Slowly Falling into His Love Trap
Chapter 647: If He Doesn’t Make a Move, Then You Make a MoveEvelyn rolled her eyes.
If he wasn’t busy, why has he been nowhere to be seen these past two days?
Clearly, he’s avoiding her!
Or maybe, at the company, he’s already started developing feelings with Shannon Dunn?
The thought of such an outcome made Evelyn feel stifled, as if a huge stone was blocking her heart, leaving her even unable to breathe smoothly.
In a bad mood, Evelyn simply closed her eyes to sleep.
Caden Lockwood focused on driving, while his peripheral vision was fixed on Evelyn. Only when she didn’t notice could he look at her so unabashedly.
Afraid that seeing her would spark thoughts he shouldn’t have, he could only hide in the company, keeping himself so crazily busy that his body wouldn’t have the energy to think about such things.
Now, accompanying her on this outing, Caden wasn’t sure if he could control those instinctive reactions.
His body had been starved for so long; it was surely becoming increasingly difficult to control!
Caden heaved a heavy sigh, his eyes coldly staring ahead, his handsome face filled with knots of frustration.
Evelyn and the others arrived at a villa on the mountains owned by Julian Keaton for a vacation. The scenery around the villa was beautiful, with a wide lake where the water was shallow, allowing everyone to have a good time.
Ashley was the happiest one, not needing any company as she ran around everywhere by herself, full of energy.
Watching Ashley’s youthful exuberance, Evelyn stood still, her eyes filled with envy.
If it were in the past, seeing such a beautiful place would certainly have made her as excited as Ashley!
But now her mind was full of the issues between herself and Caden, and she simply couldn’t muster up any happiness.
Cecilia Lynch walked over to Evelyn and softly asked, "What’s wrong? You don’t seem happy."
Evelyn looked at Cecilia, took her hand, and led her to the bench at the back of the villa.
"Didn’t I tell you? Once I recover, Caden will divorce me," Evelyn said dejectedly.
"Isn’t that just something said in anger?" Cecilia was surprised, "How is that possible? Would he really have the heart to divorce you?"
"Why wouldn’t he?" Evelyn sighed, "He hasn’t stayed at home properly for two days now. It’s obvious he’s waiting for me to recover!"
"But..." Cecilia glanced toward the villa where Caden was talking with Julian, "If it were about divorce, would he still come out to play with you?"
"Out of guilt!" Evelyn shrugged, "He thinks my car accident was caused by him, so he proposed waiting until I’m healed before getting divorced!"
As she spoke, Evelyn’s nose started to tingle, and she was about to cry again.
"It’s all my fault!" Evelyn choked up, "I didn’t know how to cherish the good days when I had them. And now..."
"Don’t worry!" Cecilia was a bit flustered, "Evelyn, regardless of Caden’s decision, no one can deny how well he’s treated you, right?"
After hesitating for a while, Evelyn gently nodded.
She couldn’t deny that Caden had been good to her, yet now, the very person who had been so good was about to drive her away.
"If you don’t want a divorce, you could try to make some effort to keep him!" Cecilia suggested.
"How do I try?" Evelyn dejectedly shook her head, "He... hasn’t even touched me once more."
Cecilia instinctively responded, "Then you should touch him!"
After saying it, she suddenly realized what Evelyn meant by "touch."
