Galamedees Galaxy, Solarian Prime.

“Wait, the stream ended just like that?” Shalendra asked in surprise.

“Yeah, he does that,” Becky replied.

“I wanted to see the PSF raid,” Shalendra said in disappointment.

“That was never going to happen, Shalendra,” Keerla remarked.

“So what now, mother?” Liluth asked.

“Now I need to speak with Adam directly and arrange for him to return Eytelis home,” Riniya replied.

“If she agrees,” Becky said with a chuckle.

“Welcome, Eytelis; it’s been many years,” Rowena said in greeting as Adam and Eytelis disembarked Spectoru Unit Five, which had just landed in Spector’s docking bay.

“Indeed it has, Diva Rowena,” Eytelis said with a smile while looking around at the group of women who had come to greet her.

“Allow me to do introductions,” Rowena said before motioning towards Lorelie and Aphrodite. “I’m sure you're familiar with Diva Lorelie, Diva Aphrodite and White Dragon Tephe.”

“Of course, I doubt there is anyone who doesn’t know these three in the known universe, especially Diva Lorelie with her current rise in popularity,” Eytelis replied happily.

“It’s a pleasure, Borough Chief Eytelis,” Lorelie said with a smile.

“Welcome aboard, Borough Chief Eytelis,” Aphrodite greeted.

“Hi Eytelis,” Tephe greeted while waving.

“Please, divas, just Eytelis is fine,” Eytelis replied while waving back to Tephe.

“Then there is no need to address us by our titles either,” Lorelie replied as both women smiled.

“This is my granddaughter, Stacey Sinclair,” Rowena stated proudly.

“Eytelis,” Stacey said simply with a nod.

“Err, hello,” Eytelis replied with mild surprise at Stacey’s greeting.

“Don’t worry about her; she’s cold to everyone she meets for the first time,” Rowena said with a chuckle.

“Grandmother,” Stacey complained.

“She’s not wrong,” Adam said with a smile. “You were cold to me when we first met.”

“Hmph,” Stacey pouted while looking away.

“This is Eri; she’s currently acting as Lorelie’s assistant,” Rowena announced.

“I’m honoured to meet you, Eytelis,” Eri said politely.

“It’s a pleasure,” Eytelis replied.

“This is Emma Hopkins. She’s an Earthling like Adam and is responsible for managing our current and future business,” Rowena announced.

“So you're from the same planet as Adam?” Eytelis asked with interest.

“That’s correct, and you're a Dryad,” Emma replied.

“Yup,” Eytelis replied. “I hope you're willing to tell me more about your world.”

“And I hope you’re willing to tell me more about your race,” Emma replied.

“Sounds great,” Eytelis stated happily.

“So I’m guessing we’re heading for Solarian Prime before returning to Phoenix Nest?” Stacey asked while glancing at Eytelis.

“We can’t; Adam still has a couple of days of recovery before we can jump,” Lorelie replied.

“Recovery?” Eytelis asked in surprise before looking at Adam in concern and asking, “Are you ill?”

“I’m fine,” Adam replied with a smile.

“Then what did Lorelie mean by recovery?” Eytelis asked.

“This ship has a special type of drive,” Rowena began to explain. “It’s far faster than even a subspace drive, but carries a flaw that makes it dangerous if we use it too much over a short period of time.

We only found this out recently when Adam fell ill from this flaw. He is pretty much back to normal, but we still can’t take the chance of using the drive for a couple of days.”

“I see,” Eytelis replied.

She could tell that Rowena knew more than she was letting on, but she also knew it wasn’t her place to pry.

“We still need to return Eytelis to Solarian Prime sooner rather than later,” Aphrodite announced. “She said it herself; she’s weakened after being away from the great tree for so long.”

“Adam, a word,” Rowena suddenly said while motioning for him to follow her.

Adam raised an eyebrow before nodding and following her away from the group.

“What do you suppose that’s about?” Tephe asked.

“I’m not sure,” Aphrodite replied while looking at the pair curiously.

“What’s wrong?” Adam asked.

“I have an idea that might help Eytelis to recover somewhat,” Rowena stated as she glanced back at Eytelis.

“Your blood,” Rowena said in a serious tone.

“Pardon?” Adam asked in confusion.

“I have a theory that your blood might help her recover partly, if not completely,” Rowena answered.

“Why? She’s not Brood.” Adam stated.

