Chapter 33: Chapter 33. Tim?

Chapter 33. Tim?

Rosa Lin’s POV

"What business do you have for the Dean? What do you have planned with him? What’s going on? Explain it to me," he said, stepping even closer to me.

I took a step back. "Honestly, you are confusing me right now," I said, still trying to control my voice. "Why the hell do you care? What’s wrong with you? Are you jealous?" I asked.

He raised an eyebrow. "Of course I’m not jealous. Why the hell would I be jealous of someone getting involved with a slut like you?" he snapped.

I felt a sharp, stabbing pain in my chest when he said that. My lips shook. I fell short of words, but I could still see the clear anger in his eyes.

"I really, really underestimated you," he said with an amused smile on his face.

I folded my arms and glared up at him.

"I actually feel kind of bad," he said, "what I did to you last semester. I saw your desperation, and I mistook it for some kind of childish little crush. I didn’t know it was up to this extent when I decided to make a move on you, when I suggested that I sleep with you. I didn’t expect you to agree so quickly. That was the moment I had this feeling that you might actually be some kind of filthy slut, and then I took advantage of it, and it worked out well. I felt guilty after, but now seeing you with the Dean, I’m beginning to rethink my thoughts. Maybe you are actually a slut after all," he said, stepping closer.

I closed my eyes and let out a soft breath. "Can you please stop?" I said.

"Why should I? You haven’t given me any reason to think otherwise."

I glared up at him. "I am not sleeping with the Dean! He only brought me back to school by himself in his car," I said.

"Why?" he asked. "Do you owe him anything? Does he owe you anything? What do the both of you have in common?"

"It’s none of your business," I snapped.

He raised an eyebrow. "Oh, now it’s none of my business because you don’t want to spill the beans," he said.

"I seriously cannot do this right now." I tried to side-step him, but he stood in front of me, obstructing me.

"Come on, don’t be so stubborn," he said, pushing against my shoulders and forcing me to stumble backwards.

I stared at him with disbelief. "Don’t you have somewhere to go, to be with your coach?" I asked.

At the mention of that, something struck me so hard. Tim. Tim claimed he was his coach. I had checked the official website, and it was someone else. This could be my chance to confirm something.

"I’m sorry," I said quickly. "What is your coach’s name?" I asked.

He faltered.

He raised an eyebrow. He tilted his head to the side with his eyelids squinted. "Wait, what?" he asked, shaking his head, like he was trying to analyze my question.

"I asked what your coach’s name is," I said.

He looked at me and then scoffed, looking aside before turning back to look at me. "I don’t get it. What’s with that sudden question? Why are you asking me that? Is the Dean not enough for you? Do you want to sleep with my coach as well?"

I folded my lips when he said that and stared at him. Yep, totally pointless. I closed my eyes and shook my head. "Never mind. I made a mistake asking that."

He chuckled. "No, you are just involuntarily showing your real self."

I shook my head and tried to side-step him. He obstructed my way again.

"You are not leaving until we address this, Rosa. Because mark my words, the moment you step out, you are going to bleed everything out of yourself. The entire school is going to hear about it."

"Let me go, Mac," I said.

"What if I don’t?" he taunted.

I tried to walk past him, but he grabbed my hand once again.

"Let her go!!"

A very deep, harsh voice exploded around the park. The both of us froze. I flinched. I slowly tilted my head to see Mr. Don behind us. The air around him was dark once again. That jovial, cute, childish self I witnessed in the car was gone, vanished like a ghost. He had both of his hands in his pockets, his eyebrows squeezed to reveal sharp slits of creases on his forehead, his eyes blazing, sharpening into daggers like a dragon’s, glaring intently at Mac.

I can’t help it. I shuddered.

I felt Mac’s hand tremble as he looked at Mr. Don. His eyes darted from Mr. Don back to me at intervals.

"I would not like to repeat myself, boy," Mr. Don said.

Mac folded. He hesitated, but after a while, he harshly dropped my hand. I felt my elbow crack with the force and then grabbed my elbow, glaring at him. "Ouch," I winced.

Mac wasn’t looking at me; he kept glaring at Mr. Don severely.

I saw Mr. Don close his eyes and shake his head. "Nope, that’s not acceptable," he said.

The both of us flinched and observed him, wondering what he meant. Mr. Don glared at Mac.

