Chapter 719: Chapter 719: Jaden vs Mutants (Part 2)
Point-of-View: Jaden Xeno
———————————————————————————
I shot towards one of the Glass Dragon’s as it charged at me. As the large Mutant leapt at me, I swiftly got low and slid forward, before firing out a powerful, crushing blast of telekinesis straight up at its underside.
A deafening crunch rang out as my attack collided against the Dragon with a fatal impact, blood bursting out of its mouth as the shard-like scales around that spot got blown off, leaving a deep indent in the middle of its body.
I then sunk into its shadow as a couple more of the Glass Dragons rushed in from either side of me. I traveled through the shadows and emerged through the shadow of one of the juveniles, springing out behind it.
I snapped my mouth open and fired out a powerful, ringing sonic screech, dazing the Dragon before rapidly extending and swinging one of my whips towards the back of its neck, slicing through its nape and killing it.
As it collapsed and hit the ground with a loud thud, I flew up as another Glass Dragon lunged in towards me and snapped its jaws. I ascended high up into the air as I evaded its jaws, letting out a slow exhale before unleashing a fierce volley of crushing telekinetic blasts, sending immense bursts of force raining down towards the Mutants.
A chain of deafening crashes rang out as my blasts peppered the remaining Glass Dragons and the surrounding ground. Roars of pain rang out as clouds of dust burst out, cracks spreading out across the ground.
Broken scales flew out through the dust clouds as I relentlessly blasted the Dragons, before veering across and ceasing my assault as a massive blast of glass-like shards came shooting up towards me.
I then swooped down, triggering a telekinetic burst as my feet slammed down on the ground, blowing the rising dust clouds away. I glanced around as visibility returned, spotting four of the Glass Dragons still standing.
Two of them were badly injured, one with a broken arm and the other with a deep indent across its side. One was a bit scratched up, and one was completely unscathed.
I then launched myself towards the one with the broken arm, concentrating telekinetic energy around my fists. The Dragon snarled before spinning across and whipping its tail towards my right side.
I intensified the telekinetic defense wrapped around my body, concentrating it to my right side. The Dragon’s tail crashed against my defense with immense force, my telekinesis just about barely withstanding the impact, my feet slightly sliding across.
As the Dragon turned its head back and snapped its jaws open, I swiftly fired out a piercing beam of telekinesis, hitting the roof of its mouth and shooting through its brain, before bursting out the back of its head.
I then spun around as the other injured Glass Dragon leapt towards me from behind, before unleashing my Telekinetic Zone. The Dragon’s head got caught in the telekinetic grasp, its legs and tail frantically thrashing around as it tried to pry its head loose of the vice grip of my Telekinetic Zone.
While I can maintain Telekinetic Zone almost indefinitely while Cure’s on me, my range is still limited to a radius of five meters. Well, I’m not complaining...once a target is caught in my Telekinetic Zone, escape is all but impossible. A short range is a fair price for that.
I swiftly crushed the Dragon’s head, killing it before launching myself up into the air as one of the two remaining Glass Dragons raced across to my right and fired out a massive blast of shards.
The shards tore the ground apart as I shot up into the air in an instant, right as the other remaining Glass Dragon fired another shard blast up at me. I then blasted myself straight towards the first one that had attacked, the Dragon whipping around and snapping its tail at me with immense speed.
I powerfully cracked one of my whips across, slicing right through the middle of its tail, blood spraying out of the stump as I split the tail in half. The Dragon snarled in pain before lunging and snapping its jaws at me furiously.
Its jaws froze around me as I let its fangs into my Telekinetic Zone, keeping its mouth pried open. Cracks began spreading out across its teeth as it tried to force itself free, before I unleashed a drilling telekinetic blast into its open mouth, which erupted out the back of its neck, its eyes rolling back in its head as its body went limp.
I then shifted my gaze across as the last Glass Dragon charged in rapidly, leaping forward and driving its claws towards me with a fierce thrust of its arm. A devastating shockwave exploded out as its claws collided against my Telekinetic Zone, large cracks rapidly spreading out across the ground as dust burst out around us, the surrounding area rumbling.
As I began to take hold of its claws with my Telekinetic Zone, my eyes widened in surprise as the Dragon broke its claws off with a violent twist of its arm, starting to back away as it opened its jaws, charging up its shard breath.
Suddenly, my whips burst out of the ground on either side of it, the Mutant freezing in alarm and starting to back away, but it was too slow to react. My whips rapidly zipped in, plunging into either side of the Glass Dragon’s head and piercing its brain, killing it instantly.
The Dragon went limp and fell over as I pulled my whips back out, a loud crash ringing out as its large body collapsed onto the ground, puffs of dust rising up around it.
"Oh, looks like I finished up right in the nick of time," I remarked, stretching my arms up as my Spirit Fusion wore off, before adding as Onyx appearing before me, "Hey, mind giving me a heads up with the time limit’s about to run out next time?"
"<If I must. You would have been perfectly fine even if it had worn off before you finished, so I don’t see the problem>," He responded, licking his paw and swiping it over his ear.
"Yeah, that’s not the point," I replied with a wry smile, as I reached down and scratched behind his ears.
