I feel my arm getting pulled along.

"Honestly I think we should get going," Sylvia says with a casual tone.

"That is my thought too," I reply.

She really is looking out for me, especially since that vision happened... It is almost like she knows something is bothering me. I’ll have to thank her later on.

I should also tell her about the vision since she knows about the dream already.

"Where do you think we should go next?" Sylvia asks with a curious tone.

"I don’t even know. Is there a place that could use our help? Specifically a place where dragons are pushing us back," I respond while scratching my head.

We walk in silence for a few moments as she tries to think about our next stop.

People seem to be looking away from us a lot more than they did before. Word is spreading fast about what happened with Driften.

"Let’s take a seat here for a second. I need to check out the map," Sylvia says while pulling me over to a bench.

After sitting down she pulls out the map and starts to analyze it.

I watch patiently as she points to each location, trying to decide if that is the right decision or not. I can clearly tell she is unsure of what place is best to go to.

"Do any of these stick out to you?" I ask curiously.

"Only one location might be worth heading to and that would be Zameref," Sylvia answers while looking towards the left corner of the map

Zameref? A place I’ve never heard of... Then again, it might just be like that for everything. I don’t know much about the world or what places are around.

"What is in Zameref?" I question.

"Zameref is where the actual front lines are. That is where the war began," Sylvia responds with more of a serious tone.

"Then off to Zameref we go," I say before standing back up.

Sylvia doesn’t move immediately, instead she keeps her eyes on the map for another few seconds, almost like she is thinking over everything again.

"What?" I ask.

"Nothing. I’m just making sure you understand what you’re saying," Sylvia replies while folding the map.

"I understand enough," I say with a soft tone.

"The front lines aren’t like Driften," Sylvia replies.

I mean it is where everything started so of course it would be different.

Driften was dangerous because of the bandits and that former slayer, but it was still a small town. The people there were hiding inside their homes while waiting for the attacks to end.

That is nowhere near the same as dragons, slayers, and just people dying all over the battlefield.

That sounds more like the actual war I’ve been preparing myself for since I left Astien.

"I know," I answer.

Sylvia stands up and places the map away.

"You say that now," Sylvia says.

Her tone isn’t negative but more concern than anything else.

Maybe she thinks I don’t fully understand what we’re walking towards.

I don’t, but that’s mostly because anything could happen when we arrive.

But that isn’t going to change my decision.

"If that is where we’re losing ground, then that’s where we should be," I say with certainty.

Sylvia watches me for a moment before letting out a small sigh.

"I knew you’d say something like that," Sylvia replies with a casual tone.

"Is that bad?" I question.

"No," She answers as she smiles slightly.

I think she’s definitely getting pretty good at reading me lately.

~Perhaps she is.

I ignore the system and look towards the streets ahead.

Aerithel is still moving like normal.

People are walking between the shops.

Adventurers are heading towards the Shining Emerald.

Merchants continue shouting about whatever they’re selling.

None of them look like they’re preparing for the kingdom to burn.

Flash!

For half a second I swear I see black flames crawling across one of the buildings.

My eyes widen for a moment before it all appears to be normal again, just sunlight reflecting against the windows.

That damn vision really bothers me. I don’t really know what to expect or when it’ll happen... It is a problem.

"Kain?" Sylvia calls out my name.

"Yeah?" I question.

Sylvia gives me a look and I let out a quiet sigh.

"I need to tell you something before we leave," I say with a soft tone.

Her expression immediately becomes more serious.

"What happened?" Sylvia asks curiously.

"The dream from before... I saw everything again when we were inside the guild hall," I respond while looking back towards her again.

Her eyes narrow slightly.

"Aerithel in ruins?" Sylvia questions with worry in her voice.

It feels strange to hear her saying that.

"Black flames everywhere. Everyone inside the guild hall was dead," I continue explaining.

Sylvia doesn’t interrupt.

"The same dragon was there too," I say before stopping.

"The one from the dream?" She asks.

"Yeah," I answer before looking down towards my hands.

Even thinking about that pressure makes my body tense.

"I couldn’t move when it put its hand on my shoulder," I speak with a bit of a serious tone now.

That is the part I hate the most... Being unable to move.

Knowing something is standing right there and I can’t do a damn thing about it.

"He was stronger this time," I continue. "Or maybe the vision was clearer."

Sylvia crosses her arms.

"And you were awake?" Sylvia questions while tilting her head slightly.

"Completely," I answer without hesitation.

She looks towards the buildings around us.

For once I can actually see worry settling into her expression.

Not panic, Just concern.

"That changes things," Sylvia says quietly.

"I know," I reply.

"Hmm. Maybe we should stay," Sylvia suggests.

Sylvia taps her finger against her arm.

"I don’t think we should. There’s no telling when or if this will happen," I respond while crossing my arms.

I knew she was going to ask.

I look towards the people walking around us.

If the attack was happening tomorrow, I’d stay.

If it was happening in a week, I’d stay.

But there is no telling when it’ll be so we can’t afford to waste time sitting around for a potential attack to hit or not.
