeated.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
The sound of unhurried footsteps echoed across the silent arena.
Rhain walked leisurely toward the broken Deathblade.
He stopped in front of Deathblade, resting the heavy, blood-stained broadsword directly against the man’s exposed throat.
"Are you ready to be my slave?" Rhain asked.
Deathblade’s entire body shuddered.
He looked up at the demonic Asura mask, feeling the icy blade of the broadsword against his skin.
He coughed up another mouthful of blood, the agonizing pain in his chest reminding him that he was mere seconds away from death.
He didn’t hesitate.
"I... I yield!" Deathblade gasped hoarsely, raising three trembling fingers. "I swear by the Heavens! From this day forth, I submit my life, my soul, and my loyalty to you..."
BOOM!
The faint rumble of thunder echoed in the clear sky above, and the invisible shackle of the Heavenly Vow bound itself indelibly into Deathblade’s spiritual sea.
Another Domain Master had been utterly subjugated.
Everyone had realised by now that Asura wasn’t a one-hit wonder!
The silence in the stands finally shattered.
"ASURA! ASURA! ASURA!"
The frenzied, fanatical chanting exploded, that could be heard throughout the Crucible Arena.
"He did it again! He enslaved another Domain Master!"
"This is madness! The Silver Rank 1 demon is unstoppable!"
In the stands, the towering, spike-armored figure of Skullcrusher watched the scene.
Deathblade was stronger than him, vastly more experienced and vicious, yet even he had been utterly crushed and forced to his knees to beg for his life.
Suddenly, being a slave to such a powerful man didn’t feel like a humiliating shame anymore.
Down in the arena, Rhain calmly lowered his broadsword.
He collected his massive winnings from the trembling referee, along with Deathblade’s spatial ring containing his life savings.
After a quick count, Rhain’s dark grey eyes gleamed with satisfaction.
He now possessed a staggering total of exactly 2,000 Blood-Iron Tokens.
Twenty billion Aetherium Crystals’ worth of currency.
But Rhain did not turn around and leave the arena.
With a swirl of his dark robes, he simply walked back up the stone steps and returned to his seat in the stands, with Deathblade limping obediently to stand beside Skullcrusher behind him.
The crowd buzzed with confusion.
Why hadn’t he left?
The answer became glaringly obvious three hours later.
Rhain had scheduled three matches for today.
When the announcer called his name again, the colosseum nearly lost themselves, cheering like madmen.
Rhain descended into the pit to face his second opponent of the day—another early-stage Domain Master known for his defensive earth-arts.
The match lasted less than five minutes.
Rhain’s Heaven’s Judgement Finger shattered the man’s ultimate defense, leaving him broken and kneeling in the sand.
Rhain gained his third Domain Master slave.
By the time the afternoon sun began to set, the entire Crucible Arena was in a state of everish delirium.
The name "Asura" was being chanted again and again.
"Final match of the day!" the announcer roared, his voice trembling with sheer excitement. "Can anyone stop this rising demon? Defending the challenge is the ruthless Gold Rank 1 executioner... VENOMFANG!"
A lean, sinister-looking man wearing a viper mask leaped into the ring, radiating a toxic, corrosive aura of the early-stage Domain Master.
Rhain stepped onto the sands for the third time today.
The bell rang.
Venomfang fought with desperate ferocity, unleashing a torrent of toxic mist and corrosive domain attacks.
But against the overwhelming devouring nature of the Abyssal Sovereign Physique, and the purity of the Red Tribulations Heavenly Flame, the poison was destroyed before it could harm Rhain in any sense.
BANG!
A Void Fist sent Venomfang crashing into the center of the arena, completely paralyzing his meridians and leaving him battered and helpless on the ground.
Rhain walked forward, his dark grey eyes staring down at the paralyzed assassin.
"Take a Heavenly Vow," Rhain commanded with an indifferent tone. "And I will let you live."
The thousands of spectators leaned forward, fully expecting to witness the fourth Domain Master submit to the rising demon.
But Venomfang spat a mouthful of blood, glaring up at the demonic Asura mask.
A sudden, arrogant sneer twisted his face.
’This man is just bluffing,’ Venomfang thought smugly. ’He hasn’t killed a single person since he got here! He just beats them up and asks them to be his slaves. He must be some soft-hearted, pampered noble brat who doesn’t actually have the guts to take a human life!’
Feeling entirely confident in his deduction, Venomfang spat on Rhain’s boot.
"I’d rather die than be a slave!" Venomfang sneered haughtily. "Go ahead! Kill me if you actually have the guts!"
A hundred thousand spectators stared at the arena floor, their eyes wide with shock.
Someone had actually refused Asura’s offer of life!
They all held their breath, wondering what the demonic masked man would do now.
Would he kill the man? Or would he show mercy?
Rhain looked down at the smug Venomfang.
Beneath the Asura mask, a faint, chilling smile brushed past Rhain’s lips.
"Stupid choice."
Fwoosh—!
Without any other unnecessary word, a blood-red spark ignited at the tip of Rhain’s finger.
He casually flicked the spark onto Venomfang’s chest.
"WAIT—!"
The moment the Red Tribulations Heavenly Flame made contact, it erupted into an apocalyptic inferno that instantly engulfed Venomfang’s entire body.
"AARRRGGGHHH!!!"
The most horrifying, blood-curdling scream of unimaginable agony ripped through the silent colosseum.
The heat of the Heavenly Flame was so high that it burnt his flesh, incinerated his meridians, his bones, and his very soul.
It was a pain worse than death even for a Domain Master.
"I SUBMIT! I YIELD! PLEASE! I WILL BE YOUR SLAVE! PLEASE STOP IT—!!!"
Venomfang thrashed wildly on the sand, shrieking hysterically as the fire rapidly devoured him alive.
Rhain didn’t even look down.
He simply turned his back, placing his hands casually behind him, and began walking leisurely toward the arena exit.
"AAAAAHHHHH—!"
The shrieks echoed for a few agonizing seconds before they were abruptly cut off.
The flames dissipated.
There was no corpse left behind.
Not even a single pile of ash remained on the blood-soaked sand.
Venomfang’s entire body had been burned to nothingness.
The spectators stared in mind-numbing horror.
Soft-hearted?
The man walking out of the arena had nothing to do with that word.
He was a ruthless, unfeeling demon who viewed their lives as nothing more than disposable trash.
As Rhain stepped through exit corridor, the three Domain Masters—Skullcrusher, Deathblade, and his newest slave, Bloodfiend, hastily fell into step behind him, their heads bowed low in unparalleled terror.
