Chapter 718: Chapter 718: Jaden vs Mutants (Part 1)
Point-of-View: Jaden Xeno

Alright, this should be the spot. Hm, gotta say...it’s really beautiful here. I was by the foot of a large cliff, which had dozens of large, translucent crystal formations all over the place, which were refracting the sunlight, blanketing the area in a shimmering rainbow glow.
I was currently a few dozen kilometers to the east of Sanctuary Alpha, having taking on a Quest to eliminate a group of Calamity Level Mutants that were residing too close to the Sanctuary for the Union’s liking.
I was hiding behind a row of bushes ahead of the stretch of crystal formations. And ahead of them, on the side of the cliff, was a large, wide cave entrance.
The Mutants I’m after are called Glass Dragons, there’s supposed to be around ten or so of them in there. Alright, then, let’s get started.
"First off, [Telekinetic Surge]," I chanted as I channeled telekinetic energy throughout my entire body, a devastating burst of force erupting around me as my Power Level tripled and surged above six million.
My hair stood up on end as a slight shimmer cloaked my body, before I turned my attention to the cave as I heard a shuffling sound. A faint glimmer shone out, right as several large creatures emerged out into the open, their gazes locked onto me.
Wow, so that’s what they look like. I mean, I was shown footage of Glass Dragons before, but it’s different seeing them in person. They look really cool.
They’re massive lizards covered in translucent, glass-like scales. Their scales were jagged and stuck out like glass shards, only their undersides smooth. They had sharp, jagged horns on the top of their heads, and long tails with a row of shard-like scales along the middle.
They’re more or less around the size of the Dragons from the Demon Lord’s world, but they don’t have wings. Hm, looks like they’re spreading out, their full focus on me.
They’re literally salivating, it looks like they’re struggling to hold themselves back. Mutants are apparently highly sensitive to Mana, so with my power boost unleashed, I must be irresistible to them.
But the fact that they aren’t attacking must mean they’re intelligent enough that their frenzy hasn’t completely overruled their survival instincts. They can’t ignore my surging Mana, but they’re also aware that I’m much stronger than they are.
Well, I’m not done yet...
"[Spirit Fusion, Shadow Cat: Onyx], followed by [Spirit Summoning, Rejuven: Cure]," I chanted, dark, shadowy energy bursting out and swirling around me.
Jet-black fur sprouted out across my arms as black streaks appeared across my hair. My eyes turned dark blue, the shape of my pupils narrowing as black sideburns appearing on either side of my face. My teeth and nails sharpened and extended into fangs and claws, a dark, shadowy glow shrouding my body as my Power Level surged further by a little over a million.
Cure manifested and wrapped around my shoulders, right as one of Glass Dragons let out a roar and shot towards me with surprising speed. The Dragon snapped its jaws open and unleashed a fierce blast of glass-like shards towards me.
I stepped forward, bracing myself as the blast closed in on me, the shards pinging off my telekinetic defense as my feet skidded back slightly from the force of the blast upon impact.
The Dragon leapt towards me as it closed in on me, slashing at my head with its large claws with a snarl. I swiftly launched myself straight towards the Mutant with a pressurized telekinetic burst behind me, firing out a blast of disorienting, ringing sound from my mouth.
As the sound blast hit the Mutant and dazed it, I generated a rapidly swirling telekinetic drill around my right arm as I drove it forward with a telekinetic burst from behind my elbow to propel my arm forward.
As my fist collided against the middle of its neck, the attack tore through and ripped a hole through its throat before bursting out the back of its neck, blood gushing out as the Dragon began to fall over.
"Now, [Spirit Art: Shadow Travel]," I chanted, blasting myself down and sinking into the Dragon’s shadow.
I traveled forward through the shadows, slipping behind one of the other Glass Dragons, presumably a juvenile since it was smaller than most of the rest, before emerging out of its shadow behind it.
The Mutant stiffened before whipping its tail at me, which collided against my telekinetic defense and got deflected off, starting to turn around towards me as a couple of the other Glass Dragons rushed in towards me from either side.
I shifted my focus to Tailekinect, my whips floating up before rapidly extending out and swinging across with immense force as the Glass Dragon I’d slipped behind spun around, lunging its head at me with its jaws wide open...before my whips sliced clean through its neck, decapitating it.
As its head fell off and plummeted, the Glass Dragon charging in from my right closed in and swiped its claws at me with immense force, an intense shockwave bursting out as its claws collided against my telekinetic defense with a devastating impact.
My eyes widened in surprise as I got launched off the ground and got sent hurtling through the air, before crashing onto the side of the cliff. Large cracks spread out across the cliff as the impact carved out a deep indent, bits of rubble raining down.
Wow, that was some force...the Dragon couldn’t break through my telekinetic defense, but my defense couldn’t deflect its strike either. I then quickly pulled myself off the side of the cliff and zipped across the air as several of the Glass Dragons fired out powerful blasts of glass shards at me, loud crashes ringing out as they peppered the side of the cliff, large rocky chunks getting blown off and slamming onto the ground.
Alright, let’s see...there’s still nine more of them left, two juveniles and the rest fully grown. I laced my fingers together and stretched my arms out, cracking my knuckles. Okay, time to wrap this up.