“Correct; however, as we know, your blood is special,” Rowena began to explain. “While it doesn’t happen often in this day and age, Dryads in the past were known to often feed on animals and humans to survive.”

“Seriously?” Adam asked in surprise while glancing at Eytelis.

“Yes, though as I said, it very rarely happens these days and only in exceptional circumstances since food is far easier to come by,” Rowena replied.

“Are you sure it’s wise to reveal the secret of my blood to her?” Adam asked. “I mean, we haven’t even told Tephe and the others about it.”

“The choice is, of course, yours, darling. But I believe we can trust Eytelis to keep the secret,” Rowena replied before winking at Adam and saying in a teasing tone. “Besides, she seems adamant about joining the harem.”

Adam shook his head with a smile before saying, “Fine, but you need to explain your suggestion to Stacey and Lorelie.”

“No problem,” Rowena replied before pecking him on the lips and heading back towards the others.

Adam smiled before following her back, after which he approached Eytelis and said, “We should head for the med bay.”

“Why?” Eytelis asked. “I feel fine.”

{Spector, I’m assuming you overheard our conversation, so if you could help out here.} Adam thought.

[[Affirmative]]

“Because you yourself claim to be weakened and also because you have been subjected to torture, you are required to report to the medical bay for an immediate checkup,” Spector suddenly announced through the internal comm.

“Who was that?” Eytelis asked in surprise.

“The ship's AI,” Rowena answered.

“Ah, ok,” Eytelis replied. “But as I said, I feel fine; I’m only weakened.”

“Fiere Lucent or one of your other captures may have secretly injected something into you without your knowledge. This could pose a security risk to both me and my crew,” Spector announced. “Failure to comply with the medical checkup will result in your immediate expulsion from the ship.”

“Seriously?” Eytelis asked as everyone else besides Adam and Rowena wore looks of surprise.

“I suggest you do as Spector says,” Lorelie suggested with a smile. “At times like these, Spector won’t listen to anyone, even Adam.”

“You mean you don’t have full control over your own ship?” Eytelis asked Adam in surprise.

Adam shrugged before saying, “I found Spector abandoned, and while I’m registered as its captain and owner, there are certain… subroutines that even I can’t override.”

“I guess I have no choice then,” Eytelis said with a sigh.

“Don’t worry, this ship's tech is highly advanced, including its medical tech; I should know,” Lorelie stated with a smile.

“Let’s go, I’ll show you the way,” Adam said as he beckoned Eytelis to follow him.

“Oh, oh, I’ll tag along too,” Tephe said with a smile as she began to follow them until Spector suddenly spoke up again.

“Negative. While the checkup is ongoing, the medical bay will be restricted to crew members of level five clearance and above.”

“What!” Telhe exclaimed before pouting, “Boo.”

“Lorelie, granddaughter, I need a quick word with the two of you,” Rowena announced as Adam led Eytelis out of the docking bay.

“Err, sure,” Stacey replied as she and Lorelie looked at Rowena in surprise.

“Why is everyone suddenly having private conversations?” Tephe asked with a pout as she watched the three women move away.

“What do you suppose that’s about?” Emma asked.

“They’re probably discussing the possibility of Eytelis joining the harem,” Aphrodite replied while smirking.

“Not before me, “ Tephe retorted angrily.

“I’m sure they're aware of that, Tephe dear,” Aphrodite said kindly.

As she and Adam walked along Spector's corridors towards the med bay, Eytelis couldn't help but study the ship in amazement.

“This is nothing like any ship I’ve ever been on,” Eytelis remarked.

“Have you been on many?” Adam asked.

“I can’t see you being able to leave Solarian Prime often with your position.”

“I’ve been on a few,” Eytelis replied. “You're right, though. I normally only leave Solarian Prime for important business, and even then I’m not gone for long.”

“Must be tough,” Adam remarked.

“I’m used to it,” Eytelis replied simply. “Where did you even find such an advanced ship?”

“It was buried on Earth; it must have been there for a long time,” Adam vaguely replied.

“So its creators must not be part of the known universe,” Eytelis remarked.

“That does indeed seem to be the current theory,” Adam replied before changing the subject and saying. “There might be a way for us to help you fully recover while you're here.”

Eytelis looked at him in surprise before shaking her head and saying, “Impossible; the only way for me to recover to my peak is to return to Solarian Prime and the great tree.”

“That’s not what Rowena seems to think,” Adam replied.
