Flames burst out from his body as blood splatters across my clothes.
He looks as if he wants to speak but the pain is preventing him from doing so.
So I push my sword in further while forcing more flames out from the sword. Burning brighter and brighter each time.
Just die already you bastard. Die. Die. Die.
Twist.
I turn the blade slightly before bringing it down through his chest and out from his ribs.
SPLATTER!!!!!
He finally falls backwards onto the ground while struggling to keep himself from dying. It looks like he is trying to heal the wounds but the damage is too much.
Step. Step.
I stand directly over him now.
"Those crimson red eyes... You aren’t an ordinary slayer at all..." He says weakly while laying on the ground holding his chest.
I just stare back at him as I raise my sword one last time.
PIERCE!!!!!!
I pierce his neck with my final attack and end his life right there.
It doesn’t matter that I’m not an ordinary slayer or that I have crimson red eyes. Some people are just born with these things.
I swing my blade to get some of the blood off of it before wiping it off on my clothes the rest of the way.
Dragons continue to fly overhead as the cannon goes off a few more times.
~Dragon essence. Take it.
I look back down at the body before kneeling down.
You’re right, I almost forgot about this.
My hand touches his body and the essence begins to move into my arm. Like before I can see it moving underneath my skin until the feeling finally disappears.

I have no idea how the essence manifestation works or how to use the dragon pulse. I used it once in that dark place but that was it.
Honestly I forgot that I even had the skill to begin with.
~Error. I apologize but I cannot explain how to use them at the moment.
That’s fine. I’ll figure it out at some point or another.
The body turns grey and I stand back up.
Hopefully they’ll knock a few more out of the sky to make my job a bit easier. Otherwise getting them out of the sky might be a bit of a challenge in itself.
BOOM!!!!
Another shot manages to connect and it knocks yet another dragon out from the skies. It is almost like they could hear my thoughts at this point.
Crash!!!!!!!
In the distance I can see a bunch of dust as a dragon lays in the ground for a moment. Its wing is completely shattered.
~Looks like you got what you wanted.
Looks like it.
I lift my sword up slightly and get into my stance once again.
"I said I’d kill all the dragons. That’s exactly what I’m going to do," I say with a serious tone.
Dash!!!!!
~Why say that out loud?
There’s a purpose to everything. Someone or something might’ve heard it, that’s what matters.
I move across the battlefield in a few moments before finally reaching the dragon.
As I swing my sword down towards it, I’m met with pushback.
Clang!!!!!
"I won’t be dying that easily," It says as the dust finally begins to settle.
Another dragon in human form is standing before me, except he is wielding a sword this time.
"I’m glad you aren’t making this too easy," I reply with a bit of a cocky attitude.
~Don’t get too cocky Kain. You don’t know the strength he has yet.
I start to push back against his sword as he slowly moves across the ground.
Without thinking I grip the sword with my other hand as well now and start to press even harder.
Grit.
I begin to grit my teeth as I start to notice his blade is giving way.
"You really are quite a strong slayer," He says with a calm tone in his voice.
As it gives way I slice across his chest but he doesn’t seem to be phased in the slightest.
WHAM!!!
Pain jolts into my stomach as I notice a palm just went into it.
Blink. Blink.
After blinking I realize I’m a few feet away from him now and the pain is still going throughout my stomach.
I hunch over for a second as I begin to cough violently.
Drip. Drip.
My own blood is dripping onto the floor from just the one attack he landed on me with his palm.
He is definitely a lot stronger than the other dragon I just killed... But how much stronger is the real question.
Clench.
I clench one fist as I stand back up straight. My eyes immediately lock with his as he slowly walks towards me.
It is right then and there I recognize that he is wearing a nice black dress shirt with a bit of iron armor integrated into it, black pants, and he has long black hair like mine.
His blue eyes are just staring at me with each step he takes.
~Warning. A dragon captain has been detected.
A dragon captain?!?!
Wait...
~After further assessment, this is determined to be valid. The other dragon who crashed is still behind him on the ground.
I wipe my eyes and realize he is telling the truth. The dragon that got shot down is still laying behind him.
~Extreme caution is advised.
Surely he can’t be that much stronger than all the other dragons I have faced so far. I think I’ve gotten quite a bit stronger myself.
I go into my stance once again and raise my sword up.
"Slayers truly are brave," He says with a calm expression on his face.
If he really is this "captain" then he is quite cocky himself.
~You need to play this smart Kain.
