Slowly Falling into His Love Trap
Chapter 642: First Step to Winning His FavorWatching Aunt May’s hurried steps as she left, Evelyn Morgan’s lips curved awkwardly.
How worried Aunt May must be about Mrs. Lockwood being replaced by someone else?
However, Evelyn was feeling quite pleased inside.
Thinking of how Caden would be full of praise for her cooking when he returned, she got more and more enthusiastic and even started humming a tune.
At night, Caden Lockwood, who had been busy all day, refused the dinner party and rushed back to see how Evelyn was doing, only to find her busy figure in the kitchen.
Caden’s heart tightened, and he strode forward, coming to Evelyn’s side, asking anxiously, "Why are you cooking? Where’s Aunt May?"
"Aunt May..." Evelyn thought for a moment, then said softly, "Aunt May wasn’t feeling well today, so I’m cooking!"
She quickly added, "Don’t worry! What I make won’t be worse than Aunt May’s, really! You’ve tried it before and said it was delicious!"
"You... you’re not feeling unwell anymore?" Caden frowned, "Be a good girl, go rest."
Listening to Caden’s concern, Evelyn couldn’t help but feel regret.
If she said she wasn’t unwell anymore, she’d be facing the prospect of divorce.
But if she said she was still very unwell, he definitely wouldn’t let her do anything.
Looking at the almost finished dishes, Evelyn felt it was a pity.
Not being able to finish what she started felt really unsatisfying.
Evelyn took a deep breath and said, "Actually, I’ve done everything that needs to be done, just serve the rice."
Evelyn said it in a carefree tone, completely forgetting that this proud, haughty man, Caden, knew little about kitchen work.
And she was indeed tired, so she went to sit on the sofa, picked up a cushion, and waited to eat later.
Caden looked at Evelyn, with the sofa hiding her small figure, leaving only half of her head exposed, making her look especially cute.
A faint smile subconsciously appeared on his lips.
Only she would instruct him to serve the rice!
But strangely, he actually enjoyed this feeling of domestic life.
Putting down his briefcase and taking off his coat, Caden started to serve the dishes on the table and then served the rice.
Aunt May came out of the bedroom and was startled to see Caden busy in the kitchen, immediately taking the task from his hands.
"Young Master!" Aunt May exclaimed, "Why are you doing this yourself? Leave it to me! I’ll take care of it!"
"I’ll do it." Caden calmly said two words.
His gaze fell on the sofa and accidentally met Evelyn’s eyes.
At this moment, Evelyn was lying on the sofa cushion, sticking out her head to look at Caden.
Normally, she would’ve guiltily averted her gaze long ago.
But now, she just looked at him without the intention of looking away.
Instead, it was Caden who awkwardly looked away first.
Evelyn, a bit disappointed, glanced at the briefcase and coat he had left on the chair, then went over to help put them back in the bedroom.
She subconsciously patted his pocket, feeling the painkillers still full inside, and her heart felt warm.
But if he could recover and not need to take medicine anymore, that would be the best outcome!
Evelyn let out a heavy sigh, wondering what method she could find to persuade Ashley Sutton to treat Caden.
Standing there blankly, looking at the medicines in Caden’s pocket, Evelyn’s gaze was deep and helpless.
