Blood splatters onto the floor as I finally rip the blade out through his damn shoulder.

He stumbles back after that while his hand reaches up towards the wound, but it doesn’t look like he is upset. The dragon has more of an impressed expression on his face, followed by a bit of a painful one.

Splat!!!

"I didn’t think a new hunter would do this much damage," He says while gripping his shoulder.

My vision is also a bit blurry from the blood after headbutting him so many times in a row... I don’t know how the rest of this fight is going to go.

Ba-dum. Ba-dum. Ba-dum.

Without giving it much thought I begin to rush towards him again; this time I can feel a huge difference in my speed compared to before.

The feeling itself is completely new to me... So I’ll use it to my advantage.

As I go to drive the sword into his chest on the right side this time, he suddenly backs up a few feet away from me.

I don’t think he’ll be staying in the human form any longer with all the damage he’s taken from me. This is even more of a reason why I need to quickly close the distance before it is too late.

Think Kain, Think. What can I possibly do here to make this work before I can’t stand anymore.

The strange sensation from before is still lingering throughout my body and I can’t tell what it is exactly. So I finally start to focus on it a bit more.

A red like mist begins to form around my hands as I focus more and more on the weird feeling.

The pain is still being suppressed quite a bit, but this is kind of giving me a bit of energy. That is the best way I could possibly describe this right now.

As the red mist finally finishes forming around me, I rush towards the dragon once again.

’red glowing eyes. How is this a human?’ The dragon thinks to himself.

FWOOSH!!!!

As I finally reach him again I begin to drive my sword straight through his chest once again. The ground slowly breaks around his feet a bit as I push him back into a tree.

My blade goes fully through his chest again and into the tree behind him.

Die. Die. Die. Just f*cking die already.

There’s no way this isn’t enough yet.

My eyes quickly dart down to my hands that are holding onto the handle of my sword. The red mist is still fully around them as if it is never going to disappear.

I wonder.

In the next moment I immediately slam my fist across his face and notice that it does some damage. The headbutt was enough before but now my fist can even make a dent.

I tighten my grip on the sword and continue to punch him across the face over and over again.

Blood continues to paint the floor as he tries to defend himself.

His left arm seems to be incapable of moving because of the way I ripped through his shoulder earlier. Meaning he has to try to defend with his right.

Making this fight very winnable for me right about now.

’I can’t transform in this current state. Damnit damnit!!!! What the hell is going on here!?!’ The dragon begins to panic.

A deadly encounter for us both to have today... Even if one is a lot stronger than the other. I should be the one who is dying on the ground right about now.

Yet, I’ve managed to bring this fight into my favor for the time being.

I’m getting exhausted as the fight continues to go on though... That’s the only problem I’m having.

POW!! POW!!!

Two more punches across his face and I finally notice his eyes starting to close as he loses consciousness. This is my sign to finally finish this fight after all the effort I put into it.

I rip the sword out with all the strength I have left and drive it straight into where his heart should be.

He spits up blood as his eyes suddenly widen from the pain.

With this, the fight should be over.

I tear through his other shoulder after piercing his heart and move back away from him. I wipe my sword off before sheathing it.

He didn’t even get a chance to go into his dragon form, how interesting. I didn’t expect to be able to kill him in my current state... Yet he should be dead now.

THUD!!!

His body hits the ground as his eyes go blank, no more movement appears to be coming from him anymore.

I turn around after that and slowly start to walk away as my body finally gives out itself.

Thud.

As soon as I hit the ground I can feel all the pain starting to hit me again as if it never left me in the first place. Except there is also a new feeling that is flowing into me.

Just barely I manage to lift my head to look back towards the dragon.

A strange bright white light mixed with some purple starts to rush towards me, disappearing into my body. The sensation itself immediately hits my whole body like a boulder crushing someone.

I can’t breathe for a moment until I finally realize that a lot of my pain has disappeared and I feel different.

[Slayer System Unlocked]

System? What the hell does that even mean? I have never heard of such a thing in my entire life.

Calibrating....

User: Kain Valtor.

Level: 2

~Stats still adjusting.

None of this makes any damn sense to me...

The sounds of footsteps rushing over to me distract me from whatever the hell is going on with this system thing.

"Are you alright Kain?" Raven asks with a bit of concern in her voice.

I look up at her but now there’s some sort of thing in front of my face.
