The sounds of the hunters running away slowly begins to fade into the distance.

I guess they did all that tracking for nothing. Just running away when it finally does make its appearance. It didn’t even show its face just yet but they are already gone.

Tch. It is my first time ever hunting a dragon and I didn’t run away in fear of what’s to come.

SWOOSH!!!!!

"Grahhhhhh!!!!" A younger man screams in the distance.

I turn towards the sound of the screams to notice that another man is standing ahead with blood all over his arms. He is wearing some baggy pants and a shirt with messy black hair.

I’m going to guess that the dragon is the one ahead of me right now since it wouldn’t be another hunter. Well, I wouldn’t expect it to be one since this is quite dangerous.

I dash to a tree in front of me and make sure he doesn’t see me. My heart is beating out my chest as I give it a moment before peeking out from behind the tree.

Ahead I can just barely see the younger hunter from before on the ground with blood all around him. He looks like he is crawling towards the tree.

"You get away from him you piece of garbage!!" The older man shouts while charging in towards him.

I watch the older hunter charge the dragon but it doesn’t even look like he is phased in the slightest. The dragon is relatively calm while waiting for him to approach.

The man begins to swing his sword down towards the dragon but he immediately dodges it... Then swings his right hand towards the man.

FWOOSH!!!!!

I watch as the man goes flying through the trees before disappearing completely.

That is what I’m about to face soon myself...

How am I going to be able to fight against a dragon this strong?

Ash said this one is weaker than the others so why does it feel like the complete opposite. I don’t really understand how dragon rankings work just yet, but this does not feel accurate.

I look down towards my sword and then back up towards the dragon.

It isn’t the time to strike, I still need to study it.

Learning how it moves would be the smartest option to go with until I have an opportunity to attack. I won’t be making any mistakes when I engage with this dragon.

"Please... Don’t do this..." The younger man begs.

I look over the moment I hear him speaking but there isn’t anything that I can do right now. The dragon walks over and without any hesitation, it stomps down onto his head.

Blood paints the grass around him as the dragon takes a few glances around.

I take notice of his yellow eyes that look my direction for a moment before he decides to take off.

As soon as I hear the sound of wings flapping I turn around and begin to follow them.

I doubt the dragon is even aware of my presence yet so this should be a pretty easy time tracking it. Fighting it on the other hand... That’ll be difficult.

An hour of following the sound of it flying above me goes by. Eventually we end up in the middle of nowhere with a small tiny cabin in the distance.

I watch as his bones shift into a human like form and the scales disappear once again.

The clothes from before reappear as he approaches the door to the cabin.

So that’s how the whole process works when they go back into a human form? It is definitely quite strange to see in person. I’ll need to figure out how I want to handle this though.

There isn’t a whole lot of time since he could have friends coming at some point or another.

At least that feels like what I should assume... But maybe I’m wrong. Dragons might not need some other dragons in their territory.

Ugh. This just doesn’t feel like it’ll be fun in the slightest.

Yank!!!

Someone immediately pulls me back from behind and I fall onto the ground.

"What the he—"

"Don’t speak," She cuts me off before I can finish my sentence.

It isn’t Ash. A different girl is standing in front of me with short messy blonde hair, green eyes, and she appears to be wearing a silver chest piece followed by silver leggings.

After taking in what she looks like I sit back for a few more seconds before finally trying to speak again.

"Who the hell are you?" I ask while keeping my voice low.

"A Slayer that is actively hunting this dragon," She answers with a serious tone.

"Well I’m also a slayer," I say with a bit of hesitation at first.

She looks me up and down for a moment.

"Then why haven’t you dealt with this dragon already?" She questions.

"I just have a longer process with hunting them," I respond, clearing lying.

She can definitely tell I’m bullshitting right now.

"Well Newbie, do you have a name?" She asks while keeping an eye back on the cabin.

"Kain," I answer.

Ash never mentioned that I’d meet another slayer while hunting, then again I don’t think she expected it either. It is probably just some sort of coincidence.

"Raven," She introduces herself.

Is that her actual name or just some sort of nickname for the time being? I don’t know if that is a normal name for people to have or not.

Astien was kind of... Bland? I don’t know if that is even the right word.

"Nice to meet you I guess," I say quietly.

"I apologize for pulling you back like I did but the dragons aren’t dumb. Some can tell when someone is watching them," Raven responds with more of a calm tone in her voice.

"It is all good," I say while leaning back up against the tree.

My hunt is now with another slayer, how interesting.
