I defeated the bear. It was a tough fight. I nearly died myself. There wasn't any problem with my physical abilities. The injuries did bleed a lot. I am feeling anemic.

I have exceeded the human limitations. In terms of physical strength, strictly speaking. My body is still undoubtedly a human’s body. Bleeding will make me anemic.

I am fairly strong without any excess mass. That’s a good thing. I don’t want to be all round and blocky. I am still the same.

The bear carcass is still there in the forest. I do want to bury it but I had to return home to stop my bleeding. It took me a full night to recover enough energy to move again.

When I returned home, Hazel was all over me. The bloody smell, the clothes laced with blood, they are still lingering.

My body is beat up. I probably tore through a lot of muscles yesterday. My cuts or deep gouges are still fresh. It burns, stings and is generally unpleasant.

Scratches are all over my body so I had wrap myself all over. It was pretty hard, doing it alone. Hazel was worried, I think but she did not try to lick my wounds.

I look at her. She is keeping her distance from me. Normally she likes to lie down near me or lick my hands and face. Now, she is keeping her distance.

My body hurts so much that my thoughts are clouded. I get up and put on a loose shirt. I should go and bury the bear otherwise it would rot in the open.

"Hey, wanna come with me this time?"

I ask her. And she just got up and stood beside me.I take it that you want to. So I take her and go downstairs. I need to take a shovel from the storage which is downstairs.

I would have taken the bike but I can’t rude it in my condition. I took a wooden stick with me to support myself. The walk itself would not be long but I walked like a snail.

Upon our arrival there was something near the dead bear. I stop at a distance and observe it. It is a small bear.

The size could be called a baby bear, a cub.

Was the bear I killed its mother? I have unknowingly orphaned a cub.

This is heavy. I go to the cub with Hazel following me.

It's trying to wake its mother. I didn’t check whether the bear I fought was a female or not? It honestly wasn’t on my mind when I killed it.

The cub looks at me and becomes vigilant. It's growling at me. So I put down the shovel which I had and extend my right hand.

It's better to not scare the bear. It might fight back if threatened.

And I slowly approach the cub. It is still growling at me.I should have the same smell as its mother because I fought it barehanded.

It sniffed my hand and bit me. It’s a strong bite for its size. I managed to avoid my hand but it’s biting my arm. Hazel tried to get it off me but I stopped her. Judging from its size it isn't that old.

I try to pick it up and it increased the pressure. It's kinda light. What should I do?

I am in a pickle. I killed its mother and it is attached to me in a way. Everyone has the right to live. I also came here with a resolve.

If you want to kill someone, be ready to die yourself. I don't know who said that but it is true.

So, I came here to kill or be killed. And I killed. But this cub doesn't deserve to die. Well nor did its mother.

Aahhh. This is confusing. I am contradicting myself with my talks.

Anyway, I look at Hazel.

"What should I do?" I ask her.

She stared at me for a while and came near me.

She barked at gestures with her feet to put the cub down.

I put it down and Hazel was licking it. The cub slowly let go of my arm. It’s bleeding slightly.

Is that to confirm something? I don't know. She pointed at the dead bear and barked at me.

"What? Want me to bury it?" I ask.

She nodded. I knew she was clever but this has reached another level now.

I simply give up and start digging a hole.

The bear is 2 meters tall and at least a meter in width.

The hole needs to be big.

Whilst digging I look over at Hazel and the cub.

She is doing something with the cub but I can't understand.

Are they communicating? Is that some special method of communication between animal?

I focus on digging and it took me half an hour to dig a hole bug enough to bury the bear. My body is dying, my wounds have probably opened up again.

I push the carcass. When it was alive, if felt lighter. But carrying the lifeless body, I really broke a sweat.

I push the bear in the hole and start filling it.

After completely burying the bear, I take a big stone and put it on the grave.

The cub brought a handful of soil and put it on the grave.

Were animals this clever or are they just special?

I pray for the soul though I don't know if gods exist or not.

"Why not go back?" I ask Hazel.

But she pointed at the cub.

"Are you going to bring it home?" I ask.

I personally have no problem raising a bear. It wouldn’t be much of a compensation but I still need to do something for it. The opinion of the cub matters as well.

The cub is on Hazel’s back for some reason. It seemed really eager. I guess, they have given the seal of approval.

I should think of a name as well. It doesn't matter but giving a name also means that, I won't have to call them that or it.

I gavel Hazel her name based on her color. But I think I should see whether the cub is a male or a female. Then I will think of a good name for it.
