SS Awakening: My Monster Merging System!

Chapter 265: True Training Begins with Hunting [1]

Step! Step!

Razeil Walked forward, her steps calm and unhurried.

On the other hand, Zich continued retreating until his heel touched the boundary of the silver circle.

As long as he took another half step, he would immediately fail.

He clenched his teeth together, a bitter look appearing on his face.

In his thoughts, Razeil’s figure appeared in front of him, her extended finger passing through the final gap in his defense and heading directly toward his forehead.

This time, he no longer had anywhere to dodge.

And the most painful part was the fact that it was fifty nine seconds, painfully close to the 60 second mark.

FWOOOSh!

Suddenly, right then, a black light flashed.

The figure standing at the edge of the silver circle instantly changed.

Razeil’s fingertip did not touch Zich’s forehead. Instead, it touched the brow bone of an undead skeleton soldier.

At the same time, Zich appeared several meters to the right , in the position where that skeleton soldier had originally been standing.

Spirit Exchange!

"Time’s up, phew." Zich exhaled as the final countdown came to an end.

Razeil slowly withdrew her right hand and turned to look at him.

"You successfully fooled me into believing that you were stuck. That’s impressive."

"Thank you."

Razeil silently looked at him for two seconds before finally giving a slight nod.

"You Passed."

Hearing those words, the tension in Zich’s shoulders finally relaxed, and he collapsed to the ground unceremoniously.

"So does this count as beating a Level 200 player?" A teasing smile appeared on his face.

Razeil ignored him and walked directly toward him.

Just as Zich thought the training had already ended, she suddenly raised her right hand and flicked him hard on the forehead with her finger.

Smack!

The force was not enough to injure him, but it still caused him to involuntarily flinch..

"What was that for?"

"To keep you from becoming complacent just because you managed to avoid a finger that was only using an extremely small portion of my strength."

"You could’ve just said that."

"This makes it easier to remember."

Rubbing his already reddening forehead, Zich looked at the angel before him, whose expression remained cold.

"Are you this patient with every one of your students?"

"You aren’t qualified to ask about my other students yet."

"When will be qualified?"

Raziell didn’t answer right away. She first glanced at the four Level 1 skeleton soldiers scattered around the silver circle before finally placing her gaze on the sixteen year old boy in front of her.

Zich’s current control was still extremely immature, and his habits were filled with flaws that enemies could exploit. Even the confidence he normally displayed occasionally came close to arrogance.

However, he was able to rapidly learn from failure, never blamed his own mistakes on his summons, and also knew how to bring every ability he possessed into play when it truly mattered.

For a teacher, these things were far more important than how much temporary strength a student possessed.

Razeil turned around. "From today onward, while receiving training in this world, you may call me Master."

The hand Zich had been using to rub his forehead suddenly stopped.

"Only in this world?"

"When you possess enough strength to openly reveal this relationship outside, while no longer needing to borrow my name to solve every problem for you, I’ll consider allowing you to address me that way elsewhere."

"You’re worried I’ll use your name to scare people?"

"I’m worried you’ll embarrass me."

Zich silently looked at her back for a moment, and the corners of his lips gradually curved upward.

"Understood, Master."

Razeil’s footsteps paused.

Hearing this form of address from Zich seemed to carry a feeling that was slightly unfamiliar to her. However, when she turned around again, her expression had already returned to its usual calm and cold state.

"Rest for thirty minutes."

"No greeting gift for your new disciple?"

"Twenty minutes."

"This is clearly an abuse of a master’s authority."

"Ten minutes."

Zich immediately sat down on the ice and took out the food he had prepared in advance from his spatial bag.

"I suddenly think ten minutes is already extremely generous."

Ignoring his words, Razeil turned to look into the distance. However, at the moment she turned away, the corners of her lips, which normally appeared somewhat stern, seemed to soften ever so slightly.

Of course, Zich didn’t see this. He had already begun eating, making full use of the remaining time to recover the mental strength he had consumed.

Several minutes later, he raised his head.

"What are we training after the break?"

Razeil stood beneath the pale sky, with the endless frozen land behind her.

"Actual combat."

"The ice path training is over?"

"Temporarily over." Razeil glanced at the four undead skeleton soldiers standing outside the silver ring. "Only by repeating the correct movements can they gradually become instinct. Continuing to train in your current mental state will only cause the wrong reactions to also become instinct."

"Moreover, all of your most obvious problems have already been exposed. Continuing to stay here does not have much meaning."

Zich swallowed the last mouthful of food.

"So, the ice paths earlier and that one minute just now were only tests?"

"They were used to confirm exactly how much foundation you have."

"How was the result?"

"Slightly better than my initial judgment, but not good enough for you to feel proud."

Zich had already guessed that he would receive this kind of answer, so he didn’t continue asking.

During the next twenty minutes, he closed his eyes and concentrated all of his attention on recovering his mental strength.

When the swollen feeling coming from between his eyebrows gradually weakened, Zich opened his eyes again.

He looked ahead and saw that Razeil had already raised her right hand.

Silver white magic power surged out from her palm and rapidly outlined one complicated spatial rune after another in midair. As all the runes connected together, a spatial passage several meters tall slowly opened.

The other side of the passage was no longer a flat ice field, but an enormous valley surrounded by black ice mountains.