"I want you to pick her hand once again and drop it gently like you would a princess," he said.

Mac stared at him with disbelief. "This is preposterous," he said.

"Do it," Mr. Don snapped. His voice left no room for jokes.

Mac flinched. He glared back at him, still trying to be defiant.

"Let’s see what your coach is going to say about you harassing a female student," Mr. Don added.

Mac glared at him. "You wouldn’t," he said.

"Try me," Mr. Don replied. He looked really serious, like he was going to do it.

I felt Mac tense beside me. When I turned to look at him, I saw his jaw muscles working, clenching, his face almost turning red with full-blown frustration. He moved his hand roughly and grabbed my wrist.

I winced and looked up at him. I saw him trying to restrain himself, stopping himself from pushing me around harshly. He slowly lifted my hand up the way he did before, and then gently dropped it down the way Mr. Don requested.

"Good," Mr. Don said. "That should teach you to be respectful to the female gender. They are not as strong as those muscular bones you carry. They are delicate, and the slightest thing can hurt them. So even a little wrong move is considered harassment. Understood?" he said.

Mac glared at him, but he didn’t reply.

I can’t stay here and continue to witness this. I quickly tugged my hand away from Mac’s grip. I looked at him, glanced at Mr. Don. Mr. Don was still glaring at him. I quickly turned around and vanished away as quickly as I could from the official section.

I rushed through the entire school campus, noticing the crowd of students, chatters, ramblings, and whispers everywhere, going about their daily activity without knowing that my life and my world are in such an uproar.

Many of them saw me, they noticed me as usual, the whispers and mumbles came up. God, I wonder when all of this is going to end, when I’m going to stop trending. But I didn’t bother to place my focus on all of that. I hurried straight inside the lecture building where I’m supposed to have my first lecture.

I was rushing through the hallway when I quickly took out my phone and swiped to my year forum. I checked the timetable. I was supposed to have Music Technology and Production.

Oh wow, now that’s an interesting course, I thought to myself. When I looked up in the hallway, I saw the other students just watching me. They kept whispering, but they didn’t approach me or make crude remarks just like before. It was like they were avoiding me.

Weird, I thought to myself. But I didn’t want my mind to dwell on that. I hurriedly followed the map on my year forum and then tried to locate where the lecture hall would be. I really wonder who my lecturer will be for this course. And please, let it not be someone who is going to give me a headache.

A sudden thought pricked through my mind. What if it could be Mr. Don?

I frowned intensely. I closed my eyes and shook my head, freezing in the middle of the hallway. What’s your problem, Rosa? Why am I suddenly wishing it to be Mr. Don?

I ground my teeth together. Goodness, that man is possessing me. I shook my head and patted my cheeks. No, I told myself. No, forget about it. It can’t be him or else I won’t pass that course. It was already enough that he took Applied Music and performance practicals.

God save that course for me.

I quickly picked up speed and rushed straight into the hall. When I stepped in, it was empty. Every single aisle was void of students.

Well, isn’t this a good thing? I found myself rushing with heavy excitement in my chest towards the front row. I took a seat there and set my bag down, letting out a soft breath. Well, that was easy.

As I began taking out my books, I heard the doors slamming open followed by the chatter of students. I turned around to see other students trickling in one by one. As they stepped in, many of them froze when they saw me. Then they scoffed, whispered to each other, and began to take their seats one by one.

I ignored it all.

And then I noticed something weird. Everyone kept trickling towards the back. By the time I looked up from my book, the second row and the rest of the rows behind me were all filled with students. Nobody made a move to take the front row with me.

I frowned. Okay, that’s weird. There was clearly enough seat her for at least ten people. Strangely avoiding me up to this extent. But I shrugged. Good riddance. It’s not like I wanted to have anything to do with anybody anyway.

I kept flickering through my notebooks and picked up the textbook that was supposed to be for this course, glancing through the first notes in it, when I heard the lecture door swinging open.

"Well, well, well. Good morning, students." A calm, soft, and strangely familiar jovial voice boomed in the hall.

"Good morning, sir!"

"Great. So, um, I’m going to be your lecturer for this course today."

I frowned and slowly lifted up my head, just in time to see the tall, athletic figure standing on the lecturer podium, holding a ruler and smirking at me.

I jolted and nearly dropped my book from my hand.

Oh my god.
