Chapter 717: Chapter 717: Cleo vs Mutants (Part 2)

I took a swift step back as a Killer Komodo leapt towards me from the right with its jaws wide open, before swiftly jabbing the side of its head with my fist charged with nuclear energy, the creature’s head violently rupturing upon impact.

I then spun around as two more sprang up behind me, reaching out and grabbing their heads before slamming them together, crushing their skulls against each other. I swiftly got low as another one launched itself towards me from behind, before driving my tail up with immense force.

As my tail plunged into its throat, a choked snarl of pain ringing out, I swiftly snapped my tail across, hurling the Killer Komodo at another one that was charging in.

"<Master, we cannot maintain this for much longer>."

Yeah, I know. Don’t worry, I’m keeping track of the time limit, we’ve got less than half a minute left.

Think I’ll switch to Monstrification once this Spirit Fusion wears off. I’m better at using Carmilla’s blood attacks in a one on one fight rather than against a large group, and Lucifer’s Anti-Magic could backfire, the Mutants might scatter if they’re unable to sense my Mana and return to their senses.

As several Killer Komodos charged in, I spread out my wings and took off into the air, unleashing a barrage of atomic blasts. The blasts rained down on the Mutants, wiping out several of them as the rest scattered and ran around frantically in an effort to avoid my onslaught.

I then swooped down towards a couple of them as my time limit began to near its end, charging atomic energy into my fists. I raised my arms up as I closed in on them, before swinging my fists down with all my strength, intensifying the charged up energy.

My fists slammed down onto the top of their skulls, crushing them flat as I triggered a couple of small but intense shockwaves upon impact. Blood burst out and splattered across the dirt as deep cracks spread out, thick puffs of dust rising up right as my Spirit Fusion wore off, reverting me back to my base form.

I let out a slow exhale as my power boost subsided, a bead of sweat trickling down the side of my face, before my gaze shifted across as a Killer Komodo came rushing in from my left.

"<Partial Monstrification: Lightning Dragon, Left Arm>," I chanted, raising my left arm up as electric blue scales spread out across it, my arm bulking up as my fingernails extended into claws.

As the Mutant lunged forward and snapped its jaws around my arm, its body seized up sharply as I generated a burst of lightning around my scaly arm, its fangs failing to pierce through the scales.

"<Negative Energy Generation>."

I fired out a drilling beam of Negative Energy, carving through the middle of the Mutant’s skull, killing it instantly as I wiped out a chunk of its brain. I then rapidly spun around and flung its corpse forward as a pair of Killer Komodos leapt towards me, knocking them away before whipping my arm across and firing out a rapid slashing wave of Negative Energy, slicing them along with the corpse into two.

As the scales wore off and reverted my arm back to normal, I glanced around at the remaining Mutants. Just a bit over twenty of them left now, I’m almost done here.

On second thought, maybe I don’t even need to use Monstrification. Between Partial Monstrification and my Assimilated Skills, I think I’ve got this covered.

I then unleashed a large blast of flames at the sky, fueled with a massive amount of Mana, nearly all the remaining Killer Komodos immediately charging at me, the rest following after a brief hesitation, unable to resist.

"<Dragon Flames>."

I snapped open my jaws and unleashing a scorching wave of flames at the Mutants ahead of me, engulfing them and roasting them to a crisp, their roars of pain quickly fading away as they collapsed into charred heaps, right as another leapt in towards me from the right.

"<Partial Monstrification: Minotaur, Right Arm>."

I let it chomp down on my right arm as it drastically bulked up and got covered in a thick layer of dark brown fur. As the Mutant tried to force its fangs through my skin, I swung my arm up before whipping it down powerfully, slamming the Killer Komodo against the dirt with a devastating impact, killing it.

I then leapt up high as three of the remaining Mutants lunged at me simultaneously, evading them before chanting as they lifted their gazes up towards me...

"<Basilisk Petrification>."

I fired out a blast of the green, petrifying energy from my eyes, hitting the trio of Killer Komodos, their bodies rapidly turning to stone as the petrification spread with immense speed.

As I plummeted back down, I bent my knees before driving my feet down, crushing two of their petrified heads, before stomping on and crushing the third one.

"<Queen Taratect Venom>."

I spewed out a violent spray of corrosive, acidic venom at a pair of incoming Mutants, agonized snarls ringing out as the venom splattered across them. One of them collapsed as the venom melted through the top of its head and into its brain, as the other one leapt towards my legs.

I swiftly sidestepped across and whipped my foot up, striking the side of its neck and breaking it with a sharp crunch, the creature hitting the ground and skidding forward as its body went limp.

I then spun around as another one sprang up behind me, chanting to activate my Dragon Frost Skill and firing out a narrow, sharp projectile of ice, shooting it straight into the Mutant’s open mouth, the shard of ice bursting out the back of its head.

I shuffled across to avoid it as it hit the ground and slid forward, before glancing around. And that just leaves...two more of them. Time to wrap this up and complete the Quest.

Hm, I wonder how the others are doing? Hope things are going as smoothly for them as it’s been for me.
